Dawn of the Republic: Jedi Knights

Hey guys, so I have a character in mind I'd like to create (haven't started work on him but I have an idea) who will initially be in the Jedi Order as a Jedi Knight. However, after a while I plan on having him leave to join the Fulcrum (grey jedi). Not quite sure how I'd play that out, would it be alright to roleplay him with the Knights for a time first and then leave? Or would it be preferable to have in his bio that he was raised a Jedi and then left shortly after a few missions as a Jedi Knight?

If you want him to be apart of the Jedi Knight do you. It would certainly be more interesting for you to RP him leaving. Plus, you can meet Jedi who may or may not support you in your adventure.

I'd say it's up to you and what aspects you want to play out for the character. Also where you'd like to start him out.

Alright, here is my other Jedi. Bau Zo. He is a security minded Jedi who I hope to tie into eventually founding the temple guard. Have a lot of him to reveal with the new timeline once we go live!

It depends how important you want their time as a Jedi to be. If you want to have the character's time as a Knight shape their philosophy (either positively or negatively) in a lasting and meaningful way, then I would say play it out.

Not only will you get some unexpected turnouts in the story, but your character could make some particularly close friends. Leaving those friends to join the Fulcrum would undoubtedly have a far more realistic weight if they were other characters, and not just NPC mentions. Depending on how orthodox/extreme their worldview, they could view your character as no better than Sith, and such an exchange is rich for personal turmoil and growth.
Even with much of Rhonan's early trials and tribulations played out in his Bio, I still want to run some "flashback" threads when there is downtime to get into the head of a scared and scarred child and how he went from nearly sub-sentient from abuse and starvation to a Padawan, then a Knight. It is a rare luxury you normally don't have in writing, so I'm going to eat it up while I can.

I plan to create a Jedi as well, as Vosrik mentioned. He would have just passed the trials, presuming they were a thing back then. In any case, he will be starting out as a knight.

I have updated the roster a bit, and I took out the Pre-Timeline RP section. There are too many RPs to count at this point. :)

Alright, I've also updated my character (Vosrik Tanari). He will be starting out as a Knight as well.

I keep meaning to continue Reem's biography but then I keep not wanting to do the whole 'writing' part.

yes that sounds like a fine plan

My character is starting out as a Jedi but I suspect he'll be leaving the order in time. Still, I'd like to sign him up for the faction.
