The trailer reminded me of War of the Worlds.

I kinda find it unrealistic when they depict a whole bunch of Reapers attacking a city when Sovereign could have easily destroyed the Citadel (which is probably like all of Earth's major cities combine). Then again, Sovereign was probably a leader like Harbinger.

Also the guy in Big Ben had an Australian accent.

I'm thinking there will be some sort of Death Star ala Endor stuff taking place.

As long as I have Garrus, Thane and Legion at some point in the game. I will be happy.

It seems pretty obvious that Earth will be the final confrontation of the game, while you rally support for your cause in the form of resources, new technologies and possibly armed forces.

Weirdly the only change I'm hoping for in ME3 is to be able to customize the Normandy on a visual level, I don't even care if there isn't any space combat.

I think all your crew members who survived in both games will be in this, though as party members I do not know. I think it's fair to say though that Garrus and Tali will be at your side no matter what though.

Earth also has to be the last confrontation, since if it's attacked at the beginning, I doubt Shepard and others would go around recruiting their army while Reapers are eating everything.

It's a possibility, considering Protheans went to Earth when we were ape men. Though the chances of Prothean ruins on earth are possible since there are some on other planets and the like, considering Mars...

Same here! Funny thing is, I think the guys at BioWare know what Tali and Quarians look like under the masks.

well, at the very least gave speculative fodder that the writers may use, considering the Ufologists " theories" about places like Cusco in Peru and such. ME seems to like playing with that, and plays into the " altered genetics/evolution" concept that became very popular after the research station on Mars was discovered.

I'm loling @ the crazy nerd rages over on the official community. So many people pissed that " big ben" as they call the sniper said " what are they, where did they come from, what do they want"

They are pissed that he didn't know reapers ( which the council buried anyway) or pissed that he didn't call them Geth considering thats what the council said Nazarrah ( sovereign) was etc etc etc....

It was a great trailer, showed a loose plot point, Reapers are here, earth is targeted.

Thats all anyone SHOULD take from it....It's a first release TEASER, done up as epically cinematic as possible to get the market all excited. The commercials are written as just that, hyperstylalized and over dramatic for a reason.
They did the same for ME2, and DA....Epic trailers that actually played no real point into the game in any way other than a " concept of whats going on"

I agree with the bookah (GW:EOTN term for those who don't know it). Frankly, I'd like to see the rumors of multiplayer to be truthful. It's clear every ally (Rachni, Krogan, Geth, Quarians) and enemy (...The Illusive Man) you make will be coming into play.

More customization would be nice (I actually also like the idea of space combat. It would make sense at this point), and yes, we know three gents here are making sure Tali makes it through to the end game -- Ashley Williams, would you kindly stay on Eden Prime?

And would everyone stop debating about the guy in the trailer? This is barely worth notice.

If Prothean technology was found on Mars, there's a chance that there could be some on Earth. However, it would would have probably have been found already, maybe they found Megatron under the ice? Or the Alien Queen from Aliens vs. Predators? A lot of alien tom foolery seems to be hidden in the waters of Antarctica...
