Palleon got to go out like a boss, nothing scared him from his virtues it was a good death.
Not really.
That book made no sense.

still the ieda of a " bleed off" is possible given the construction looks rushed and sloppy by design
Abrams, Disney, I've only got one thing to say.
I also found that the crossguard saber and even the top part of the helm on that Sith both gave off a European knight vibe to me. Like he's got a chivalrous attitude or noble blood of some sort.

Still don't know if it's a cross guard.Frankly I am not a fan of that lightsaber hilt. For one thing it is incredibly impracticable. Don't get me wrong I know what the purpose of a cross guard is but unless the cross guard is cortosis with a lightsaber invovled it wouldn't do any good. Just adds weight and sucks power.
I want to know who this guy is and why he looks like a Badass Stormtrooper.

If it is a cross-guard, it could still function. Stephen Colbert has pushed "his" big theory that it's a single crystal that's beam is split in to three, so there'd still be a fully formed beam within the metal part of the cross-guard.

That is true, however I'm not sure cortosis would have been an option in this case. This lightsaber doesn't look like it's made, well, with an artisans touch. It's rough, almost sloppy and crude, with exposed wiring and mismatched sized parts. Given its state of what I'm guessing was improvised construction, I'm not sure Kylo Ren had the resources to get Cortosis, or the expertise to use the metal effectively and forge proper crossguards. Either that, or the knowledge of Cortosis being a useful metal against lightsabers might have become a highly obscure and possibly unknown property now, given the rarity of lightsabers.
If this lightsaber looked like the ones from the prequel I'd totally say you were spot on. But there's too many unknowns at play for me to make the judgement call just yet.
