So, why have it be a thread in the first place? Why not just make it a story to add to lore or something?

Makes sense. Thanks for the concise answer.
The better question is, why not have it as an open thread?
Any time? How about, let's say, three hours and thirteen minutes from now?
Then you don't have to deal with people complaining about not doing anything? I dunno, just a question.
I've been called many things before. Concise is not one of them. =P
You're welcome, though. Any time.
So people can have fun and do things that they can't normally do for fear of death or loss. You can't normally do epic stuff and focus on finding awesome opportunities in a battle, because normally you're too busy focusing on not losing your character and/or not losing the battle. This removes both of those elements and provides a chance to just let loose and go nuts.
We've done stuff like this before, and it's been wildly successful.
Any time people can RP a thread, it's better than just saying that something happened.
Everyone else said:"Because we can"
Fair enough, Brandon. Fair enough. Roleplaying is odd for me- as I have mentioned repeatedly before, I primarily did tabletops. The experiences I had with them are very different than the ones I'm having here...in terms of how the story is played out, is governed, etc.
What is the difference between a Role-Playing Game and a "Role Play", in your opinion?

I actually state my opinion on this on a fairly regular basis- mostly in regards to tech submissions or stats in peoples profiles- many people regard this as an RPG, when it's really just an RP. There's a subtle difference I think, and it's usually when people lose sight of that that problems occur.
Just my 0.02 creds.
An RPG is primarily that last word- a game. The storytelling part of it is a byproduct of the main goal, which is to win the game. With an RP, the main goal is to tell the story, and any semblance of a game is the byproduct of the storytelling.
I don't think it's really considered a by product if it's the name of the product, but I agree with Taruna we should discuss elsewhere.
Good question. I would like to hear about that too. Any way we can elaborate that in a different thread?
