The team in question was simply called "Rainbow". Rainbow Six was the leader.

Don't you ****ing lie to me. This was Pros' flight of fancy, and he's only claiming it was intentional so he and Kyle can bask in adoration. I stand by my accusations.

As the third person who was actually present in creating the OLR it was born of multiple things than the whimsy of one person.

In reference to the actual name "rainbow" it was meant to evoke the sort of dumb fun and whimsy that was present in the first two timelines of the RP (where people took things a lot less seriously and was quite a bit more fun).

In regards to the group itself it was always intended to be less of an indie faction but an umbrella for multiple factions to work parallel under, which of course lends itself to a better rebellion style faction that I am confident Kyle will be able to good things with.

TIME FOR KYLE TO ADDRESS SOME STUFF:

Wait, where did this come from? Did we really just use an enormous Deus Ex Machina to solve the rebellion's problems?
Nope.
Does Operation Liberation Rainbow even have that much, well, stuff? They have less ships on their page then KES
Yes.
Deus ex machina, or carefully planned ambush? Rainbow actually has more PC members than the Rebellion in its current state, and boasts an equally appropriate amount of firepower.
Neither. More like daring rescue using carefully planned assets.
While perhaps true, they only have 2 frigates and 6 corvettes listed in their assets, so I don't see where their stuff in the Space Combat thread came from. I'm only bringing this up because I was pitched for the same thing when the whole battle had started.
The trick with establishing the IC-power of OLR is to examine the people who comprise it.
So... I get back on from a long break and bam, rainbow fleet, I can't actually tell if legit or not. The writing is great but the rainbow...
The Rainbow...is the best part. It's legitimate, though. I promise.
OLR and the Rebellion essentially are a single faction now, Brett. Brandon revealed this would happen a few pages back.
I'm currently working on the write-ups personally on what will actually comprise the new Rebellion. Ought to be supes fun.
Oh well, I haven't had the time to read this many more pages. I just clicked on the little button for New Replies and it jumped to the last page for some reason. That makes like no sense though. Where'd the rebels get that fleet? I know about what was under the seas, but the Rainbow fleet?
The Rainbow armada is made up of mostly Cartel ships with some Bogan and other Independent groups making a show. I...borrowed them...
The "Rainbow Fleet" is a combination of the various indie interests that make up the "old" OLR, the Gungans, the remainder of the Rebel fleet that was not previously involved in the battle, and an appropriate amount of new talent from various interests based on the number of active PC members of the OLR, which frankly dwarfs the active number of Rebel PCs. We're not basing the numbers on what was part of the indie faction OLR page, because OLR ceased being an indie faction in the truest sense shortly after its inception. A number of merger-related changes are under way, this is just a more dramatic way to make an entrance and to progress the story, which was the main goal of Naboo.

Hail Hyd... I mean, may the Force be with you.

Oh wow, that's... well then. I feel insignificant again
Well you've successfully pissed off a main faction so...

less insignificant, buddy.

rkQq0GE.gif

In the vastness of the cosmos when was anyone really significant? That again is a lie.
So how much are you missing Skype, buddy?
There's always an opportunity to affect the galaxy. OLR started off as a gimmick, but it quickly evolved to the point of being something far more integral to the overall story, and so here we are today. It did that in a couple of different ways, but mainly it did so by appealing to the widest variety of folks possible. I look forward to be Kyles grudging slave labor.

It was never a gimmick mate, despite the silliness it was always a serious idea. There has been quite a lot of OLR related activity going on in various threads.
Yeah I should probably explain the origins of OLR to people at some point.
As the third person who was actually present in creating the OLR it was born of multiple things than the whimsy of one person.

Johnny explains it well enough for now.

Thanks buddy.

Your rebellion sucks because I'm not in it. Just thought I'd let you know.

(Also too I was busy making a Carpenter-esque documentary on the miracle of childbirth. My wife literally pushed out like a ninth of her body weight o'er this weekend. So much blood.

Also too all veneration to Kyle and the staff. It's quite true that insofar as my fancy had anything to do with this it had nothing to do with this. Seriously. I had nothing to do with this. Kyle is THE GUY (and a good guy at that.)

You may of course, return to your veneration of my devastating sensuality and Adonis-like physique. You shall be among my many --I can only assume-- adoring admirers.)

HEY! The ship we crippled got destroyed! WE DID SOMETHING!

Please leave your sarcasm at the door. We were completely upfront about the fact that this had a predetermined ending, and that the battle was - and I quote - a means to move "the story in a direction that it needs to go in order to keep things fresh" and that it has "an ending that works regardless of the tactical outcome." That's all in the first post of this thread.

It was the responsibility of you and everyone else involved to take the opportunity of a no death thread, do some awesome stuff with it, and have fun. The vast majority of people who have joined this battle seem to have been able to do that. If you didn't, or at least didn't do enough to meet your expectations, then fair enough, but please stop acting like you were somehow cheated out of something, because we told you exactly what this thread was.

So enough with the attitude. Thanks.
