Nal Hutta

0f2e9690acea8f2d3fe7bbc539ec78df.jpg

The job was simple, take out a small time crime lord making to much noise. At least it seemed simple until Rath was perched outside the hideout. His helmet interface was lit up with thermal signatures and he couldn't even see the inside. Switching back to the standard vision module he noticed what looked like droplets. Looking up the sky opened up almost as if waiting for him to notice before the rain came crashing down.

Looking at his gauntlet display the bounty info came up. The bounty was placed by a rival gang leader over a territorial dispute. More than likely the poor fool made a deal on the wrong side of the street. Flipping through the data screens it says his group held thirteen members counting the boss. By his earlier reconnaissance they were all present an issue but one of little worry. With the rain picking up he could take them down in small groups using his swords.

As he stood up preparing to make his move something the client said resonated in his head. "This job is first com first serve if you wait to long he won't be there to claim anymore." Did he give the bounty to multiple people or was just willing to do so incase of his failure. Making his way back down to the streets he started to make his way towards the hideout. Hoping he won't have to do this mission loudly dragging authorities to the area. Stopping shortly beforehand doing a final check to gather the surroundings from the ground level.

Nal Hutta. She wasn't really fond of the shithole, but it offered countless opportunities and Maeve was exactly looking for a great opportunity. She had been on the planet for a week by now, had slid her metaphorical business card into a few fitting places and had soon gotten her first job - an assassination.

Her last assassination was a while back, so she was naturally thrilled to get back into one of her favorite businesses again. The amount of credits offered was right - the imprest she had received had helped her stock up on everything she deemed necessary: a fine collection of sedatives and other helpful substances, a few sets of knives, darts, Vibro-Daggers and smaller, handier ones, some minor tech equipment and her blaster.

The contractor wasn't one too give away too many details, but she knew it was about a crime boss of a rivaling gang - one of Nal Hutta's finest scum, it seemed, thus she knew she had to bring a certain amount of finesse with her in this. In contrast to the company she didn't even know she was getting, she was dressed rather inconspicuously: the leather jacket, together with the functional leggings and the dark crop top let her pass as a regular drifter, perhaps even a regular citizen. It was usually her best armor - it didn't offer a lot of protection but no one usually expected the carefully concealed arsenal, the blaster that was perfectly concealed by the jacket or her skills.

As she approached the target location, she noted that apart from the usual scoundrels throwing her some either disgusting or shady (or both at once) glances, there was nothing special about the hideout yet, but she knew better than to believe they weren't high on security.

"Oh, and say hi from the buckethead for me", a message suddenly came in, her phone softly buzzing against he'd thigh. As she read it, she rolled her eyes briefly as this meant she apparently wasn't alone on this. She wondered why her contractor hadn't told her in advance, but it made her a little suspicious. Still, she couldn't deny that what sounded like a Mando, could also be promising, so she stored the phone away and narrowed her eyes, her ocean gaze attentively scanning the streets before she did spotted the classic, full body armor in front of her.

She approached the tall figure, not bothering whether be noticed her approach - the angel face wasn't looking like someone who'd be about to assassinate a gangster anyway. She noticed a hobo, obviously on spice, who suddenly started laughing hysterically as he touched a trash can, but Maeve's attention was immediately back on the Mando. Damn, she hated this place.

"Hey there. Seems like you're the one I was looking for", a perfectly smirk tugged at her lips as she greeted him, briefly looking him up and down. Yep, he'd be the one taking the brute force of whatever while she intended to work in the shadows. "Lratos says 'Hi'". The name would surely ring a bell. It was one of the various names their shared employer used. "I'm Kate".

Rath was rarely caught off guard once he was honed into a mission. This was one of those rare instances as a feminine voice called to him from behind. Turning he saw a woman looking him up and down. He tensed up slightly though it barely showed half expecting him to have to fight someone over his armor again. The woman then mentioned his employer followed by her name.

"I'm John. I wasn't expecting reinforcements. The target must have really screwed up if a mandalorian isn't enough insurance for the client." Pulling up his display he showed her the info he had gathered of the patrol routes and such of the exterior guards. Along with a tally on the numbers showing a count of eight outside and suspected five inside. "I was about to make my move but since your now here we're going to need to modify the plan." Allowing her to look over his intel before turning off his display.

Was that sarcasm dripping from the modulated voice? She was used to getting underestimated, it was yet another perk, so there was no need to fight it. She didn't miss how he slightly budged though, the muscles under his armor tensing up, making her realize that she had at least managed go catch him off guard.

"I wasn't expecting a partner for this either...but guess we can at least spread out and get it over with quickly", she shrugged, not finding it too bad, especially because him being here meant that she could count on firepower. "Link my earbud to your comms", she suggested, drawing the little in ear device and offering it to him while she scanned the intel he offered.

She was positively surprised that he immediately offer to show her everything that he gathered, regardless of whether this was actually a disadvantage for him. That's why Maeve enjoyed working with non shitty scummy scoundrels - they were better people. "Hm...we'll we can either sneak in, or I can cause a distraction and pose as something or rather someone they'll let in".

Rath looked at the earbud finding its frequency and linking it into his helmets comms. Listening to her suggested alterations. "Well I doubt you'd have a problem acting as someone they would let in. If we go that route you would be on your own till I can get in from the roof since it only has one guard." He said the last part casually more like a chess player explaining moves. Still looking through his intel he couldn't see anything else other than fighting through. "The quickest way would be for you to be a distraction I think but it carries a lot of risk for you and I'm not sure if it worth that."

He went back to watching the patrols. He wasn't going to make a move without her agreement and not one she wasn't comfortable with. He could always shoot his way through and just have her be a lookout for the authorities. That way his conscious wasn't worried about having a life thrown away needlessly.

While she scanned the intel provided, Maeve couldn't help but to notice that not only his devices, but his whole whole armor would get her a fortune on a fence...No, Maeve, focus. Credits await anyway and overthrowing a Mandalorian was...admittedly complicated. Getting him out the armor - maybe not. She suppressed the mischievous smirk that tugged at her lips and thus forced her brain to focus on this mission first. Someone had to die, but first they'd have to overcome security.

Was he worried? Damn, why was he even being nice? Maeve absolutely wasn't used to such worries of mission partners and thus she wondered whether he was pursing a different side goal. She had been targeted before, what if that was yet another set-up? She knew she couldn't trust anyone truly, but she already a view scenarios to escape the complex drafted.

"Thanks", she plugged the earbud in, before her ocean eyes targeted his behind the visor. "Can you take the guard out quietly?", she didn't doubted it, but just wanted to be on the same page. "I'll manage", she reassured him, opening her jacket and reaching into an inside pocket. She pulled out a little package with purple, crystalline powder. "Finest void - incredibly expensive", it was an expensive drug after all.

"It's fake. But they won't be able to tell unless trying it- and even then it'll feel like it at first", she explained calmly. "I'll try to locate the boss. Perhaps we can even take him out as quietly as possible. Not causing too much of a stir will help us get out again". She waited for his judgement, storing the powder again.

Rath couldn't help noticing her looking his equipment over. It was something the Mandalorian dealt with on a regular basis. Though he didn't want to fight her he would if necessary. Afterall his jetpack would almost insure his victory. It had gotten through everything so far plus he had his various weapons.

She took the earbud after it was linked than questioned his stealth abilities. "I will be able to manage it." He said watching her show and tell of the fake drug. She must be some kind of chemist no wonder she was offered the job. "I'm not worried about getting out its getting in that I'm not a specialist in." Though it wasn't fully the truth it also wasn't a lie. Mandalorians weren't known for being subtle. "Your plan seems reasonable once inside I'll provide support should the stealth approach goes wrong." After his agreement he would take off with his jetpack landing on the opposite side of the roof from the guard. Sneaking up behind him all she would see is the glimmer of a sword raising up before him and the guard disappeared from view.

She studied him for another second, weighting his words, double questioning whether him actually entering from above and potentially failing to do it stealthily could endanger her on the inside...but actually, it would simply chaos and this she could use to get the job done - maybe he'd be the distraction then.

"I'll leave the comms open and have you listen. Good luck", she gave him a little wink before she sank her hands into her pockets and began walking with the same confidence that fitted her posing as a dealer. She was checking on whether she was followed, but the coast remained clear, so that she made it to the entrance.

"Well hello there, sugar", she immediately raised a hand, knowing the look. "I'm not here to work, I'm here to sell", she cut him off, patting her jacket. She knew the rules of the business, getting straight to the point usually saved them some unnecessary wasting of time.

"Well watcha got there there? Probably nothing more valuable than that pretty face of-", she coldly glared at him, catching the hand the second thug guarding the entrance extended to reach her cheek. "Your boss will be very interested in this potential delivery...", her face was dead serious. "I was sent by Merloth" - a name she had picked up along the way. He was a well-known dealer and she was a skilled liar.

"Come on, what is she supposed to do? Look at her. Worst thing that can happen is us having some fun", the first guard scornfully scoffed, a disgusting smirk on his lips. "Follow the hallway down to the right". And so she did without hesitation. The idiots didn't even search her, so she was in and she was readily equipped. She didn't speak to the Mandalorian yet, not knowing whether someone was listening, but as she walked through the door, she suddenly found herself in a classical backroom club.

Basses were pounding in her ears while the strobe light blinded her for a few seconds. "I'm in. It's a club. Stay on your fuars, I'll try to locate the boss", now she did speak, knowing the loud music would keep others from overhearing. There were guards posed all around, but she was free to move across the mildly busy dancefloor that was filled with a few dancers and strippers. Her goal was the little booth that was overlooking the rest - her gaze rested on the Zabrak that sat there.

In the meantime, Rath would be able to enter from above. He'd find himself in an empty corridor with a few rooms posted at either side of it. At first, there wouldn't be anyone around, but if he continued towards the staircase, he'd run into two guards who were engaged in a little conversation that would allow him to approach.

Rath had made it into the building. His beskad still in hand he eventually came up to the two guards. Walking in-between them yet slightly behind he wondered what to do. "Boo." Was all he could think of causing both to turn around startled. Headbutting one to a dinging sound and the man going cold he shoved his beskad through the neck of the other.

Slowly making his way down the stairs he was on the opposite side of the booth in a balcony like over look. Looking across he could see the people inside a Zabrak with two guards. Looking down to the dance floor he saw the other guards about and his accomplice. Crouching down behind some cover he spoke into his comms, "I'm opposite of the booth that looks to have the boss in it. He has two guards with him I'll provide cover from here while you do your thing. If it goes south you can run along this level towards me an we can escape from the roof." Taking up a position to shoot into the office.

"Stay down until I give you a signal". Maeve's heartbeat was involuntarily speeding up ever so slightly as she approached as suddenly, there were a few pairs of eyes on her. She kept her cool being the professional she was, but the setting made her a little uncomfortable as she simply hadn't expected it. The Zabrak's piercing eyes were soon on her, too, his gaze drilling into her. It made her shiver and somehow, she got a really bad feeling all of a sudden, so as if dread suddenly arose within her.

She heard what John replied but didn't flinch, knowing she was watched, but as she came close enough, she was stopped by the guards. "I've got a delivery from Merloth. A free sample, so to speak". The Trandoshan studied her critically, before she moved to the Zabrak and whispered into his ear. Her contractor hadn't mentioned their target was a Zabrak - that was a detail that confused her a little, now that she was reconsidering it. She was almost certain he had mentioned him being a human. Something was off.

She suddenly felt an invisible force gripping her by the throat and yanking her forward, before the Zabrak's eyes shifted into a glint of yellow. Oh fuck. Maeve reached for the invisible grasp, but as she landed right in front of him it was gone. A force user. Fantastic. That called for improvisation. "What have you got?", his deep voice icily demanded to know, and she swallowed, knowing she had to keep her cool.

"A little amuse-geule from the boss himself", she reached into her jacket, however not grabbing the package she had showed the Mandalorian earlier. This situation called for something else. She pulled out a plastic bag that held a dark gel. Her story was the same - but instead of powder, this here was supposedly void in its natural form. "I assume you know what this is", she said to him, still unflinching, however knowing he'd sense her emotions, which was why she kept her terror down internally.

The Zabrak snatched it from her and held it against the strobe light before she studied her closely. What no one besides her knew was that it was nothing more than edible spice gel laced with Renathyl. The Mandalorian had a jetpack, but what he get her if shit went South? "Finest blend". He only huffed before she stuck a finger into it and offered it to the guard on his left. The guard sat down and licked it off the finger, closing his eyes.

Maeve internally prayed he wasn't planning on getting up any time soon, but for now he took a deep breath. "Mhh". The Zabrak was still glaring at her, his gaze scrutinizing, but a smirk suddenly tugged at his lips. "Lock her up upstairs. I'll keep this one". Maeve's eyes widened, but as he stuck his finger into the bag again a moment later, relief washed over her. "Wait!", she said loudly, hoping just understood she was talking to him.

"NO!", she then screamed as one of the guards grabbed her, sticking to her role, but internally feeling triumphant as she knew once th Zabrak rose, he'd be out cold. She fake-fought against the violent grab, but purposely let herself be dragged towards the stairs. She waited until the Zabrak's line of sight was almost brokenn before she grabbed hold of the hand that was dragging her and skillfully wrestled free, now actually putting in an effort.

The Force-User was obviously a perceptive one, so he jumped up right as he saw the scene enfold, reaching out with a hand, but before it was fully up, he suddenly staggered and dropped down. "NOW! Shoot them!". That was it for subtle, but the club scenario simply didn't allow for it. Panic broke lose around the dancers and the Zabrak fainted, his guards immediately raising their blasters, leaving Maeve to count on the Mando while she fought with the guard who was still at her.

Rath watched as the scene began to unfold his blaster pistols aimed into the booth. Watching her being dragged away and her pleas to wait. He lowered his blasters aiming his wrist at the booth. While the other hand was aiming his blaster at the guards below. Before she could call out to shoot them a rocket was fired into the office. The explosion causing all the guards to duck. The Zabraks burnt body falling to the ground it was unknown if he was dead or not.

A guard below was hit by a couple blaster bolts dropping to the ground. His allies turned their attention to the mando opening fire on his position. Ducking down behind the wall waiting for a break in the fire. Once he got one he popped back up firing a couple more bolts into the guards catching one with a couple and grazing another. The guards from the outside had begun to come in the front not yet making it to the main dance floor. Time was ticking before the pair would be overwhelmed.

Why the kriff had there been a Sith. Maeve was startled, but didn't have time to actually find answers as she was involved in serious hand to hand combat before she had to use the guard as a meat shield. His thick skin allowed for a quick cover, but after he had been hit twice, she shoved him off and started running up the stairs.

Blaster bolts were wildly fired all around, a few only missing her by a few inches before she was at the Mando's level. She immediately ducked and half crawled over to him, drawing her blaster and firing back in unison with him. "The Zabrak wasn't the boss. We need to find him", she spoked hectically, evading more fire but ducking back into cover, knowing they didn't have much time.

"Let's head for the roof before they nail us down", perhaps there were some rooms or whatever upstairs. Down here there seemed to be the entertainment area, perhaps the real boss was being kept somewhere else. Her thesis was based on an assumption, no real evidence, but the intel they had received contradicted what they had found here.

Rath tried to cover the woman as best he could a few stray bolts getting close but missing barely. As she made it back to him he was fiddling with one of his gauntlets. He was reloading his wrist rocket planning to use it to gain some time before he escaped. "Go ahead up there was two rooms I passed on the way here. I'll be behind you shortly." Popping up he let out a barrage of bolts to give her the time to slip past. Once she was up the stairs he fired off his wrist rocket at the stairs. Though they weren't destroyed they were damaged enough to slow down the pursuers. Up the stairs Kate would hear a second explosion and a slight tremor in the building.

Coming up the stairs he would make his way to where the rooms were. Seeing his associate he would look at her, "With our short window I think it's best we both take a room." Turning to look at the door behind him. Kicking it in he would find two guards in the room counting credits and weapons. All Kate would hear is blaster fire and bodies dropping. Meanwhile in side the room Rath walked in blasters level seeing the two individuals shooting them before worrying about who they were. Walking in he would gather the credit chips and a bag of thermal detonators. Checking the corpses he would realize neither was the target. He would turn to go out the hall.

Maeve's heart was still pounding, but together they managed to take a few thugs out before anyone managed to advance upstairs. "Copy that". He didn't have to tell her twice, he was definitely the better choice for slowing their pursuers down as he had all the fire power and her blaster couldn't keep up with that.

He covered her and she began sprinting upwards, soon finding herself in an empty hallway. She reached for her first box of darts before he was indeed right behind her, suggesting to cover the rooms simultaneously. "No objections there. Best take them all out". Truth was, they didn't know what was behind the doors, but time was running against them and she could already hear angry shouts echoing from down below.

Without hesitation, she tested the door and it slipped open without great force. The first thing she realized was an unbearable smell that literally made her gag before she met the gaze of a scared Twi'Lek woman tied to the bed post. Her gaze flicked to the right where a relatively well fed human male laid on the ground, his body half decayed, his eye sockets empty and the skin blueish.

The choking marks on his neck told her everything she needed to know - the Zabrak Sith had done their work for them already. The scene she found was traumatizing, but the sounds of their pursuers made her snap back into reality. Not needing possible witnesses of their escape, she muttered a short 'sorry' before she stunned the Twi'Lek, knowing she was better off unconscious anyway.

"Found him, he's dead. Let's go", she said to the Mandalorian once back in the hallway, her widened turquoise eye a testament to the horros she had just seen, but she immediately spotted the TD's in his hand. Cool. So they could blow this place up. What Maeve didn't like about it was that the roof was their only way of escape and she wasn't the one with the jetpack, so she was definitely dependant on her companion.

Coming out into the hallway Rath was informed of the dead target. Taking her word for it he would lead her to the stairs going to the roof. "Go on up I'll be right up there. I'm just leaving our guest a little present." Setting down the bag at the base of the stairs but visible from the doorway at the top. Taking out one of the TD's and messing with the timer setting it to 15 seconds. Rushing up the stairs he stood in the doorway looking at his accomplice.

"I'm going to need you to hold on to me as if your life depended on it and be wary of your legs being too close to my jetpacks thrusters. I'd advise wrapping them around my legs rather than back." After she climbed onto him he would trigger the TD dropping it down the stairs near to where the bag was. She would be able to hear his heartbeat quicken as he initiated his jetpack and move them to another roof. The flight wasn't as smooth as his to get onto the roof was it was obvious he wasn't used to this type of flying.

As they landed he would try to shield her from the blast if she didn't resist. A large explosion would go off she would hear a grunt from the mandalorian but that was it. The building that once acted as a gang HQ had around half of it missing. There was no sign of life. Rath would get off of her but when he attempted to stand he dropped down. A piece of rebar from the building had pierced his left leg. Rath once again attempted to stand this time successfully although he was heavily leaning to one side and panting. "We need to leave before the authorities show up." A grimace came through as he forced himself to walk. Taking the lead for now.

Maeve was once again surprised by how he offered to let her go first. Her gaze flicked back to the TD and so without hesitation, she did make a run for the stairs. She knew the explosives would surely rock the building enough to stop their pursuers, of they even left some parts of the building intact, so they really had to get off soon.

Up on the roof, Maeve hurried to the edge, quickly checking what was going on outside, but so far there were no external reinforcements presents, which was more than relieving. As she spun, John was back, actually advising her on how to survive the jetpack ride without losing her legs and once again she was actually surprised by how he was not just abandoning her here. "Oh uhm...have you ever done this before?", it was a serious concern, but she quickly discarded it, knowing it was their only choice anyway.

She forced herself to a smirk as she hopped on while her heart was actually racing in her chest. She jumped up, hooking her legs around his legs, just like he had advised her and wrapping her arms around his neck before she tightly pressed herself onto his cold, metal armor. "Okay let's go". Not a second later did they shoot into the air, their flight being somewhat bumpy which made her heart little skip a beat. She wasn't afraid of heights, but here she was afraid to fall, even if itnwas hard to admit it to herself.

She closed her eyes, her cheek pressed against the beskar while she held onto him as best as she could, until they landed on the nearby roof. She was more than thankful for him shielding her from the impact as without any armor, she would have surely ended up scarred, if not worse.

"Fuck...I owe you one", she finally let go, panting, forcing her tensed up muscles to relax before she cleared her throat. It was the truth. She was used to dealing with freaking scumbags who tried to cross her at first chance, but he was actually...nice. And reliable. She was unscathed, at least nothing hurt.

With widened eyes she scanned the other, now imploded building that did at least offer the certainty about how their job was done. A wave of relief washed over her, however it didn't last long as she noticed that the Mandalorian had literally taken a hit for her. "Wait". Yes, they had to get out, but she hectically went through her pockets.

"Take this", she offered him a little bag with a greenish pill inside. "It's a strong painkiller with quick reaction times. It'll also thicken the blood around wounded areas, hence stopping the bleeding", her expressions were serious and she offered nothing but the truth. She knew her chems, and she knew they'd have to be quick.

"Let me help", she offered her arm for him to alleviate some of the pressure he put on his leg, walking next to him. "I'll get us a ride who won't ask questions". With her free hand, she'd swiftly pull out her phone and start typing. The explosion had been loud enough to be heard in a wide radius, so they had minutes at its best, so time was ticking.

The building they had entered looked rough, however somewhat abandoned. Actually not the worst place to lay low in. "Wait...we could also stay here. They'll assume we're on the run. We can hide here. It doesn't seem like it's inhabited at all". It was just an idea - she trusted his judgement on that, but it seemed like they had a few options. Here, she could fix his leg, but maybe someone would check the building..

As he was limping more than walking she called for him to wait. He shifted to prevent himself from falling. Before he could question the pill she was helping him walk and even trying to secure a getaway. It was obvious she was concerned even if she didn't realize how much it was showing. As they got into the building they landed on his lowlight mode highlighted the abandoned building. It was a storehouse it seemed or the criminals next door were taking advantage of it being abandoned.

He pointed across the level they were on. "There's rooms there let me lead just be my support since I'm the one who can see in here perfectly." He lead her to the rooms letting go of her he took out his blaster. "I'll clear them just cover me incase I need it." He went through and ungracefully cleared them. They were all empty except one it had a bed in it. Through grunts he waved her over. "We can hold up in the room if you want you can leave me till the heat is clear. I should be able to manage once I take the pill." He then would shuffle into the room plopping down on the bed keeping his leg clear. Taking off his helmet he would swallow the pill.

With him limping, they were really slow - slower than she wished. She did help him inside though, aiding him where she could while considering their options despite it being his call to either carry on or not. He didn't accept the pill just yet, but insisted on clearing the rooms first.

It was true - she couldn't see well and using something to shed light into the dark would potentially raise unwanted attention, so she reluctantly accepted. He was done a few moments later, having received certainty about being alone. It was safer knowing everything was clear, but moving through rooms left heat signatures in various places. Once the authorities would arrive - and that could have been any second by then - they'd have to remain quiet and in one place, so she followed him into the room with the bed without hesitation. "I'm staying". They still had to meet the contractor and get out of here alive.

He plopped down on the bed and immediately reached for the helmet - a detail she didn't miss. Wait. Wasn't that...bad? Or he an unconventional Mandalorian? "Do you have to shoot me now?", she asked, a hint of playful sarcasm in her voice but behind it was an actual question. She didn't look up to meet his gaze, but instead rummaged through her various inside pockets, fiddling for some sanitizer, an actual bandage and a bacta pad. "Did anything come through the armor? We can fix it with a compression bandage", she suggested, knowing they'd have some time to spare anyway. It would take hours before the coast would clear, so for now they were relatively stuck.

Rath was surprised when she said she would stay. He knew many people in this line of work would’ve left at the first opportunity. It had happened in the past when he would offer to stay back they even took the payment and disappear.

He was happy she stayed though. She seemed to know how to treat wounds and her medicines. Her question about shooting her made him cast a perplexed look towards her. “Why would I shoot you have you betrayed me somehow?” Still looking confused at her question.

He didn’t even think of something else injuring him or going through his armor. This caused him to pat it down. Feeling glass and other small objects stuck in it but nothing seemed to have completely made it through. “No nothing seems to have gone through though I may have to take off my chest piece as it does have some small debris in it. Thank you for asking.” He begin messing with the rebar seeing how well the pill he took actually was.

Staying inside for now meant not taking any chances of getting caught, but she really hoped that no one was suspecting anyone dwelling in the shabby, empty building they were in. After she had posed her semi-serious question, she felt his gaze on her and as perplexity crept into his voice, she did look up, meeting his actual gaze for the first time.

"Your...helmet is what I meant, I've never seen a Mandalorian without it before", she truthfully admitted. There was a first for everything, and apperently he was none of those following the old Code. To her, Mandalorians and their creed were relatively mysterious, but she as always she was curious and eager to learn as he didn't seem to bother. "I obviously haven't. I'd want to take a look at your wound though", she still clarified, placing her equipment on the bed and sitting down next his legs.

The wound on his leg didn't look great, but also not miserable, so nothing her med-kit ingredients wouldn't be able to fix for now. "May I?", she still asked for permission before she'd begin treating it, examining the rebar first before she'd notice that pulling it out was there best bet. It was unusual for Maeve to actually help strangers with honest intentions, but he had proven to be worthy of this rare side of hers.

While she still tended to the flesh wound at his leg, she glanced up quickly, asking, "how it it looking up there?", referring to his upper body. Her equipment and resources here were limited, but she was confident she could patch him up enough to get going in a few hours, when the middle of the night would provide enough natural cover. She noticed his body was scarred, but then again he was a warrior. She was also marked in various places, but nothing that severe. "Have you always been a Mandalorian?", another curious question suddenly escaped her as she met his gaze, finishing his leg with the bacta pad.
