Another Step in Life

Maia shook her head with a reassuring smile. "It's ok. I've moved on since then." she said looking back to her drink.

 

[Tristyn]

Ray smiled back,"Well, you are kinda like family to me. You are the only friend I have ever had"

 

[Algarus]

Adun had just made it back onto the shuttle. He was exhausted and worryed about catching something from the wild Akku he had killed not too long ago. He tossed the carcass onto the deck of the ship before stumbling into the medbay to nurse his wounds. He sighed as he removed his now blood stained coat and started disinfecting the cuts on his arm and shoulder. His cybernetic arm has numerous bite marks and scrathes along it, and some of the wiring and currcuitry would need replacing, but he killed the beast with his own hands; even if it almost killed him. Now he just had to remove the teeth and make a necklace..... A deeping from his communcation console snapped him out of his thoughts. He finished binding his wounds with guaze and moved towards the console, making sure to step over the dead creature on the deck. He pressed the play button and listened to Maia's message. Hearing Ray yelling something in the back ground before it cut off he smiled slightly and looked down at his latest kill. This would be a good engagment gift.... If he just knew how to make jewelery. After that, then he could go home.

Maia smiled giving Rayla a hug. "Thanks Rayla. You are like family to me too." she said.

 

[Tristyn]

Rayla was happy to hear that, considering what a failure her parents were in her eyes, it was awesome to have another person who cared for her and was willing to help when she needed it. She pulled out of the hug to address the issue of the children not sleeping,"We gotta do something about those two. They can't stay awake for so long everyday, but I think I have a plan. We could try meditating around them to calm them down"

Maia smiled when she pulled away. Then her mind wandered back to the babies. "I agree. And that sounds good. I don't know how they have so much energy even when staying up so late." She said with widened eyes and a small giggle.

 

[Algarus]

Adun grabbed the Akku body and dragged it back off the ship. Ray had taught him some basic Tortuga words and sentences, he just hoped that was enough to do what he needed done. He grabbed his bag of credits and threw the dead creature over his shoulder before setting ff down the ramp again towards the town. He really wanted to get back with his kids before they drove both her and Maia crazy. "Hope Ray didn't just teach me swear words....or this could go poorly."

 

[Tristyn]

Ray got up from her bed and waited for Maia to follow before she went in to see her kids who will still, as usual, making a noise and playing,"Alright guys, time to calm down and catch some z's" They turned around in their cot to giggle at there mom and bang on the fence that seperated them from her. Ray laughed and sat down to meditate, which was hard. Those children were loud and it was hard to concentrate.

Maia followed Rayla over to see the noisy little monsters who only giggled at Ray when she said it was time to calm down. Maia sat down next to Rayla and also started to meditate. Even though it was very noisy, Maia cleared her mind and focused on one thing. She focused on calmness and serenity. It may have been a little difficult, but when in a battle, she did the same thing, it helped her focus.

It took awhile, but after several long minutes of dead silence and meditation the children eventually stopped 'talking' and began to calm down. Ray opened one eye to see if they had fallen asleep only to be met with more laughing. She sighed and closed her eyes and carried on. About ten minutes passed and the babies and fell asleep next to each other, but so had Ray. She collapsed on the carpeted floor next to the crib. She never really liked to meditate because of how sleepy it made her.

Maia meditated until she heard giggling again, which startled her slightly. But she quickly ignored it and continued until they were completely quiet. She then heard a small thunk next to her and opened her eyes carefully to see that the babies were asleep.. but so was Rayla. Maia gave a small smile as she checked Ray, who was very very much asleep. Maia picked her up careful not to wake her and laid Rayla on her bed, basically tucking her in. There was a small window seat in the small living room area, so she sat down on that and meditated more waiting for Adun to come back.

 

[Algarus]

Adun walked the streets of the small town trying to find the same jewlery shop he saw last time they were here. It took him almost an hour but he managed to finally find it. Seeing a small sign written in poorly drawn basic, he went in. He found an old togruta man polishing a trophey of some creature, too distracted by the task at hand to notice him enter. Adun cleared his throat before speaking in a rather poor togrutan tounge. "Excuse me sir, could you help me with this?" The old man looked over at Adun, a confused expression upon his face. He stepped away from the trophey and moved towards Adun. The old togruta replied back, with Adun only making out a few words. "What you need?" The human sighed and set the Akul on the counter. He pointed to the teeth of the beast and tried explaining the best he could. "Engagement gift, need headdress. Can pay." The togruta looked up at him as Adun saw a smile stretch scross his wrinkled face before speaking in basic with thick ascent. "Your speaking skills need work. Something about engagment you say?" Adun nodded eagerly. "Yes, can you make it today? I'll pay whatever the cost is." The togruta's jae nearly fell when Adun stated his time frame. "One day? Thats not long enough. For proper engagment gift need at least two. Maybe even three. Teeth need to the be cleaned, polished, and then a matierial needs to be selected for a chain to hold them together. Sometimes takes up to week to ensure proper product." Adun sighed, he didn't want to keep Ray waiting for so long, because he wasn't sure when he would get another chance to take a day off his duties.

 

[Tristyn]

It would be more than an hour later before Rayla woke up and found her self floating in mid air. She looked around. She was still in her children's room, and they were quietly giggling at her with their cute little arms outstretched in her direction. They were using the Force to levitate her! Ray stared in shock and shouted out and hoped Maia was still here,"Maia! Adun! Help me please!!"

Maia woke from her meditating state as her eyes sprung open hearing Rayla yelling. She ran to where Rayla was and gasped her eyes widening as she smirked slightly before going over to Rayla. "It seems they have found out they have the force..." She stated as she helped bring Rayla carefully back down to the bed.

 

[Tristyn]

Ray was grateful for the help, but wasn't surprised that they were Force-sensitive,"I knew it. It was kinda obvious. No one but a Jedi can escape from terrible clutches, like at dinner time. These two always evade me. We were bound to find out sooner or later" She lifted up her hands and used the Force to float the babies in the air and then set them down on the floor. She only had to wait a couple of seconds before they closed in on her. Even though they could barely crawl as much as drag themselves on the floor with their hands and feet, but they were fast. They were gonna be just as strong as her mom. And just as rebellious.

She picked up Cain from the floor and snuggled him while Tamara tried to bite Maia's leg for the fun of it. "How did you sleep my little Jedi baby! Did you have sweet dreams? I dreamt that I killed a Sith Lord! Maybe you will do the same one day!"

Maia gave a small smile as Rayla explained that she was pretty much expecting it anytime. "I'm not too surprised, knowing that both you and Adun are force users.. I'm just surprised of how quickly it came along." she stated. Maia watched as Rayla lifted the two from the crib and both of the babies came crawling over to them.

As she saw Ray picking up Cain her focus quickly turned to Tamara who was just about to take a bite into Maia's leg. She panicked slightly, picking the little one up and hugging her. "Don't bite my leg silly." she smiled as she cuddled the little girl in her arms.

 

[Tristyn]

Ray turned to look at Maia and Tamara,"Just let her bite your knuckle or your leg or whatever. It soothes them and they don't have teeth yet, not for a few more months. Or at least that's what the doctor says. I let Cain nibble on my fingers sometimes"

Maia smiled remembering that their teeth weren't in yet. She put her finger near Tamara's mouth and she chomped down biting on Maia's finger. "Oh, right. I keep thinking teeth..." she giggled slightly looking back to the little one in her arms.

 

[Tristyn]

"Oh but once they turn one, their teeth will bite through durasteel", obviously they couldn't, but with such a big galaxy, not everybody knows that. "I'm kidding. But look-" Ray opened her mouth and pointed to her rather shark like teeth, designed to cut through really tough predators native to her species's homeworld,"Once they get this, they won't need to have their meat cut up for them!"

Maia's eyes must have had the look of fear in her eyes when Rayla said that they'd be able to cut through durasteel. "Huh??" she asked with a look on her face. Maia looked at Ray's teeth. "Well, at least they'll not be wanting to chomp on our fingers at that point... hopefully."
