Ask Arami the Slice

Arami a small planet in the slice due to the disarray among the Syndicates had somehow slipped under the control of a non aligned pirate group. This could not be tolerated, Jules had the entire Pyke fleet as well as more than two thousand heavily armored Crimson Dawn warriors. He had put out the call and more than two dozen Vanguards along with their troops had answered his call.

Jules had arrived two days early to survey the planet and form his battle plan. There were almost no satellites in orbit and most of those were receiving not actively scanning. He had he believed located all of the enemy pirates points of interest. Target coordinates had been set when he had been startled by a previously unknown ship.

On the back side of the moon he had found a DP-20 Corellion gunship. He had slowly scanned the ship and had come to realize that it was flanked by two enormous barges. The barges were being used as a make shift space dock.

The infrequent stream of freighters appeared to be delivering a significant amount of equipment to theFrigate. The only power he could discerned was from a generator on one of the barges. Jules didn't know how these pirates had acquired the ship but he knew that they weren't going to keep it. The good thing about having the best slicers in the galaxy is the technology and interface. The moment the fleet jumped in he would transmit the battle plan and ship assignments.

[Harleen]

Harleen wasn't sure how she kept ending up in this position, this was twice now.. she'd always considered herself more of an advanced shock trooper than a capital ship running admiral thingy. In either case she stood onboard the Pyke Syndicate's Z-27 Syndicate-Class Corvette, they were going to be exiting hyperspace soon for the small planet of Arami, in truth Harleen had never been to the planet, and knew very little about it, how it could possibly be meaningful to the Syndicates, Harleen couldn't know, but she was being paid... so here she way, captaining a ship far larger than she had done before..

Once the ship exited hyperspace the planet was in view through the transparisteel windows, but that wasn't all.. half a second later one of the Pyke crewmen yelled over to her, Harleen, we have a frigate parked in orbit, looks like it's docked with two smaller ships.. Harleen wasn't ready for that this early, and the Pyke calling her by her real name indicated to her how they viewed her, to them she wasn't leadership, they didn't revere her, she was simply the one who was put in charge of this vessel for this operation, which was fine to her, leadership wasn't really her thing...

Well.. shoot it.. Harleen replied, less than professionally.. the frigate was far larger than Harleen's Corvette, so getting the upper hand immediately was going to be key.. it would take them a moment to get the ship's armament, as well as their turbolasers online, but Harleen wanted them active as soon as possible..

[Mae Tecono]

Mae showed up in the Pykes newly acquired Adz-class Corvette. It was her job to see if this hunk of junk was worthy to be among the ranks of the Pyke fleet. She picked a hell of a mission to test it out as they were up against a much larger ship. As she came into the system, she saw that Harleen was already there with her corvette. Her corvette was already a battle tested pride of the syndicates. Mae decided to make contact but could not remember Harleens call sign. She decided to wing it with a smile "Boomette 1, come-in, Boomette 1, this is Trinity 1, do you copy? I have arrived to your rear, where would you like me?" She sent over coms to Harleen.

She then ordered her flight crews to their bombers and boarding shuttles, as she prepared for battle.

After further inspection of what they were up against, Mae noticed their target ship was none other then a Vengeance-class Frigate. Which would be a huge gain for the Pyke Syndicate. However, it could potentially be hazardous to Harleen, Mae, and the Pyke fleet, as it is a very powerful ship which, if awoken, could bring hell down upon them.

[Samuel Blood]

Sam had been on-site with @Julius Arvo, he had been one of the few Crimson Dawn to really be active as of late, though admittedly it was mostly doing other people's work.. Sam clinked alongside the man, his heavy armour and wide array of vibroweapons being hard to hide. The DP-20 Corellion gunship they'd spotted the day before had appeared to be inactive, living off the life support of the barges that kept feeding it life, probably hoping to bring the big ship back to life, but having little progress, at least in the two days they'd been there.

He wasn't exactly sure what they were doing here on the ground, the pirates who owned the planet mostly operating out of that Vengeance-class Frigate they spotted making regular stops to receive ships from the surface, and send more back. Hopefully their backup was coming in heavily armed, if not they could be in for quite the fight, as neither of the two larger ships here were any joke by themselves, together they'd be quite the challenge, with any luck the Gunship would actually be inoperable, evening the field a little..

Yo Jules.. Sam said, pointing at the sky, two corvettes had entered the orbit, visible from their location, though the frigate on the horizon appeared larger than either one of the ships that had arrived.. he watched as the frigate started to move in response to the new arrivals.. things were about to get very real..

"Dawn 1 to Syndicate fleet prepare to receive data burst,"began Jules, "included is the transponder codes and frequencies of every ship operated in system for the last two days." "Locate and lock those frequencies target them for destruction, be advised that the Frigate and barges are dead and powered by a maintenance generator. Destroy anything that approaches or leaves that Frigate." Jules continued.

After a breath he finished, " Ground targets have been prioritized for bombardment, no ship larger than a 5-T have been observed in the last two days."

Switching frequency he then broadcast, " Dawn 1 to all Dawn units wait for conclusion of bombardment then perform 100% clean sweep."

 

[Harleen]

Harleen had spotted that the DP-20 Corellion gunship was hardly alive, the twin barges on either side just barely enough to keep the lights on inside, this would have been fine except the monstrous Vengeance-class Frigate loomed nearby, they must of been scrapping the former to keep the latter operational.. either way, the fact that just one of the Frigates was operational was certainly a boon to them, but still left them at a slight disadvantage.

A half a moment later the full armament of her corvette opened up, unleashing hell on the Frigate, she just hoped it would be enough. Firing in a random wave the dual medium laser cannons started first all six of them letting out wave after wave, followed shortly by the corvettes turbolasers, they may have only been light turbolasers, but they were still turbolasers, and finally the ion cannons joined in. It only took Harleen a few seconds after opening fire to realize the thing either didn't have shields or that they weren't engaged.. What the Fhtagn... she whispered to herself before quickly firing up her comms, The Frigates shields aren't on! Fire fire fire! She yelled over the comms. As it turned out the ship was not equipped with them, though that wasn't information Harleen had, as she was not familiar with this specific ship.

Even without shields the ship's hull was holding together, it must of been made with hundreds of layers of whatever metal was holding it together, as the turbolasers and the rest of the armament of the Z-27 Syndicate-Class Corvette she sat inside of continued to slam against it, though acute progress could be seen being made.

Harleen's eyes widened as she saw the enemy Frigate's own turbolasers start to warm up and begin spitting through the air, it was clear they were heavy ones... Kriff.. she said as the first strike landed against her shields, though they held the wobble made Harleen wonder how long they would..
