Battle of Saleucami
War has come to pass between the Galactic Alliance and the New Sith Impreium. Across the galaxy, the Border Worlds, planets, systems and sectors, have been intertwined in the strife, planted in the crossfire between the two galactic powers. And now, one of the most distant of the Border Worlds, has come under attack. Now, war has come to Saleucami.
Set in the Regions of the Outer Rim, Saleucami is a key world, sitting on the Talcene Transit Hyperlane; a trade route for goods and supplies which crossed interstellar paths with the super-hyperroute, known as the Perlemian Trade Route. Technological exports and research centers are among the planet's appeal. However, perhaps Saleucami's most hidden prize is the botanical resources located within the planet's calderas, which are largely unexploited and unmolested.
With the war still in it's relative infancy, the Sith Imperium has since targeted strategic worlds, with Saleucami being the latest of it's assaults. The invasion has commenced, and so begins the Battle for Saleucami.
Locations
1 Orbital Battlefield
This one is obvious; the first battle will be the starship battle in orbit over Saleucami, which if won, will open the doorway for the successive battle on the planet. This is a full-scale invasion, so NPC strength for either side will be roughly 20 warships per side, so forty warships in total will be duking it out, in addition to starfighters.
3 Planetary Battlefields
1 Orbital Battlefield
This one is obvious; the first battle will be the starship battle in orbit over Saleucami, which if won, will open the doorway for the successive battle on the planet. This is a full-scale invasion, so NPC strength for either side will be roughly 20 warships per side, so forty warships in total will be duking it out, in addition to starfighters.
There will be three simultaneous battles on Saleucami's surface, each three separate battlefields. These three battlefields will be isolated from each other, in the sense that they will have no impact on one another. This also makes it so that winning a planet takes more than fighting on one battlefield, and the greater diversity keeps the battles interesting. Also keeps things interesting in the event of a non-total victory, in which case some parts of the planet are enemy controlled.
NPC forces will be ambiguous (the whole planet's being attacked, so let's settle on a lot), although the PCs will control one platoon, about fifty men. This is to allow the PCs to control plenty of troops without being given too much singular control, despite the IC control they would otherwise have.
How It'll Work & What We'll Need
The ship limits are 20 each, which will be capital ships, with some supporting vessels, besides a vast company of fighters and bombers. As far as PCs go;
- 2 PCs per side for space as fleet commanders and/or starfighter commander.
- 2 PCs per side for first battlefield, which will be Saleucami's capital.
- 2 PCs per side for second battlefield, which will be around Saleucami's Magma Caverns
- 2 PCs per side for the third battlefield, which will be in a cluster of calderas that have developed into a large oases.
