Well, Day 1 DLC can kinda depend on a number of factors, including the actual time needed to develop it, versus the game discs going gold and being distributed for release worldwide. Witcher 3 went gold a few days ago, and its release is a month away - and a month is plenty of time to finish development on say, a new map in a shooter game. Mind you, if people are able to find evidence of the DLC being in some form complete and on the disc, that just rather change the circumstances.

No Single Player Campaign could go either way, depending on how much content the rest of the game has. After all, several games get by just fine without one. On the other hand, games like TF2 are wholly owned by the ones making them, and not reliant on existing lore that people might wanna have fun with on their own time, and not risk getting stuck with unhelpful teammates. I suspect its based off their experiment with Titanfall, though even that had a 'campaign', even if just the multiplayer maps with a little story context around them.

No space combat or campaign? Blegh. I bet it's going to have weapon addons as well.

Looks like I won't concern myself with the new Battlefront anymore.

No prequel era though. Which I like.

So, the website's launched, and whilst there may not be a dedicated campaign, there does appear to be offline play, possibly just solo missions.

I was gonna find my PS2 just for this game so I could play Battlefront 1 and 2 but... In hindsight never mind. I find it really disappointing that they aren't going to have a single player campaign nor space battles. Also day one DLC sounds like ME3, but at least you don't have to pay for it.

Can I still play this by myself with a bunch of bots? That is what I did on Battlefront 2 since I had no online for my Xbox.

Still... wow.

They had a caveat when they announced that, though. It wasn't launching with any prequel era content.

I know. Which for me still means no prequel era, because I won't be paying money for that shit.

So... I'm not the only one disappointed that after a year, and with less than a year to go, the trailer they show is 'in engine' rather than, y'know, gameplay right?

So we are getting a Battlefront game with...

No Campaign
No Space Battles
No Prequel era stuff.
Some playable heroes like Vader and Fett.
40 vs 40 matches
Some single player/co op stuff like the older games had.

These battle maps better be big and epic and amazing.

Then they'll roll out the $39.99 DLCs with all of it.

Oh yeah, have to retract my statement a bit: Part of what they showed off today is the presumed Jakku DLC, which if they're putting side by side with the rest of the game for advertising purposes, well, says that its fairly along and they're leaving it out of the game because reasons.

Silly reasons.

So there's been a few pieces of information that have been released for Battlefront 3.

Day 1 Free DLC! **** you EA just put it in the goddamn game from the start then.

Battlefront 3 will NOT have space battles. One again, **** you EA.

Battlefront DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN! ONCE AGAIN, **** YOU EA!

My interest in this game has taken a sudden nose-dive.

Oh, it's also coming out November 17th, 2015.

I'm with you on this one. Worse news I could have ever heard about the upcoming game. And while I certainly don't think the prequel movies were all that, the battles, in my opinion, translated well to the first two battlefronts on console and it's absolutely egregious we won't be able to touch any of those fights. Space or otherwise.

**** EA.

I did the same for about two years "with friends ever blue moon"
"Yellow my text"
So we are getting a Battlefront game with...

No Campaign - Lame
No Space Battles - Really lame, come on it 2015 EA
No Prequel era stuff. - ...I like Prequel so, again lame.
Some playable heroes like Vader and Fett. -So just the main heroes at best
40 vs 40 matches -I like that, bigger than BF2.
Some single player/co op stuff like the older games had. -Some singler player = Training. If they have soldiers vs wamps or Gungun vs droids that be cool

These battle maps better be big and epic and amazing.
Agree^
I also hope it as Hero vs Villain stuff too.

The tattooine map that had all heroes and villains fighting each other was so much fun.

I loved flying around as the Emperor choking people, so OP... But as Phil said, those maps better have destructible environments, multiple objectives and look amazing or not worth my money.
