Just curious I was thinking of reading some more Star Wars books. I've heard Timothy Zahn is a good writer but what is the first book in his series? I've already all the Jedi Quest series a long time ago lol and I've read Darth Bane trilogy, I've read a couple other good one's too Death Troopers I think it was called. Good stuff! :D

Any other good books like death troopers?

New Jedi Order is good, but it uses a lot of characters and events from other books.

I, Jedi and the Jedi Academy Trilogy was fun. The X-Wing Books were good.

Lots of books can be skipped over (cough)Crystal Star and Children of the Jedi (cough).

Splinter of the Mind's Eye is interesting- it's the first Star Wars book out, before Empire Strikes Back. Shadows of the Empire is a good book.

As for the Deathtroopers sequel, they're making a prequel instead named Red Harvest. Coming out in December.

What? How does it use events from other books? The Yuuzhan Vong are only in the NJO. And as for characters, everything after RotJ uses familiar characters...

NJO was by far the best because it wasn't Jedi vs. Sith or Jedi vs. Sith + Mandos.

If he hasn't read any books hed be out of the loop on some somewhat major players.
Hapans- Courtship of Princess Leia
Corran Horn- I, Jedi
Solo Kids- Dark Empire
Mara Jade- Thrawn
Centerpoint- Corellian trilogy

You can read the series without it, but jumping into a 19 book story without background information (which is useful in NJO) seems rough.

I jumped into reading NJO's Sacrifice without background info back before I joined this site. I was confused as ****.

The NJO was the first series of Star Wars books I ever read.

I've only read the Thrawn trilogy, the junior-oriented novelisations (as a child/young teenager), the first bunch of NJO (need to finish), the Han Solo trilogy (orgasmically awesome), Shadows of the Empire, and Truce at Bakura (****ing retarded).

I also read Children of the Jedi whilst in middle school. Han Solo and Leia's rushed wedding was in that one.

You'd be good to go. Thrawn Trilogy is a good place to start.
