Stobar - Outer Rim Sector
Not exactly the planet Sybella had in mind when it came for a respite but with supplies running low, she had no choice but to stop and restock. Stobar was a dark and shadowy planet; unfortunately, it was well known for its violence and criminal presence. Not wishing to draw much attention to herself, the Jedi knight concealed her lightsabers amongst the folds of her baggy robes. She also drew her shawl across her face, hiding much of it except for her eyes. The service droids would need time to complete the refuel and routine maintenance - as much as she disliked the idea, Sybella thought it best to venture off and have a wander.

She didn't go far, however. Close by was a cantina, choke full of crooks and convicts - such pleasant company.

Slipping in unnoticed, Sybella sat at one of the private booths. Her most recent mission was particularly draining; even now, she still felt fatigued. Perhaps a drink and a quick meal for help to reinvigorate her otherwise depleted energy. Despite her otherwise aloof demeanour, Sybella was ever watchful of those around her. Already, there seemed to be some sort of tension brewing; voices were being raised and there was an exchange of shove. A game of sabacc gone wrong, perhaps? More than likely.

For the most part, the Jedi tried to ignore it. The last thing she wanted right now was a fight...

Of course, it was cremek here today, caught up in a friendly game, cremek was rarely one to have "fun" so to speak, but he had been sent here to search for potential new recruits to their cause, he had figured he would pass some time in a cantina, and a friendly game, of course he had to choose the biggest bloke he had ever had the displeasure to lay eyes on, but hey, that was part of the fun, a few bets later, and this buffoon was screaming into his face, accusing him of cheating, HIM, OF ALL PEOPLE!... well okay maybe he did cheat a little, but hey, how could they know, huh? the force is a powerful tool indeed. and of course, others got drawn into it on both sides, while cremek decided to play the role of a poor man who had simply gotten drawn into an unfortunate situation. the tavern was beginning to grow quite rowdy, and cremek was enjoying every second of it! he just sits at his chair, as these big lads lose focus on him and begin to verbally attack each other, oh how he could watch this for HOURS!

The situation was escalating rather quickly, even for a backwater tavern. With a narrow of the eyes, Sybella couldn't help but scan one or two of the patrons. With so much hostility rife in the air, the Jedi actually had a hard time locating the real source. Though not completely sure, it was almost certainly a possibility that someone, somewhere in the cantina, was manipulating the people in the near vicinity. That could only mean one this...

A Force user...

Perking up somewhat, Sybella didn't immediately suspect a Sith. The Outer Rim was uncharted territory; plenty of people possessed the Force, they just didn't always figure out how to use it well enough for purpose.

Rising from her seat, the cloaked lady moved like a shadow, slipping in and out from between the feuding people. She wasn't trying to stop the fight - that would be crazy, and draw unnecessary attention. Instead, Sybella tried tracing the source of such abnormal ire. Whilst looking around, a drunken Twi'lek stumbled rather haphazardly into view; he would have surely bumped into her had Sybella not skillfully evaded him - curiously enough, without even havng to look in his direction.

Cremek continues to spectate, while he certainly was getting his kicks, he wasn't truly here to cuase trouble, but this sure was entertaining to watch, hell, he didn't even need to instigate anything, his favorite kind of conflict.

He leaned back into his chair, a satisfied grin formed under his mask. And that's when it happens.. one of the big blokes, looses his temper, and strikes a man clean in the jaw, sending him tumbling back..

"And now.. the show begins"

Cremeks smirk became a full grin..
The cantina exploded into violence, with angry drunks attacking eachother left and right, cremek makes sure to stay well clear, not that he didn't mind fighting, but because he simply wanted to watch, he crosses one leg over the other, resting his cheek on his knuckles as he spectated the debacle.

Sybella stopped abruptly short of her next step, just as a man was knocked straight into her path. Staring down at him, and then at the hulking aggressor, the Jedi gave a rueful sigh. It couldn't be helped. Incensed beyond reason, the biggest of the blokes tried to make a grab at Sybella. She, of course, didn't allow this and instead took hold of his arm, twisting it one way before bending it back in the opposite direction. With a yowl, the cretin threw himself back, now a little wiser and a lot more wary.

If only the others were so wise. A Zabrak charged, swiping with a broken bottle; Sybella kicked the weapon straight up and out of the alien's hand, causing it to shatter on the ceiling above. Dumbfounded, the horn-headed hoodlum stood and stared for a moment until Sybella swiped his legs out right from under him with a well-practised kick.

Growing tired of such mayhem already, the knight somehow managed to manoeuvre herself up and onto the bar itself. She stood there, looking rather bewildered at the sudden calamity before.

"Madness..." She whispered, "Utter madness..."

Cremek was rather impressed with this display, his eyes narrowed on the woman.

"Now that's interesting.." he thought to himself

he made a mental note of her, before continuing to spectate, making a few occasional jeers to egg on the show. But he kept the woman in the corner of his eye, that's someone who knows what's she's doing. And someone to keep awareness of.. the violence would grow more intense, until someone in the crowd, drew a blaster.. fireing into a man's gut, this surprised cremek, but his surprise was more pleasant than shock.

A blaster shot ran out in the middle of the crowd, but where exactly, Sybella wasn't sure. The scene was simply too chaotic, with everyone making a mad dash for cover. Only when some of the masses had dispersed was the Jedi knight then able to see the extent of the damage.

Someone was injured. Shot, to be more specific.

Against her better judgement, Sybella jumped down in order to rush to their aid. Admittedly, she wasn't very skilled in the art of healing, but perhaps with the right pressure, the injury could be-

A shadow stood above her. It was some Rodian was standing, blaster in hand. It seemed like he wanted to finish the job, regardless of Sybella's presence. He was going to shoot. It didn't matter if she was hit as well. With no choice, the veiled lady stuck out her hand, deflecting the gun's energy bolt with nothing but the Force. To those not watching close enough, it would look like nothing more than a mere fluke.

That is until Sybella launched the Rodian back with an all-mighty Force push. With an exasperated sigh, she couldn't help but wonder aloud, "Could things get any worse?"

"a force user..."

Of course, how could he have been so blind as to not detect her presence?..

It all made sense to him now..he gave a low chuckle to himself, sitting up right, this simple distraction had just gotten much.. much more interesting, he weighs his options, as far as he could tell, he had the element of surprise, maybe a good usage of force lightning while her back is turned.. no she would sense that as he prepped it. Further study will be needed before he engages the council lap dog.

"Tsk tsk... How to go about this.." cremek would think to himself, before he decided to simply let this play out, a thinking sith chose his conquests, he saw no reason to reveal himself... Yet.

his eyes wander down to the poor lad shot in his gut, moaning on the floor in pain.

"Bic's shi a gunshot hut'uun. ve'ganir laam.." he would say out loud in Mando'a, shaking his head.
Translation for those inclined: It's only a gunshot coward.. get up..

Turning her attention to the man on the floor, Sybella tried the best she could to ease his pain. Wounds to the lower abdomens were tricky to treat; the injury was essentially a mortal one, with many dying as a result. The veiled lady was no healer, but at least she could offer the poor soul some kind of comfort.

She thought about trying to get the man to a medical facility, but most of the patrons had started to clear out; there was no one to offer any aid. Didn't the stranger have any companions or friends?

It didn't matter much. The hand holding on to hers had gone limp; a check of the pulse confirmed as much. The man was dead. Looking around, Syeblla expected a crowd of spectators but instead, people were still causing havoc - guzzling drinks and swiping at discarded credits. Not even a hint of humanity.

The Rodian from earlier had found his feet and had started hollering off something in a language Sybella didn't know. From the tone alone, she could only guess they were the typical expletives and curses. The fool was stupid enough to charge at her, but the Jedi simply sidestepped and tripped him up.

"I don't want to fight you." That much was true, "But I will if I have to."

Grabbing at a concealed knife, the green-skinned humanoid slashed at her; those in the remaining crowds cheered at the apparent 'entertainment'. Sybella just felt annoyed. When the knife came within range, she would strike out and grip onto the Rodian's offending wrist. Despite her rather lithe appearance, the knight was deceptively strong; she twisted the alien's wrist until he had no other choice than to release the knife. Removing that danger, Sybella took hold of his collar and then proceeded to slam her head against the humanoid soft snout. He fell to the floor, cradling his now bleeding mouth.

"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes..."

Cremek would continue to spectate, shaking his head, he would stand, dusting himself off, maybe it was indeed time to reveal himself? He made sure to suppress himself, this was a game to him after, all, and leaving people bewildered was his second favorite thing to do.. besides experimentation.

He would approach the rodian, his head tilts, as if he insuring the man was awake, when he was certain he was, his boot raised, and was brought down on the poor man's head in a vicious curb stomp.

"Weaklings disgust me. Hut'uuns all around.." he would mutter, before taking a entire bottle of rancor fury, not like the cantina droid could stop him, it was thrown out a while ago. waltzing back to his corner, his sits down with a content sigh.

Such savagery. The Rodian was down on the floor already, there was no need for further violence. Simmering internally at the stranger's disgusting actions, Sybella couldn't help be lash out. Not directly, of course. No, her response was far more creative.

The glass bottle, housing the Rancor Fury, would crack and shatter. Had Sybella willed the Force to do such a thing? Perhaps. Was she going to play dumb and act all innocent? Most definitely.

"Oh, my." She exclaimed, somewhat dramatically. "Rotten luck..."

He looked more or less intrigued, his head tilting to show his interest. He let his suppression down for just a moment as he resisted the urge to let her know who she was messing with.

"Oh my, rotten luck indeed, here I was just wanting a drink, and to punish the man who attempted to assault me over a game of chance.."

His tone was taunting, as if he was completely and totally innocent and unaware of the savagery he had caused for the sake of his own sick entertainment. He politely offered his hand to shake.

"My people respect strong fighters, and you are not hut'uun enough to step into a fight, you have my respect.."

Looking at the carnage that had already ensued, all over a 'game of chance', Sybella seemed less than impressed. Tugging at her veiling shawl, the took a moment to assess the man that stood before her, not that there was much to see, given his armoured attire. Was a bounty hunter, perhaps?

Maybe a warmonger, given the earlier brutality. "I think there has been more than enough 'punishment'."

Again, the knight tried once more to gauge this stranger. Sybella was usually a good judge of character, but looking behind a mask was quite impossible. The fact she struggled to 'read' him at all was rather alarming in itself.

Perhaps that is why she hestiated when he offered her his hand. Would refusing it cause yet another confrontation? Finally, after much debate, she accepted the gesture. "And who exactly are your people?"

"there can never be enough punishment, death is a preferable outcome, usually."

His grip was firm yet dainty, as he shook her hand. He would vote rather than a direct shock, he would passively drain her, as he gave it a firm shake. He would let it go, maintaining his drain as long as he dared.

He would place his hand to his chest in mock offense, giving a dramatic gasp.

"My people?... My people.."
This resonated with cremek, yes, his mother had thrown him to the wolves when he was a child, but he still considered himself at least partially a mandalorian.. or a dar'manda at least.

"Right, my people. I grew up on Concord dawn, you see?"

Pulling her hand back, perhaps more harshly than she intended, Sybella was momentarily sluggish. Had the stranger meant to create such an effect, or was it subconscious? She couldn't tell...yet.

"Concord dawn? So, you're a Mandalorian then?" Now that she thought about it, that would explain a few things. The certain phrases that he uttered, not to mention the somewhat combative nature and full armoured attire. Many still followed the old way, not showing their faces to anyone outside of their clan - maybe this stranger was of such converts.

Sybella had actually met a Mandalorian or two; despite their factions' rather sordid past with one another, the encounters had been rather positive. Perhaps there was hope for them yet. It would be best if Sybella avoided further insulting him then, especially if he may possess the Force.

"I meant, no offence, warrior. Travelling in the Outer Rim can be quite...taxing."
She couldn't even remember the last time she had stepped foot in a temple. Up until now, the knight had pretty much been nomadic, living out of her ship whilst traversing the galaxy on missions. "If you don't mind me asking, what brought you all the way out here?"

"Well you see, I'm what you can consider a dar'manda.. no real direct translation.." He ponders a moment, thinking of a word that would translate to basic, before snapping his fingers.

"not truly an exile, not truly an accepted member of society, due to us being.. selective of our beliefs. My forebears were Dar'manda before me, as they served the first galactic empire in what is known as the desolation of mandalore, or the night of one thousand tears, therefore there is little hope for me to atone, not like it matters, I feel no true desire to be considered a "true" mandalorian.."

He maintained his drain on her, Feeding off her energy like a damned vampire, though due to her removing her hand, the effect was far less than as if he was directly touching her. His voice became more.. taunting yet still remained in its smooth, almost musical tone, as he began machinations to put her in the popular chess phrase known as "check"

"and what brings me here?.. well a myriad of things. recruiting for my "organization" is one of them."

He began to lightly pace in front of her, his hand on his chin, as if he was contemplating something important, while in truth he was maintaining focus to keep a small area drain on her, he wanted to chip away at her while he had the element of mystery.

"What about you, what are you here for?"

Focusing on the stranger's words was becoming increasingly more difficult; the longer he spoke, the more weary Sybella felt. It was him, she was almost certain of it, and it wasn't without purpose. A Force barrier would form between him and her, shielding the knight from any further drain. She had entertained outlander long enough.

Backing up a few steps, the Jedi subtly eyed at some of the cantina's exits.

"I'm just a nomad." She lied, "Was on my way to visit family, actually. I shouldn't keep them waiting..."

Moving to leave, with her body angled away, Sybella's hand ghosted over one of her sabers. Just in case...

cremek sighed, he now dropped the act and the suppression, it was now or never.
"Now, jedi, surely you can spare some time, I always find it enjoyable to hear from your kind.. what you think, how you feel."

cremek put his hands behind his back under his cloak, where he stored his saber, he had his hand on it if a quickdraw was needed. shaking his head, this woman was so dense! here he was hoping to "play" and this woman didn't want to move her pieces!

"you are one dense woman, I had you in my gaze the moment you kicked that drunk, well done by the way. But enough games, unless you wish to continue our civil conversation, which i'm all for, otherwise I simply cannot allow you to be a potential thorn in MY "family's" side."

Sybella should have just stayed on the ship. Was there some sort of cosmic target on her back? Was the Force trying to test her? Sith were crawling out of hiding, left, right and centre. First on Barison, and now here. It couldn't be help, darkness would also seek to snuff out the light. When the knight dropped the veil of her shawl, so too did her pleasant demeanour.

Replacing it instead was a look of stoic fortitude. "I've had more than enough encounters with you and your kind. It never ends well...for them."

Though not much for games, Sybella was more than willing to make the first move when it came to combat. "And I'd be careful who you go calling dense. I'm no mere thorn. You see, I actually consider myself more of a spark; one that will light a fire so great, it will burn to ashes you and your Order."

Instead of activating her saber, as the Sith might think, Sybella's free hand erupted in flame. Pyrokinesis was a rather flamboyant ability, but it was one the Jedi had grown fond of. The alcohol-soaked floor made for perfect kindling, and in seconds was ignited in a blaze of heat. Though it was an offensive move, it wasn't the knight's only attack. Drawing her blue blade, she cut out amongst the fire, swiping at the Sith across his chest. If the dark sider had any sense, he would move back and keep his distance.

Patrons (who had foolishly stayed up until now) quickly ran out of the now-burning establishment. It was just the two of them now. The Jedi and the Sith.

the sith sorcerer of course quickly would use Tutaminis, deflecting the saber away from his chest, then he moved back, like a gust of wind, moving like a corkscrew, as he gave her a mad cackle.

"MY KIND!? oh my dear, you have yet to see a sith like me!.. oh my dear, if you're a spark, then all you will create is shadows in your wake, and who do you think you are, thinking you have the right to upseat the careful balance that is the force, jedi, if my time amongst my people taught me one thing, it's that you simply cannot kill an idea, as long as knowledge of the force exists, so will BOTH OF US!"

He would activate his saber in turn, lowering his saber in a german fencers fools guard-esque style, he would not attack, but he would focus, shutting out the noise, the panicked screams of the fools running outside, he lifted glasses of rancor fury near the counter, he threw it in a line, letting the flames flow towards her.

"you are not brave, jedi, you've
merely forgotten the fear of fighting an equal... allow me to re-acquaint you.."
