"Valid argument there Ervius,but thankfully for me i have learned to keep my mouth shut and mind my buisness.Last time i chose to be a hero i ended up stranded in the outer rim space."

They moved through the debris carefully,scanning the various relefs and scrollings on the walls,marvelling in the forgoten majesty of the ruins.He didnt mind the roaring ball of purple flame cause at this point this might be the least weird thing.He looked at the data pad on his hand and it seems the lost expadition markings reappered.He stood for a solid second and looked carefully.It seems they made camp deeper in the ruins,interesting.As he was studing his finding he heard the conversation between the too Sith.Earlier he had activated his helmet camera recorder,something he was doing regularly while exploring.and he listened hard and listened well.This kind of knowledge was dangerous.He had read about the ancient legents of the old republic,and that name,Revan.He had to keep going tho,cause he had a mission of his own.As they were moving forward they came across the large open space he saw in the map.It seems less delapitated than the entrance.Sure some ruble and depris and the damage of time but the tall collums,connecting with monolithic arches and the surviving statues of ancient Jedi adorn the chamber.

"This is...amazing...Dantooine is full of suprises"

As he looked around,his wrist data pad pinged again and he looked around.There it was.At one of the corners of the room was an old camp site,with a now roten and destroyed tent,a comling and some small crates.He moved closser to investigate.His heart was racing,waiting to find he corpe of the explorer but the camp was abandoned...and very quickly at that.

"They left everything behind...i dont like this." he said in a whispering tone.He looked around the tend,opened the crates and even the backpack,but he found nothing."Wait...whats that?"He lifted a rock and its sims like a data pad.He quickly grabbed it and stored it under his cloak.He stood up and turned to the other Sith.

"This campsite was abandoned in a hurry and as it seems...they went deeper in the ruins",pointing at the track marks.

"keep your wits about you, there's a reason I wanted to do this alone.. places like this can drive even a sith lord mad."

Cremek called back, there was a reason he was proceeding so carefully, ghost, spirits, those who remain, could try to lead him astray, an iron will would be needed if you wanted to stay here for more than a couple days.. thankfully, that is exactly what cremek had, a fierce, fiery determination to succeed.. He pressed onward, making his way to the archives.

“A golden age?” Ervius mused, watching their mercenary companion out of the corner of his eye.

The man had his own motives for exploring the ruins and had stated as much earlier. Ervius cared little for it. Even if the man had ulterior motives, there were two sith here.

Watching out for those around him was an old habit, born from many imperial expeditions. Ervius hated losing team members. Trained professionals we’re precious, even more so if they knew him and vice versa.

”That’s an apt metaphor, I think,” he refocused on the conversation. ”Someone needs to mine the ore, others smelt it. Others still mint it into ingots. And then someone makes use of it. No being is a fortress onto themselves. And directing the Dark Side towards creation — my, that’s a principle straight from alchemy.”

Ervius surveyed the chamber and noted the trademark features of that era still shining through the rubble. If he had the resources of the Empire at his disposal, he would have already secured the place and had all the points of interest marked for his perusal. Alas, the entire Sith Order had been reduced to a glorified band of fugitives. People in their current position had resources to spare for archaeology.

“How I miss the days when I could flood the place with probe droids and let them map out a floor plan for me…” Ervius said with a sigh. He looked at the approaching mercenary. “Not that I have a particularly high opinion of rival expeditions, but it does seem rather bizarre. If they retreated, why did they go deeper inside? The opposite direction is rather more sensible… Provided, they were indeed fleeing.”

"I am a sith sorcerer, a disciple of that art.. Anyways, believe me.. if we do strike gold here, we will never need the empire again.."

cremek now stood at a door, the pitch blackness trying to engulf his brilliant orange saber, this was it.. the archives..

"Now it's either make or break, but the only thing breaking will be our sanity, but can you just imagine, finding Revan's holocron?.. knowledge.. think of the glory we could win, being vanguards of a resurgence.. he pauses, pacing like he was before. If you want to turn away now, do it, and I wouldn't blame both of you, knowledge can be both uplifting and damning.. we may find something we don't want to see.. that could scar us, no going back."

"Hmmm...i think they tried to run..." Hak looked at some undisturbed footprints.He tried to follow them but they were frantic,like someone..ro something else was here.He looked around the room with more focus this time,"...scratch mark...four claws...",he followed the steps again and it clicked,and turned to Ervius.

"They tried to leave,but something got in and begun hunting them.See the footprints and the clawmarks.They were chased...thats why the camp was untouuched and left in a hurry.But it doesnt makes sense." Hak stood and looked around again "The front door was closed...unless this thing was already inside and the expedition woke it up".He turned and begun walking carefully towards the sith with the ignited saber,at the same time he is still recording everything.And he remembered that name...Revan,a hero and a villain.He focused back on the words of the hooded sith and with a calm tone,

"Knowledge...as much as my gut tells me that it was a bad idea coming here...this little treasure hunt goes deeper than i anticipated.Definatly not doing this for glory or fame...but i dont thing something good i waiting behind that door.If its dead.,good.If not...its pretty big."

He shruged and chuckled and with an audible grin he said,"...but i aint going back now...i am going to lose all the fun" and drew closer to the closed door.

“What boring beast could have chosen this ruin for shelter?” Ervius chuckled. “Or… I wonder if some of the temple’s inhabitants were not as true to the light as they claimed to be. It would not be out of the ordinary for this particular enclave. Moreover, this defense does not look very Jedi.”

He waved his hand over the dark screen and saw it swirl around whatever area his palm hovered over. The barrier appeared almost sentient in how it responded to Ervius’s prodding. Undoing it would not be straightforward. He would not dare assault the nearby walls for fear of causing total collapse of the ruins above.

”I feel the need to point out that Revan’s only known holocron was discovered by Darth Bane centuries ago, on Rakata Prime,” Ervius told Cremek. “Unless Darth Revan has made more than one in his short tenure as a sith lord…”

Honestly he cared little for whatever they would find. If it happened to be a holocron, he would be glad. If there were only the archives to salvage, they would suffice. Even corpses of whoever Hak was after would make good test subjects for alchemy, to say nothing of the predator who apparently dwelled in the ruins. And the idea of turning back now — that elicited a wry chuckle from him.

”You said the team had to be in there,” Ervius glanced at Hak. “So they must have made it to the other side. I wonder…”

Could it be that easy?

Cremek valued and treasured knowledge, regardless of what it had, or who it was made by, if he could use it, he would take it, he would place his hand on the dusty door, out of sheer wonder.

"As you said...this is a jedi temple...and a very old one.Something still lingers in here."

Hak moved closer and touched the rusted door as well,trying to sense something,anything mechanical or other wise.Hak was always putting up a fasade of the scoundrel,be but under the toughend extirion,he was still the boy that grew up with the myths of old.of light and dark,of good and evil,the rebels versus the empire...and the battle of the jedi and sith.This place held reverense in him,of age long past.The door was warm to the touch and thought for a moment.Then as Cremek said that Revan was a Jedi.He pulled back an turned to Ervius.

"This might be a stretch but i feel like this i some kind of defence mechanism.It seems that the people that i am searching for...had a jedi in their team.This door cannot be opened otherwise.Not by explosives and definatly by Sith....hmm"

“It reminds me of a tomb I once excavated with my late master,” Ervius remarked. He had his own idea, but would rather avoid interfering with another sith’s ongoing ritual. “The barrier looked a little different there, but I recognize the signs… Perhaps it could be realized using the light? That would be unorthodox, then again…”

Ervius stopped. He was rambling.

”Excuse me, I got too wrapped up in the implications and possibilities,“ he shook his head. “The tomb we excavated had a screen that would entrap an unweary traveller in a dream of sorts, though a nightmare would be a more prudent way of putting it. Getting past the barrier required either having the key, which could be anything from an object to a character trait — or knowing sorcery.“

A frown appeared on his face as he looked at Cremek work.

”Sorcery or alchemy — both can work, but it’s rather like forcing a door open with a crowbar,” he explained for Hak’s benefit. “There could be a backlash, let’s hope our friend can contain it.”

Hak tooks a deep breath and took two steps back,seemed like instinctual reaction.

"Well i dont know neither of those and to be honest i would like to keep it that way for now.Though a crowbar would definatly be usefull in those situations..."

Hak walked on the side and sat upon a rock to relax for a moment.After a moment he pulled out his data pad and examined that description from the entrance,mainly to kill some time.

“Our friend may be using a more obscure technique, I suppose. One I am not familiar with,” Ervius mused, standing a couple paces away from Hak. “Really, the barrier itself is fascinating either way.”

The ritual required to create it involved the sacrifice of an unwilling slave — if one used sorcery. That one stood here, in a Jedi temple, implied either that one of the locals was a Dark Side practitioner, that one visited this place at some point after the Old Sith Wars, or that Jedi had contrived their own brand of pseudo-sorcery. Either option intrigued Ervius. He could scarcely contain his enthusiasm.

”Who would have thought that a Jedi ruin could be so interesting?” he mused.

"I know right? that's why I love exploring these places.. and think my style more like a lockpick.. if one applies the proper incantation.."

Cremek would utter a few words, and with that, the door slid open as cremek tiredly dropped his hand.

"I hope you do not mind me passively draining you, you wont feel it much, but you might feel tired in an hour or two."

As Hak was browsing his datapad and translating the old text he overheard what they were talking about but paint no mind.But that phrase Cremek just said so nonchalantly struck a nerve to Hak,but he didnt react,he returned to the datapad and said a simple.

"No..."

he sighs, and turns, and gives him the look of, "you fool, in the end you have no say, I was asking out of meer decorum." he sighed, standing upright, and inhaling, before exhaling, the barrier was trapped after all, and had put him under the effect of a force terror, it took all cremek had to avoid the effect, or at least lessen it so he could recover.

“How very presumptuous of you,” Ervius scoffed. “Sith etiquette would demand that I leave you out to dry. You’re lucky I don’t have a high opinion of it.”

The old habit of caring about the well-being of his expedition members let itself be known again. These two had nothing to do with Ervius. Force, he would lokely never see them after this endeavor. He held back his essence, letting Cremek have only a tiny sliver of it, but he decided against entirely shutting down the drain.

He walked through the newly opened doorway, and it led him to the archives, a once grand room for sure. Little remained of its splendor. If there was ever any furniture, it had rotten away ages ago. Most of the terminals shut down, but a couple blinked in the darkness. Ervius found his gaze drawn to them.

The cavernous chamber contained much more, however. Obscured by shadow, something growled.

”Well, let’s satiate out curiosity,” Ervius said and added after another growl, igniting his saber, “right after some pest control.”

Everything was a blur.Hak removed his helmet and took a deep breath.As his eyes began to focus again he say the two sith opening the door,and walking inside.Hak took a deep breath and put on his helmet back on.Walking in,he marvelled in the grandeos chamber,an old Jedi archive,now all withered and nothing but dust.He did noticed that some of the terminals were still somehow operational but before taking another step,his attention was drawn to the second lightesaber igniting and the loud growl following it.He look in the shadows as a large beast lurging forward.The features matched the evidence from the previus chamber.Large cloaws,heavy built and the looked like very small version of a Krayt dragon or maybe a similar species...built to live in cannions and caves.Hak draw his blasters,one was a smaller more rapid fire one but not as power full,and the other could put a hole threw a Rancors's hide.

"Well..i hate it when i am right.Lets get this over with" and aimed at the beast.

Ervius dodged the beast’s initial charge. As soon as the creature’s back was turned, he blasted it with lightning. It did little damage to the beast and instead served to enrage it. Ervius could see the web of straining blood vessels across the sclera of the creature’s eyes. That was not good. Sith lightning tended to do more than physical damage, and their adversary seemed to have ignored that component of the technique entirely.

“Keep it off my back for a while, will you?” he called to his companions.

Relying on Cremek and Hak to distract the beast, Ervius caved the first rune into the floor. He hated rushed rituals. At the moment, however, they had little choice. A Force-resistant creature could give them all no shortage of problems.

Cremek gave a cry of excitement, this was not the first dragon he had felled, and the signature howl of his saber confirmed that, he hopped onto the dragons back when it facing away from him, if his fellow wanted him to buy time, they buy time he will, and he'll look good doing it!

The creature tried to kick him off, flailing wildly, Cremek held on, as it slams into the Wall.
