Woah, two threads already that people should be dq'd.

It'd be a lot more helpful if you pointed out which threads and why you think said participants should be disqualified, rather than just saying.

I think he's referring to matches Qual.M1 and Qual.M2.

In Qual.M1, Caleb's opponent hasn't posted a response in several days.

In Qual.M2, Cailist is taking his time replying, but it's not quite to the 48 hour mark yet.

Neither of those is near a disqualification.

If you read the rules, then you would know that the 48-hour rule only applies after you've made your first post. Caleb's opponent has not yet made his first post.

As for Hakim's match with Cailst, even if he failed to post within 48 hours, it's most likely he would only get a warning, not a disqualification. Though, it depends on how far over the mark he went.

Right, because it seems some of you have just assumed the rules are exactly the same as previous competitions, I would direct you the thread entitled The Rules as there have been a few slight changes and, guess what? YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EDIT YOUR POSTS AT ALL!!!

I saw this from one person and spoke to them about it in private, as it only referred to the first posts of a thread I thought warnings and disqualification would have been overkill and frankly a crying shame for one of the first threads of the competition to end like that. I've seen this a second time and, again, as it's a new rule I'm not going to start throwing about warnings for what would be a harsh reaction to an honest mistake.

However, if I see it again now that I've flagged it up in here I will start handing out warnings because you should check the rule thread before you begin.

Congrats to the Dragon Reborn on the first victory of the tournament.

As a side note, Calebs opponent still has yet to post. 18 days later.

I wasn't going to bring it up until the 2nd, making it an even three weeks, but essentially this is correct. My opponent left a notification, but I'm beginning to doubt whether or not he is coming back.

Right then, when are the next challengers going to get their chance to fight?

Next year then.

Some people haven't responded for weeks.

We need to be like super strict with the rules, just so the tournament doesn't die.

I guess I'm lucky to have had an opponent that was more active than me then.

Maybe if we had a different style of tournament, it might go better?

What do you suppose?

Maybe double or even triple elimination or a round robin or swiss style. Since people wouldn't get eliminated in the first go around, they might be less argumentative. And maybe if some better conflict resolution measures were put in place.

This is my fault tbh, and I apologise. However, I think it would be possible to continue this tournament with the current draw from the Round of 16, if you competitors were happy to do that.

The qualifying winners would be Caleb and the Dragon Reborn definitely at this stage.

If the other qualifiers want to continue then they should continue as if the next post was in the time limit, as I'd be happy to waive that rule on this one off occasion to allow the tournament to continue.

So if you guys are up for that, I'd be happy to try and make this work as best we can, what do you say?

Well, providing that posting continues and that the rules are strictly enforced, I'm in.
