Dona-Done!

Today's Forecast: The Crimson Dawn is blocked by a depression of rain clouds! After having suffered a giant blow to their galactic operations after having funneled massive resources to aid a maddened Vivienne Donatade in her anti-Imperial efforts, the Crimson Dawn strikes a less imposing figure than it used to do. They control a large synthetic spice facility on the planet Wayland, inside the old Wayland facility on Mount Tantiss. It was time that facility changed hands and joined the Ojoster Sector Exchange.
Participants: @Nor'baal Desilijic and @Preef Callo

Sometimes it benefitted the cartel to do a job that benefitted the Exchange. It wasn't often, mind you, but while the cartel reigned supreme in Hutt space and most of the Eastern Galaxy's Outer Rim it always had trouble gaining a true foothold closer to the Galactic Core where for some reason species like Hutts and Gammorreans were regarded with suspicion and sometimes even with outright disgust. It was a leftover sentiment from the Galactic Empire for sure, but then there was the Troig Eccle'baal. He operated from the sewers, as often aliens like Troigs and Hutts were forced to do closer to the Core, but managed to get a good relationship with a high-ranking Imperial officer. That opened doors, having what the Core called 'civilized humans' on the payroll and more importantly those were doors that the cartel was keen on having opened for them.

So it happened that the great omnipotent supreme mogul of the Hutt cartel, Nor'baal Desilijic Fa'athra, decided to go to the Ojoster Sector personally and have the Troig "owe him a huge favor". Some would say "the biggest" favor, even.

Preef simply tagged along. The aging rodian gunslinger was the former leader of one of the Galactic Syndicates and still the fastest quick-draw that graced this galaxy with his longevity. The Supreme Mogul had promised him luxuries to his every desire and all Preef really had to do for them was to stand nearby and occasionaly flex the quickness of his draw. Ofcourse, his Crymorah Crime Family, the Zaa Fenn, had managed to become the chief enforcers of Tatooine for the cartel and were making a lot of credits as part of this deal as well.

Long story short, when the Supreme Mogul's ship left hyperspace above the planet Wayland no one really had a plan on how to handle this. After all, how could some mid-tier Crimson Dawn ringleader really refuse to bend the knee to Nor'baal Desilijic Fa'athra? With Preef's blaster pointed at his head? All he had to do was pay his Chapakh to the Ojoster Sector Exchange.

The Glorious Jewel dropped out of hyperspace and into the Ojoster sector. Accompanied by three duraclads, it immediately broadcast the chain code of the Hutt Cartel on all open signals in the sector - stating beyond doubt just who had arrived.

"We have entered the system, your eminence." A Majordomo fluttered up to Nor'baal, who nearly swatted him away with his hand. The Hutt was enjoying a well-deserved blood match, watching as two beasts tore each other apart in the fighting pit - he had no time to be informed of their arrival.

<Nacae jen!> Nor'baal bellowed as one of the fighters ripped the other apart. He did not care that the assembled Governments of the Ojoster sector had just gone into a state of barely concealed panic, unsure of what to do with the Hutt mega-yacht that had just appeared over one of their worlds.

Nor'baal did not care.

"You're eminence, please - we must inform the locals why you are here." the Majordomo implored its master. Nor'baal rolled his eyes, and turned to address the matter in hand. <Koose ten don duapa ahdeh, an kouwahe bu poyen bai jaa. Hee, chake mah daokaka- Jee gee yanee.>

With the order given, the gigantic yacht descended into low orbit, advertising that its fore casino was now open and causing the local police an even greater headache.

The Votetka was one of Nor'baals preferred ways of travelling, yet on this occasion, he had forgone it. His Majordomo had protested, as he always did, saying it was 'unsafe' for the Hutt to go without his barge, but Nor'baal disagreed.

Nobody was stupid enough to do him harm.

Instead, he travelled from his yacht on a skiff, a Boonta blaster stashed within his reach, and a quadmuvir of Gamorreans protecting him, each armed with a cruel axe, and short blade. A droid piloted the skiff, and Nor'baal sat atop it with an air of supreme arrogance about his persons.

The arrogance was born from knowing that a small army was in close orbit should anything go wrong.

An arrogance born of having none other than Preef Callo was your back up.

Arrogance born of a lifetime of climbing the ladder, and now sitting pretty atop the perch.

Nor'baal looked about him as the skiff drew up to Preefs position and nodded to his favourite enforcer. <Bu Mizau Hoseha gee jot ana bocoee bolla see alay, gee la tee Preef?>

That being said, Crimson Dawn remained an irritation for the Cartel. Its leader seemed intensely persistent, and since Nor'baal had daringly retaken Kessel, he had to be extra cautious in case they sought revenge. Harming them by nabbing more of their Spice operations from their grasp was an ideal way to ensure they kept down.

If Nor'baal could not have the facility for himself, then having the Exchange control was just as good. The Ojoster Sector Exchange owing him a favour was just what the Boonta ordered, and his arrival and show of strength would remind their leaders just why they should ensure that favour was upheld when the Hutt called it in.

They'd been around for a while, the Exchange, and knew how to operate correctly. Unlike some other Syndicates, the Exchange knew how the game was played.

He would prefer them to control spice in this sector instead of the Dawn. Waving for his droid to silence the skiff's engines, Nor'baal pondered how best to proceed next.

Preef grinned upon hearing the Supreme Mogul's words, "I hear they lost a good enforcer a few decades ago," he was, ofcourse, referring to himself as he had once started out as a scoundrel with the Crimson Dawn. It was only after the first Battle of Kessel that he -an enforcer by then- decided to join the Crymorah Syndicate instead and become Zaa Fenn. "Never been the same after that."

Preef knew better. Omega Station was doing rather well, but that was just one of Vivienne's crimelords and the rest of the syndicate had unfortunately decided to follow their leader into her little Force-induced madness. She was brilliant once upon a time, but now.. now it would be easier than herding a single Bantha on Tatooine.

"So, we just telling them they work for that Troig now, or are we gonna shoot the place up and let the Exchange figure out how to get the factory up and running again?" The latter would force Eccle'baal to buy spice from the cartel to cover the intermediary period between losing the sector's main factory and getting it back up to the production levels to facilitate the spice addictions of three large planets, of which one was a city-world. Only downside is that the Troig wouldn't be so happy with them and lose a lot of credits trying to fill the spice-void. Getting a favor out of him probably wasn't going to work, but then again, what did the Exchange have that good actually benefit the cartel? Scant.

He squinted at the Rodian as he spoke. For the first time, Nor'baal noticed the alien's age - he held himself just a little differently, speaking about the 'old days' - the fleeting lives of the inferior species had always amazed him. For some reason, he had always assumed Preef just would never age, that the infamous gunslinger would remain in his prime ad infinitum. Foolish of him, really.

Regardless, the Rodian was correct. Since he had moved from the Dawn, they had lost an enforcer of considerable capability, and their own fortunes had declined in some way as a result. Nor'baal was not overly worried about the decline in the Dawns prospects, a weakened rival was a good one. Yet, it was essential to ensure that they did not go completely; fewer pieces on the board made for more scrutiny and power being levelled against few players, after all.

<Jot ten lee chalya hoohah bu douapka-ola bai catkkhana bu bidchkap.> he reminded Preef. The gunslinger was always a little to keen to demonstrate his skill with a blaster, but often the deft nature of business needed to be handled with a more nuanced set of rules.

Soon, the skiff arrived at their destination, a large marquee in an open area, surrounded by a smattering of local goons. Nor'baal disembarked from the skiff, his Gamorreans in tow, and headed inside, where their host - a lithe looking humanoid with green skin was waiting for them at the end of a long table. Nor'baal reckoned there where a form of human-hybrid, and had to resist wretching slightly, as the thing approached, and bowed.

"Esteemed members of the Cartel, a thousand thanks from my House to yours for your custom today. Please, take a ...." he looked at the Hutt and smiled awkwardly "- a seat?"[/b]

Preef nodded in response to the Supreme Mogul's warning. Age was catching up to the rodian in a way that it would probably never catch up to Nor'baal Desilijic Fa'athra and sometimes he didn't think about the risks he faced as his quick-draw became slower. Thus, he stepped into his role as the prestigious bodyguard to a galactic-level crimelord and walked up to the lithe green-skinned representative of the Crimson Dawn just two steps behind the Hutt.

"Well," the rodian gunslinger smiled as he walked across the table and turned his char in such a way that he'd be directly facing the green-skinned human. This was an obvious statement to show that if the Crimson Dawn representative said anything he didn't like that he was in a direct line with the legendary rodian's legendary peacemaker. "That's a good start."

As if he suddenly thought of something, Preef looked around the room and aside from Nor'baal's Gammorrean guards didn't notice any security measures protecting the green-skinned human. "What's this, Vivienne took all your guards?" he asked, having known Vivienne Donatade from when they both sat on the council that ruled the Five Syndicates, he never did see her as someone that was reckless. Maybe her proximity to all those Sith Artefacts had changed her.

"Not all of them," another human entered the room with the Kyuzo Petars already on his hands. He looked at the rodian eagerly, before respectfully bowing the the Supreme Mogul. "Sorry that I'm late. Forgot my knives."
