I was just reading up on some wookieepedia and saw the Sith Lanvarok and how there are still potentially some holocrons on how to make them in the universe I was wondering if this would be an allowed technology and if a Jedi would be able to obtain one... please help

Jedi aren't in the habit of looking into Sith holocrons. But the better question is, why would a Jedi even want or need one?

Only thing the Jedi would possibly do with a Sith Holocron would to lock it somewhere tight and away from others... or destroy it. Those are my thoughts anyways.

I'm thinking of trying to RP some background on my character and have him either discover a sith holocron with the makings of a Lanvarok or find out that he is a descendant of Darth Maul and have him find his.

We don't do the whole ''related to canon characters'' on here.

Well, the related argument's done and dusted, but I just want to address something quickly: I think people are still stuck in the Old Order mentality of what a Jedi should and shouldn't do. Remember in the New Jedi Order the rules are a lot less strict and Jedi wielding weapons other than the lightsaber are much more commonplace. Members should be looking at characters like Kyle Katarn to draw inspiration from on what a member of the New Jedi Order can get away with.

That said, a lanvarok itself might be a bit of a stretch...but I think disc launchers exist beyond that one Sith design - I hate to reference it, but I'm pretty sure a rebellion soldier had something similar in TFU, at least one of the cutscenes.

Plus...Darth Maul was sliced in two. I don't think he would have had any descendants anyway.

:CGape

If... You take "Clone Wars: Animated Series" as canon... Then... fu-k sake... Maul survived. Hnnnnng.

lol I'm glad I inspired a seething hate for Maul... That Aside, thanks Ranger I will look for something else not a Lanvarok but will have it mentioned... referencing it as a Jedi turning it "good" or "safe"

Well, given that we're 800 years in the future here, I'm sure similar things have been invented. It's not too hard to imagine a wrist mounted projectile gun or what have you, granted you don't want to blow your fingers off with one.

On a side note, in relation to technology, is it possible to have... say... Light Katars. You know... these:
