As the Core was under attack, Heather had first assumed that this session was about Raze and the galactical threat he kept posing to all citizen of the Galaxy. The Agenda had then rolled up though and suddenly, after its most recent actions, the Empire was being accused and threatened to be kicked out of the Senate again.
It was no surprise after the most recent developments, but this meat that the senator of Lianna was fairly aware of how this wouldn't be an easy session. She still came well prepared and ready to present her points. There were voices in here, voices in the galaxy who were still not trusting the new Empire, but this was what Heather was here for: to argue and convince before they could all together discuss what really mattered.
After the first two senators had occupied the floor, the senator got up to react on it. "Honorable representatives, as senator of Lianna, I speak on behalf of the Imperial Diplomatic Corps and I'd love to get in on what the Govenor of Cato Neimodia has already hinted at: Governor Parasini, I'd also be very interested in the evidence you've gathered about us being controlled by the Sith. May I remind you that after the Sith' expulsion, our new generations of Knights have never been in contact with the Sith at all? We train squires, force sensitive initiates who deliberately join our Knights of the New Order to protect the Empire and fight what remains of the fanatics out there" she began, addressing the Governor of Opportunity directly.
"I have to contradict you with your argumentation against the Imperial Knights in general. We can assure you that our Knights are monitored closely as we do not tolerate religious practices of the Force, nor does it make sense to assume they are still Sith, because a Sith would never protect anything else but him od herself. The distinctions may be hard to see without knowing facts behind it, but we see them on a daily base and so does the Galaxy. Our Imperial Knights keep those within the Empire safe and they are giving their lives to fight for us. Ask the newly joined planets of you will - without the Knights supporting our soldiers, thousands of lives would have already been lost", she pointed out, hinting at all the worlds that had been saves thanks to the collaboration of their branches.
However, there were more points to adress after those first speeches given. "Furthermore, Governor Tendree is correct when he reminds us all of how we are still covering a large number of Galactic citizens, citizens of systems who have deliberately chosen to follow us for the stability and security we provide. Are you suggesting we simply exclude them from the senate? Do you want to silence all of their voices? Voices we represent here by our participation in the senate?" it was obviously a rhetorical question, but she was certain it would have the intended effect.
Lon, in contrast to his pre-speaker, presented an issue that raised a few more questions, yet there was also something about his phrasing that was in need of correction, so she was turning towards him. "From an outside view, we might look like the aggressor, but I think it's rather funny that what hasn't been covered in the media was that Jedi-aligned forces had threatened to breech our borders as they were rallying - a risk, we were not willing to take", she explained, hoping the other Imperial senators would back her points.
