Steela had listened to Senator Staergin's proposal with intent. The man made some good points she thought, though she wasn't entirely convinced if this was something to discuss in the Galactic Senate rather than a regional conclave between the Core Worlds. Nevertheless, she would support the motion if the delegates from the Empire and the ISC showed interest, though she doubted they would. From her perspective, the Senators of Alsakan and Kuat spoke reasonably. It is the Core's responsibility to protect itself, and that included Chandrila.

The Senator rose in her pod and took to the floor once more, addressing the Speaker and the Senator from Champala. "I agree with the notions of the honourable Senators of Alsakan and Kuat. Chandrila is open to discussing regional matters such as this with fellow representatives of the Core. It is our own duty to protect ourselves against the vile villainy of pirates." She paused briefly as she gathered her thoughts into words. "However, if this bill is meant to address the influence of Raze, as suggested by the honourable Senator from Champala, then I see no reason for it, given the resolution we passed prior."

With that, she yielded the floor and took a seat in her pod. As it stood, she would dismiss the motion.

Xylan voted without much interest for the Hutts to receive one seat in the Senate. While the oversized slugs were probably the most disgusting creatures that ever could call themselves as sentients, the Tionese needed to recognize the possibilities that their presence would give for him and the Empire.

He rolled his eyes with the proposal of the Senator of Champala. If it was something that affected the Core, then these planets should be the ones joining to solve this problem, rather than bringing it to the Senate. Sometimes he wondered how some politicians could be chosen for their positions if they only had half of a brain cell inside their heads.

After the Senator of Chandrila finished her speech, the Tionese rose from his seat. “I agree with the Governor of Opportunity.” the bug made some sense, even if he tried to remove the Empire of the Senate using gossip. “If this is a problem only related to the Core, I believe that the worlds from this region should come together to solve it. This item should be dismissed.

"With a majority of the body calling for dismissal or to table the motion, this motion is dismissed."

She stated firmly. "Last on the agenda. 'Re-admitting the Jedi in the Galactic Senate' presented by Harald Svendsen, speaking on behalf of the Jedi Order" What kind of weird name is that? She thought. Oh well. Last motion on the agenda, then a closing speech, then she is done.

Harald was as ready as he could ever be, one could never be too ready for what he is about to get into. Now in a senate pod, his pod would then move upwards and forwards. All eyes are on him, and there are sharks in the senate.

"It is an honor to be here esteemed senators, governors, and galactic leaders. I am Harald Svendsen, with the Jedi Diplomatic Corps. " he would respectfully nod his head forward. "I came here to propose reinstating the Jedi Order into the Galactic Senate with ten seats." he stated plainly. "I am well aware one of the major reasons we were forced out was because we weren't a true government body and we didn't represent people. It was valid and true" that couldn't be denied, but things are different this time.

"However, now there are many worlds, population in the billions in total - which encompass multitudes of different species -, that are currently allied with us, but do not currently have a say in galactic affairs. It is my proposal that these worlds be granted representation in the Galactic Senate under our name, ten seats maximum, with them being represented by delegates from their own systems. Not Jedi." he said. "Jedi would be absent from these chambers. The Jedi's place is not in galactic politics" he said in a resigned manner. "But we would like to see that our partnered and allied worlds have a platform here in the Galactic Senate." he spoke confidently, that he was sure of.

He ended here. Harald was at ease, ready to answer questions, concerns. Anything else.

There he was about to leave this accursed place, and who should stop him but a member of the Senate guard? Informing him that the Senate had decided to permit him to have one seat, Nor'baal rolled his eyes, handed the man a handful of credit chits for his trouble, and returned to the chamber.

Returned to the chamber, Nor'baal listened to the Jedi make his pleading attempt to rejoin the Senate. The audacity of these impertinent force-users trying to join this august body was beyond him. How dare they seek to scuttle into the diplomatic chamber, without so much as a 'by your leave'? He scoffed, he rolled his eyes, and he scoffed some more.

This surely could not be how business was conducted in the Core.

No gifts had been exchanged; there was no discussion of hostage exchange until the deal was done. No wonder this place often failed to get even the basics done.

But perhaps there was a way the Hutts could play such naivety to their advantage.

Whilst the Jedi asked for ten planets to represent the billions of people for which they were responsible, Nor'baals eyes glinted with the promise of possibility. He to had made a similar argument just moments ago - that Hutt Space should be awarded a glut of seats owing to the burdensome challenge of its population. If the Jedi could be granted access, with only one seat, like the Hutts, perhaps he would have an erstwhile ally in his endeavour to reform the Senate to better expand on his own political power in the chamber?

"August members of the Senate, honoured guests." he began what was to be his maiden speech in the Senate "Nal Hutta understands the need to see the many billions of unrepresented peoples to be granted a voice in the Senate, as we ourselves called for earlier in this session. Yet, the precedent is clear - a single world ought to be granted, with each other admission needing to make its own petition of entry."

He drew himself up to his full impressive height "We cannot have one set of admission rules for one side of the Galaxy, and another for the Jedi and their planets." he proclaimed, with a majesterial tone. Holding his right hand up, a single digit pointing upward he added with finality "It is decided."

Completely unaware that voting was needed, Nor'baal concluded that the decision had been made, because surely everyone would agree with the wishes of the Supreme Mogul.
