Par'jilla hung up the mic and then turned to his crew.
"We do not engage unless fired upon, I want active sensor sweeps being ran, I want up to the minute intelligence on every thing, fighters in the area, ship numbers, classifications and any intelligence that we can gather on said vessels."
Par'jilla walked over to his XO and sighed rubbing the bridge of his nose, it had been a very long time since he had engaged in naval combat, and he knew his crew was itching for a little action but he had made a temporary Cease fire with the Chiss, and for what that was worth he would not engage the Sith in a fight and betray the deal he had just made, his honor depended on it.

"Clever." A simple statement, but it was all that was needed. Being in the same room as the Grand Marshal, he had heard everything, remaining silent. Once the line was cut, he smiled softly."You have just enlisted the aid of the Knight's allies." He bowed, and then took a seat. He focused his mind outwards, slowly but steadily connecting unnoticeably with chiss forces. He was beginning his Battle Meditation. Although he had been practicing for a couple years it was a difficult technique. He could connect to large groups and influence them, but it was slow to start up and the influence was minimal. Still, that small influence would stack with any other use of the ability. And in that he was useful. Besides, it would be good practice.

He only hoped he could finish preparing before combat actually started.
"Grand Marshal... Will I be aiding ground forces?" He was curious. Although he could fly a ship, he was better at either a tactical role behind his forces, or an up-front leadership role. Leave the dogfights to fighter pilots.

Dorann turned to the interning acolytes with smiling eyes. Oonoo's apprentice had come a long way since his initiation to the Sith Order, but had learned even more during his time under Dorann's tutelage. The ways of the Chiss had been a fascination of the boy's, and Dorann was a patriot. Partnered with the Celegian Sith Master, Dorann acted as a ground commander.

Oonoo as a High Admiral in the Expansionary Defense Force stood equal to Dorann as Grand Marshall, and it was his fleet Dorann commanded now. The three of them were oddly a fitting group, considering their talents and interests. Dorann, however, felt differently of Oonoo's methods. The Sith did not stand above the Ascendancy. The Chiss people stood strong and proud, and ever cunning - Oonoo's superiority complex was only a taste of how the Imperium regarded them.

"The Mandalorians fenced with the Ascendancy of their own accord not long ago. They were foolish to instigate matters with the Chiss over such trivial means, and risking open war with the Sith. The Mandalore leading the attack has since resigned," Dorann told him slyly. It was under the rule of the Ascendancy's previous Imperator that these interactions occurred, and an equally foolish act on their part. While the Ascendancy's leadership was temporarily out of contact, Dorann had since been in touch with several loyal generals to the Ascendancy. Together, they'd been able to coordinate forces in and outside of friendly territory, to a manageable state. When this operation was over, they would meet in person to decide the Ascendancy's fate.

"It seems that this, newly crowned warrior of the Mandos, may yet have intentions for us, however," Dorann continued, beginning to frown slightly. "There is little reason why those ships would not have opened fire immediately. It's true, they're outnumbered, but not by an excessive amount. By the time their fleet was crippled, their reinforcements would arrive. It may not have been our death, but it would have been a battle to remember," Dorann speculated, explaining his take on the situation. "They chose not attack us. There may still be reinforcements coming, but I do not believe the Mandalorians will attack unless fired upon. I've offered them reasonable terms concerning civilians and ships in the area. None will be able to jump to hyperspace due to the gravity well generators, but ships can still arrive," he explained. Arcturus was fairly sharp and most likely gathered the rest of what the Chiss had to offer.

"No... The Mandalorians want something more. Maybe they recognize our sudden loss of a leader as an opportunity. It wouldn't be the first time history saw two new icons of power come to peace," the Grand Marshall considered. "There may be merit in what they want, but it will still need to serve value and purpose in the Ascendancy's interests," he finished.

Dorann sat firmly in his meditative stance, still engaged with Arcturus, but resuming his concentration on his previous efforts. He asked if he would be a part of the strike teams heading for the Imperial Knights, hoping to be a figurehead in the battle. Dorann respected the acolyte's wish to take part, and earn his right of glory and honor. He found it admirable that he showed such eagerness to display his talents for the good of the Imperium and Ascendancy alike, but there were other needs required of him. "I'm sorry, Arcturus. I must ask you to assist Caris in orbit. It's vital that every departing vessel be located and apprehended, and your power to sense through the Force and coordinate your troops will be needed. I'm fairly sure how we're going to overtake HOMEFRONT, but your role is the more important," Dorann told him. The Grand Marshall hoped his words would be reassuring, but was almost certain he would be met with disappointment. Arcturus was eager and more than qualified to lead in battle, but his mind was focused on his physical capabilities.

A hologram of Lucifel appeared before Dorann. The Grand General stood silent as death, with the looks to boot.

"Our fleet has detected life on Seoul V," reported Lucifel. "The abandoned Imperial base was indeed the key. At first we only sensed animals on top, but working harder led to the discovery the base underneath the base. Our ground forces have been organized and deploying as we speak. Shall we give them one last chance to surrender or not?"

Lucifel didn't know Dorann as well as Oonoo. If Dorann was anything like Oonoo, then Dorann would be cold and efficient. Dorann's reputation spoke of similar traits, but tales weren't always a good idea to be bought fully.

OOC: If you say no, I'll be using the segment of my post from Page 1 I was asked to remove temporarily and add it to the back of the thread as a new post.

((OoC: Ichabod ammassed a fleet for this operation in this thread, posted ages ago))

Ichabod slowly swivelled his chair back forth as he nonchalantly gnawed a fingernail, the request for reinforcements from the Chiss had just come in from Seoul V orbit but a more pressing matter had turned up. A grin spread across the Sith Lords face as he tore a nail from his finger and spat it aside, there had been an open signal from an Imperial Knight vessel requesting Galactic Alliance aid and currently his communication officers were working hard to trace the signal back and pinpoint its' origin. The signal was currently being triangulated from it's various strengths both at the fleet and at various Imperial Bases.

The signal was clue enough of the Imperial Knights desperation, they were weak and would be crushed today. Hypserpace lanes were being monitored by technicians and further more, stealth tech imbued recording drones had been flown into them to monitor incoming G.A. traffic.

Ichabod pushed off hard with his left foot, causing his chair to spin full circle before he came to a halt, one of his officers having sprinted over and come to attention before him, "Sir! We've traced the co-ordinates of the Imperial Knight signal, how should we proceed?"

Dorann sat stiffly as the image of Lucifel appeared before him. The blueish hue of the projection seemed to make the Grand General shift in place, almost blurring together. The image was choppy and vague, but the Grand Marshall heard his words clearly. Everything was in place, and troops were well on their way to the planet's surface. The advance strike team moved to infiltrate the so called abandoned base as more came down in dropships. The Chiss and Imperial soldiers already deployed acted as a spearhead through the Imperial Knights' traps, making sure to clear the way for reinforcements. Soon enough, the traitorous Imperials would be apprehended for the crimes.

"Offer them only a single chance to surrender. If they do not immediately give up their arms and submit to being detained, you have permission to open fire. These are guerrilla-warfare terrorists, and I will not risk the lives of my people without caution. We are not an unreasonable people, but you are to offer them only one chance," he replied, keeping his tone stern and professional. It never appeased Dorann to make difficult decisions, but they still needed to be made.

Who was he to determine who would live or die? How could he, a singular man, decide the fate of those in the turmoil of war? He was a Grand Marshall of the Chiss Ascendancy. Dorann reminded himself that the rank he bore in the Expansionary Defense Force was one of not only duty, but honor. It was that rank and authority which gave him the right to make such decisions. It was his right, and his responsibility to his people, that allowed Dorann to lead his men into battle. In times of war, one can never trust the enemy. This was no exception. The Imperial Knights were known for their deception, and a false surrender, only to kill more Chiss before their end, would not be tolerated.

"If they resist... Kill them all. Any one soldier that stands to fight represents their faction. They surrender as a people, or go down fighting," he ordered with a curt nod. With that, the hologram dispersed, growing dim as the rays of light scattered. Dorann shifted his gaze to face Arcturus again, curious to the acolyte's take of the matter, but was quickly interrupted by a blinking green light on his wrist. The transmission to the nearby Sith fleet had been received. Dorann was sure they would take the appropriate measures, so there was little to worry. All that mattered now was the peaceful surrender and arrest of the doomed Imperial Knights.

"Acknowledged," said Lucifel.

Lucifel was glad for the conditions. If just one person made the foolish choice to fight, the Imperial Knights would be wiped from the face of the galaxy. However, taking such orders from Dorann did hold its vexations. When the Sith took over, the Sith were given power over the regular military. Now he was serving under allies. What next? The janitor?

Lucifel didn't let his irritation show, and signed off. He then ordered all troopships to land. Lucifel himself boarded one of them. The dozen ships landed at the foot of the abandoned base. Due to communications being jamned, there wasn't a guarantee the Imperial Knights would receive their warnings, so they'd have to tap into the Imperial Knight's internal network.

Unfortunately, there were some people in the base, contrary to earlier scans. They must have discovered the presence of an enemy, thought Lucifel. Before he could give his warning, the group of Imperial Knights present attacked. In defense, the soldiers shot back. The Clandestine Sisters were the first to go. Jack Harkness and Amanda Bayne, lightsabers in hand, managed to cut down two Stormtroopers before they were killed. Lucifel personally dispatched An-yan-ka, Moravian, Misha, and Dargo. One of his soldiers, Barrel, shot Aeryn in the head before Isis deflected a blaster bolt at Barrel, killing the soldier.

"Damnit," muttered Lucifel. "There goes another one."

Lucifel charged at Isis and cut off her hands before stabbing her in the neck. When Osiris charged, Lucifel used Isis' corpse as a body shield before using the Force to snap the Imperial Knight's neck. Nefertiti were the last to be killed Anok-Sun.

With the advance party dead, Lucifel raided their corpses to learn the communication frequency the Imperial Knights used. Plugging his commlink into the base's system, which was connected to HOMEFRONT, the Grand General declared his proclamation:

"Attention all Imperial Knights and allies," announced Lucifel. "Seoul V has been surrounded. You have no chance of escape. Your allies will not arrive in time for you to escape. Surrender, and you shall be allowed to live. The Chiss Ascendency control this operation, and will accept surrender." He made sure to point out the Chiss' involvement so they would take his deal seriously, else suspect it to be an Imperial trick. "You will be given only one chance to surrender. Lay down your weapons and come to the surface, where you shall be detained. No one shall be harmed. If anyone attacks us, we shall defend ourselves like what we were forced to do when we were attacked by your scouts. We had hoped not to kill them, but they forced our hand. We will not forgive an attack again. You have five minutes to reply, and only ten minutes to start showing up on the surface." Lucifel ended the communication, but kept his commlink hooked up so he could hear their reply. He made sure to disconnect his commlink from the fleet's frequency, so they couldn't attempt to hijack it to call for help.

At the moment Dorann was receiving a message from Lucifel, Arcturus was knee deep in the thoughts of their soldiers. Another unfortunate side effect. Prodigy or not, he still got lost in the thoughts of so many people. At least until he stabilized the network. Shortly before his battle meditation was stabilized and took true effect, he had to set a network in place. Much slower than his master Oonoo's, of course, but it had to be done or something distracting could disrupt the entire thing. Shortly beforehand, he would be essentially drowning in the thoughts of those he touched. At least he was almost done.

He had just finished the network. "Sensor web active. Battle meditation begins, now." His voice would seem as if he wasn't entirely there. And in truth, he wasn't. He was quickly going through the minds of everyone he was connected to in order to lock down their locations in his network. Hopefully he would be able to finish the final stages before any fighting or evacuating started. Regardless, the meditation was now active. Though only a small boost, it may very well aid in their success. "Network stabilized. Nothing to report." At this point it would be easy to boost Dorann's battle meditation or scanning if he went back to it, since he just had to connect to one person, the Grand Marshall, in order for the network to work much like an antenna.

Too bad, though. As a result of his network's continued stability he was essentially useless for anything other than keeping it up and battle meditation. Most other use of the force would likely disrupt it. If only he had more practice...

Caris grins. It seemed like many were falling already. If a take over could be bloodless, Caris was extremely happy. He was a soldier above all else, and every soldier took battle hard. Glory was all fine and good, but life of those under your command was even better. It was a good feeling when one was able to just retire after serving their people, rather than die in combat. Death was pointless. The glory of battle was in the victory not the fighting.

“This is Escort Shuttle Justice, launching to help take planet. The A-2 remains in orbit, to stop anyone from fleeing the planet!” Caris smiles as the shuttle launched from its hanger and moved towards the atmosphere, heading to the waters near the base, to help cut off any possible way of using the water to escape. He hoped they just surrendered and this could be ended peacefully. Caris was sure some could be integrated into the Chiss mercenary forces.

“Grand Marshal. We are launching, let us know if our plans change sir!” They entered the atmosphere and headed to their landing zone, the planet was beautiful, he wouldn’t mind being stationed here for a little while. The battles were hard, but they had come on top so far, he hoped for the same here.

Amor, his small squad, and his two personal guards were on the first occupied level of the base. Lucifel's voice boomed throughout the halls. His greatest fears had been met. Commander Knight had spent too long trying to disappear, and not enough time trying to strengthen the knights. Now, the sith were literally at their doorstep, and ready to kill all of them is they did not surrender.

Yes, the knights could stay and fight. It would be nothing but a waste of lives. For every one knight Amor had, the sith had three crusaders ready to cut him down. Surrender was the only option. Let the knights whom were out in the galaxy regroup, prepare, and come back for rescue...or vengeance. The knights who were taken prisoner would need a leader to keep order, and ensure that as many people as possible lived. Amor would act as that, starting by waving the white flag, whether or not Knight would agree with his decision.

" Let's go men, our day will come, but not today "

Amor and the men headed to the central elevator, raising through the levels of traps and flood gates. Eventually reaching the surface. The large doors opened. Amor stood front and center, his guards on either side, and the troops behind him. He saw the bodies of several knights, some he knew, some he had been good friends with. Amor brought his eyes up to meet Lucifel's.

" You leave us little choice sith, we submit. "

Kerne had been late checking in, and as he stayed in the asteroid field on the outer edge of Seoul V he realized it was a good thing he had been late, thankfully the Arcadia had been designed as a pirate ship with the intent of stealth, and surprise attacks, but Kerne had no intention of attacking, especially not the large amount of Chiss ships in orbit, Kerne could sense the Sith presence and immediately shut himself off from the force, no sense in drawing attention to his little pirate ship and his mostly innocent crew, he would simply linger and watch and then as soon as possible do what pirates do best.......Run away, so that he may come back later to attack when it best suited him. For now thought he'd simply wait and watch and see what transpired.

Arcturus continued his concentration over the military forces, maintaining the techniques taught to him by his Sith Master and Dorann. The acolyte had shown an impressive natural affinity to the techniques, but probably due to his excessive mental training with the Celegian. Oonoo was a powerful telepath, but a military mastermind at the same time. It only made sense for his apprentice to be trained in commanding his forces. Dorann could feel the boy's awareness and power with the Force stretch over Chiss and Sith alike, reinforcing their morale and coordination as they prepared.

As he finished establishing the mental network, Dorann decided that it would be more prudent to push Arcturus's limits. While it took an incredible amount of focus to maintain his concentration in meditation, the Grand Marshall felt he would learn nothing, if not forced to balance that with his actions in battle. It was one thing to be a leading general from behind the scenes, but Arcturus deserved his chance to flourish. As an avatar of might, representing Oonoo's and Dorann's training at the same time, he would learn to organize his Battle Meditation passively, while fighting in the heat of battle.

"You have done well, Arcturus. Your Battle Meditation grows stronger with every passing day. Your training has not failed you, nor will it in what is yet to come," Dorann started, inclining his head with respect. "It is time for you to take your position among your troops. Maintain your hold over their morale and coordination, and learn to balance this with your actions in the field. Do not descend to the planet, but be close to intercept any that attempt to escape," he continued, deciding that his presence off the ship would be more convenient.

A moment later, Dorann's commlink activated again, relaying the transmission from Dorann's most loyal commander in the Chiss military. Caris had prepared his troops timely and without flaw, but again, Dorann desired his presence in near-orbit. "Hold you troops, Legionnaire Prime," he replied calmly. "Lucifel will handle the captivation of the surrendering Imperial Knights. I would have you meet with Arcturus and his forces in the high atmosphere or orbit and watch for escapees. I would trust only the two of you with apprehending the elusiveness of the Imperial Knights," Dorann concluded, making it clear that they were not to be too close to the base. Another worry in the Grand Marshall's mind was that the defeated terrorists may yet lead the Ascendancy into a trap. While they submitted to Chiss custody, a goodbye-explosion would only take the lives of his people - a risk he was not willing to take with Arcturus or Caris.

Thoughts. Preparations. Things heard, things said.. Heard... Lucifel's group was engaged and his focus moved towards them, voices unfamiliar to soldiers. Non-sith. Static through his mind, but the words were clear enough."Offer of surrender appears to have been acc..." He trailed off, a brief flash appearing at the edge of his network. Before he could lock it down it disappeared."Anomaly... Somewhere. Outer edge. Can't track. Too distracted. I will relocate. He tapped his wrist comm. Dex, shuttle. I will arrive shortly." He stood and bowed briefly to Dorann."I will report to the orbit guard at once, Grand Marshal." And off he went, sharply stepping. While he was relocating his network would be less efficient, but kept running, until he was back in a stable position. Only large events would be detected, and his battle meditation would be running on half power. Still, better than collapse.

Caris nods and responds. “Yes sir, repositioning. Request another unit be sent to cover our previous designated area. We can’t afford to let them use the water to escape, as basic scans showed a large network of tunnels, perhaps some run to the water as well. Moving to high orbit to link up with the A-2 and her fighters to stop any fleeing ships.” He felt something. Another force user entered the area. He looks on his screen. Although his force skills would never truly be improved, he was quite good at them. He could feel force users, regardless of it they hid themselves from most other force users. “Sir, I believe another force user entered space near us. I cannot pinpoint them. Perhaps they are hiding, just be alert for any surprises.” He sends to his Grand Marshal.

No force user could hide their presence so well that they couldn’t be spotted through the force, their very attempt to hide themselves with the force created ripples, and all he did was sense those ripples. They never told him WHERE they were, only that they were there. Looking around the cockpit, he smiles at his co-pilot. “Keep your eyes on the sensors, I don’t know what’s going on, it might be nothing, heck I could be feeling one of our OWN for all I know!” He laughs to drop the tension.

“Keep alert.” Soon, the Justice had taken up positions with the A-2 in high orbit around the planet, ready to intercept any ship that tried to run. Caris let the new force presence fall from his mind so he stayed in the here and now.

Denton sat in the command chair, calmly sipping coffee. Suddenly, he heard the door to the bridge open, he turned the chair to face whoever it was. It was none other than Marshall Allen Vetor, one of the Knights on the ship. "Captain, how are you today?"

"Fine, until you showed up sir." Denton said, with a small smile.

"Oh, sorry to have ruined your day." Vetor smiled slightly as he stood next to the Captain's chair. "So, what is the situation?"

"Oh, just about to report in. Would you care to, Allen?"

The Marshall smiled and nodded, and walked over to the Comms console. "HOMEFRONT, this is the Mephistopheles, checking in. Do we need to come home, over?" there was a silence while Allen awaited a response. He turned to Denton after a moment and asked "Does it always take this long?"

Jak shook his head, eye brows knitted. He stood and walked over to the console and spoke "HOMEFRONT, this is Denton. Come in HOMEFRONT." more static.

"I don't like this, it's giving me a bad vibe."

"A bad vibe or a bad vibe."

When Denton mentioned the difference, Vetor's eyes widened. He recognized the feeling. "A bad vibe."

Denton nodded, fearing the worst. "Crew, prepare for jump to light speed. We're making an emergency jump. Permission to proceed, Marshall?"

"Granted, Captain."

The Nav officer spoke now "Where to,sir?"

Denton thought for a while before speaking. “Take us to Tatooine.” Within a half an hour, the destroyer was on it’s way to Tatooine.

Viras knew something was wrong now. She finished setting charges around the area around the tunnel. It was enough to destroy the bottom two, mabey three, levels. She got inside the tram and turned it on. The doors closed, and the sub headed for New Bastion. In ten minutes the charges would go off.

The sub came to a stop and openned allowing Viras and the girls to get out. She had the sodiers at the tunnel entrance take the children to her appartment. The people would likely go into a pannic when they learned what happened at HOMEFRONT.

Viras had the guards remove the sub from the tunnel for possible later use. She suddenly realized that there was a possibility that they could be killed. What the blast at HOMEFRONT didn't destroy the soldiers of the Chiss could find.

If the tunnel exploded, sealing the entrance, either they could die because the Chiss may destroy the reactor, or, if they were lucky, they would have no contact with the ouside world for at least a month, possibly longer.

Viras went to her appartment. The girls would likely be asleep. She needed to prepare to tell New Bastion, her city, what had happened. She needed to adress the city as soon as possible.

In five minutes Viras appeared on every holoscreen in the city. Attention, this is Landgrave Viras Naq. I have grave news to tell you. First, I have to say HOMEFRONT is under attack at this very moment. Now please stay calm as I tell you the rest. We here have only two options. We can colapse what's left of the tunnel to HOMEFRONT and hope to live with no contact at all with the galaxy with a possible death. I would however advise the second option we have: surrender. We are under attack by the Chiss who are much kinder than the Sith in most ways. They have offerred us the chance of survival under their provision as prisoners.

Viras left it at that. Most would likely rather risk being prisoners of the Chiss. Some would willingly die first. She gave orders for all wishing for an asshured chance of survival to come to the entrance in half an hour.

That half hour had come and gone. Every person, including Viras and the three girls, who wished to live and their children was placed inside the submarine. The sub stopped and the doors openned. Viras ussherred everyone out. She checked the charges, they'd failed. In some ways she was relived, in others she was nervous. No matter what the Chiss could now find the city.

Viras lead her people through the levels until she saw a Chiss soldier. She raised her hands and shouted. We surrender! She hoped this didn't turn out to be a huge mistake.

Edit:

[[having new details, I'm editing this post.]]

Deri walked forward to meet the sith. The knights had decided to surrender in the face of the overwhelming odds. She wanted to fight. She wanted to raise her blade and strike down each before her, but there was no hope of victory, and she was smart enough to see what had to be done. She surrendered.

His shuttle left to join with Caris and the border guard, back in a meditative state. His network was re-stabilized. And he was watching the knights through the proximity of the soldiers to whom they had surrendered. It was there his battle meditation was focused. The sith and chiss soldiers would feel a subtle sense of strength, of boosted morale. Like there was no way they could lose. Similarly, the Knight's forces would feel a similarly subtle sense of lowered morale. No matter who was effected, it wouldn't exactly be dramatic. But it was there regardless. On a Through his network he sent a message to Dorann telepathically. "Acceptance of surrender seems to be confirmed. Monitoring encounter closely."

After that he remained silent. He was almost to his new post, and he would like to be up to date before his network had to be put on hold again. And so he began systematic sweeps of network areas, making sure nothing odd was going on anywhere.

Lucifel led soldiers into herding up Imperial Knights and civilians who were living at New Bastion. He was with the group that captured Viras Naq.

"Load them up and send them to the ships," ordered Lucifel.

Lucifel put Colonel Barrel in charge of the infiltration operation while he led the prisoners aboard the shuttles. Barrel was dependable, and would locate the database as soon as possible, downloading everything he could.

Lucifel jumped into one of the shuttles launching off for the Dominion. He contacted Dorann via commlink, so there would be no holographic representation.

"Grand General Lucifel here," said Lucifel. "I'm leading some prisoners to the Dominion. I'm going to start questioning them. Colonel Barrel is locating the Imperial Knights' database, but we'll want to obtain the passwords before we try to access it. These people may be traitors, but they were trained in Imperial academies. They know how to keep databases safe."

Caris obediently used the powerful Justice escort shuttle for its actual design job for once. He began to escort the transports off planet, making sure no one got any bright idea to try and rescue the people on board, or for the prisoners to try and riot and take over. If that happened he would disable any ship the did. Several claw fighters from the A-2 took to escorting the leaving ships too. “To all leaving ships, pass through the blockade within scanning range of the capital ships. Failure to do so will result in the immediate destruction of your ship, so stay sharp.”

He wouldn’t allow anyone to use this opportunity to sneak off world. “Fighters, make sure to keep your sensors going, I do not want anyone to escape through our patrol post. I am sending recommendations to the other patrol posts to follow the same basic setup.” Sending his recommendation to the other Chiss ships, he gets to work escorting and scanning the various transports and shuttles.
