Vaz once again stood onboard the EF77 Nebulon-D escort frigate, awaiting a very important meeting with the Queen of Naboo herself. Many leaders had been in chambers with Vaz, but this was the first who's title involved the old style King or Queen titles. As per normal his security detachment waited patiently beside him as they often did often it seemed during these sorts of meetings.

Vaz's hovering pram buzzed softly for a moment as he was hovering about chest height, putting his face at about eye level for the average human, once more the spinning light turned green, she had docked successfully and would be on his side of the tube soon.

Vaz nodded at his security, and once the doors in front of all of them opened, Vaz stated his well rehersed line that was almost becoming his motto... Hello, thank you for making what I'm sure was a long trip to meet with me here.. if you'd be so kind as to allow.... however Vaz began to cough several times before regaining his composure and finishing, My.. m.. my security team to remove your weapons, so we can begin.. Vaz took a deep breath, before apologizing for the sudden fit.

Shaking his head, Vaz directed his hovering pram into the nearby office he so usually met his clients in, hovering around the opposite side of it, Vaz stepped off the pram onto the desk. Vaz had many pucks laid out and took the time to turn them on, a moment later they displayed several holograms of the more commonly sought after KDY products. What sort of products are you most interested in? Vaz asked, having mostly regained his composure at this point.

The CSS Veruna dropped out of lightspeed in an instant, before a small shuttle broke away, carrying the Queen and her entourage over to the ship upon which they would be meeting. She walked through the corridor of the warlike vessel the Kuati Senator had suggested they met on and had to hide a sneer as the minuscule humanoid floated up to meet her in what appeared to be their meeting room. "My.. m.. my security team to remove your weapons, so we can begin.."

"No, I don't think they will." she held up her right hand, halting one of the approaching guards in their place with a fierce stare. "If I intended to do you harm, Senator, I would have done so already." she remained standing, looking down at the diminutive Kuati representative as he began to showcase his wares like a back-alley merchant peddling second-hand commlinks. "Before we begin, perhaps it would help if I made a few matters clear. I am looking to make a sizable purchase, to augment the defensive offering the Naboo can make as part of our work within the Consortium. What drones do you have on offer, as well as fighters, to begin with?" she asked, unimpressed with what she was seeing in front of her.

"And, I shall remind your Senator, the coffers of my world are deep, but they have only managed to become so through careful and considered investment. Do not take me for a fool, for I am the farthest from." finally, she took her seat opposite the Senator, and waited for his answer.

Vaz nodded contently when the woman refused to disarm herself, it seemed royalty was different in not just name, but conduct. Very well.. Vaz would say, he supposed his guards and their guards both being armed wasn't that much different, in addition the Naboo were just as unlikely to attack here as anyone else..

She had taken the initiative to cut him off, sure the prospect of her sizeable purchase was definitely preferable, but manners never hurt anyone.. when she continued she seemed to be laying on the rudness by the shovel load. Your majesty, I assure you, I do not take you for a fool.. Vaz was somewhat confused, he wasn't sure exactly why her attitude towards him seemed so negative..

He almost felt himself a fool for committing to this meeting. There would be a pause, Vaz was a businessman and a politician, though he definitely seemed off today, Right.. Vaz said, drones weren't his specialty, The primary starfighters we provide are the X eighty-three TwinTail starfighter, their effectiveness is renown, and come standard on any ships from the KDY equipped with hangars. Vaz explained, hoping her response would be more amenable..

"Senator," the Queen looked at the diminutive negotiator with a stern expression across her face "- the are New Republic designs, are you quite sure you are permitted to sell them to members of other Governments?" she asked, eager to avoid causing a major diplomatic incident should she walk away with foreign ships in her fleet. The work of KDY was always impressive to see first-hand, however many of its vessels were created and sold for and buy the Government that controlled the major share of the shipyard itself. It was how Kuat had remained at the heart of the galaxy military-industrial complex for so long.

"Perhaps there is another approach we can take. I am eager to avoid purchasing vessels for which the Naboo have no claim, namely, ships made to order for the New Republic. However, the manufacturing capacity of the Kuat Drive Yard must have some slack? Would it be possible for the Theed Engineering Corps to make use of some of your excess capacity here on the Yard, to build ships of our own design perhaps?" the Queen suggested by way of a compromise. The Naboo had quite the reputation for high-end starfighters, and the ability to augment their production capabilities through the use of the shipyard, would not be something she would turn down.

Vaz considered her for a moment. While Kuat Drive Yards owned the patents, and committed the manufacturing themselves, the Republic had been their sole purchasers, To Date.. but her counter offer was much more intriguing, allowing Theed Engineering Corps to work out of the KDY would be beneficial on the long term, much more profitable for the KDY and the Republic over time than the simple sale of some ships..

Yes Ms. Sandré, that does sound like a profitable venture for both parties involved, details can be hammered out at a later time, but of course you'll know there would need to be compensation for the continued use of facilities at the KDY.. Vaz said, I'll have my people draw up the plans and move forward on it, feel free to scan over the available real estate for a location you'd like best.. Vaz added in.

With that Vaz called an end to the meeting, departing not terribly long after her, the continued income from Theed, a non Republic based entity, would most certainly help level out the economic unsteadiness of the Republic, even if only a little..
