"OW!....yah I'm sure he will get the guy but why chase after him if anything he seemed to help us...OW! easy with that stuff would yah, its bad enough every time I'm with you guys I get shot, infected with a contagious disease, or nearly chopped in half, now I have to try and live through your terrible first aid skills.....OW!"

The sound of a ships engines approaching could be heard, and a few seconds later Shawn’s fighter came into view and began to touch down a few feet away from where Shawn and Stasha were.

"Right on que. There should be more medical supplies in the ships cargo hold."

“My Terrible first aid skills are going to keep you alive after I beat the -” Evie paused to calm herself, biting her lip and stiffening her back. His later statement caught her attention and she addressed him with a cocked eyebrow

“Help us? You mean he didn’t attack you?”

The realization Ares target had not in fact been a contributing factor to Shawn’s collapse, but the opposite left her confused, a whole new realm of possible identities came to view.

As Shawn’s ship landed she stood and offered her hand with a stern look.

'What a night…'

Relieved he wouldnt be forced to kill someone who probably didnt severve it, Ares watched the hooded man disappear beyond his visors range into the desert beyond. Upon looking down towards where the stranger had stabbed his knife into the ground, Ares was shocked to see a second sitting next to his. Not by the fact that there was two knives, but by what type of knife the second one was.

It was a three sided knife, a type rarely used by the galaxy at large. Even rarer was style in which its handle was decorated, only one person Ares knew in his entire life carried such a blade....

Kal.

Ares quickly looked up to see if he could catch the hooded figure, to see where or how he had gotten his old friends knife, and if he knew if Kal was alive or not. Unfortunatly he was already gone, swallowed by the desert. It was a sobering realization, and it made the armored hunter almost forget about the tusken raider attack that had just happened. Picking both knives up, Ares gingerly held Kal's knife in his cybernetic arm, while simultainiously placing his own knife in its sheath.

The walk back to Stasha and Shawn seemed shorter than the chase to the cliff face, which exploded with a massive boom as Ares walked away. He was never one for letting a good explosion go to waste. When he finally reached his two guild members he slumped into a sitting position, removing his helmet to reveal an almost shell shocked look. Using the light from Shawn's ship he started to work on his still bleeding leg, knowing that he would bleed out within another 15 minutes if he didnt do something about it.

The second he arrived Evie went to Ares.

With the affectionate eccentricities attributed to her character she threw her arms around his neck, pulling away to examine his face with silent reprimand. She started to speak- stopping only to read his eyes.

His pallid expression of loss sent a recoil through her frame, thinking better she remained closed lipped.

She was a woman of words- but her diction was Stasha’s flaw.

Moving to her box of medical aid She readied the bacta once more.

She nodded to Shawn and acknowledged her own fatigue by narrowing her eyes.

Something was beginning to unfold…She wasn’t quite sure where the strands of being had begun to unravel but the loose ends that bound the hunters had his a new snag…

Wordlessly Ares pulled Kal's knife from his belt pouch, and dropped it on the sand infront of him. The hunter stared at it for a moment before speaking.

" Stasha.... Do you recognize this?"

Picking the knife up again as he spoke so she could see it better, he held it by its blade in his index and thumb, knowing his gauntlets would protect him from its sting as long as he was careful. Without waiting for her reply he spoke again, this time staring at her.

" This is Kal's knife Stasha. Kal's. That hooded man dropped it when I got my knife back. He never went anywhere without it.... It means he's here! Or at least, he was here at one time."

Stasha regarded the blade coolly, her lower lip drawing back slightly at the discovery.

After a stalled draw of breath she spoke, looking away as if conversing to a nonexistent entity at her side. The weather had begun to cool.

“He claimed your Knife,” She began throatily.

“Who’s to say he did not claim that one from another?”

Fidgeting with the fur lining of her collar she brought her eyes to the ground before returning them to her husband.

“ It could be Kal’s knife but it also-” She paused.

“ If he passed through he’s long gone.” Her manner was bitter, perturbed. Getting to her feet again the Huntress ran her fingers through her hair.

“he’s long gone…”

Loyalty and persistence were the stuff of Stasha Evie’s lovely but harsh composition and as she settled down to sleep that night her judgment was sound. She was the sort of woman who; when collecting the people that built her lifestyle, found that acceptance did not come easily. When a new face joined her memory's assortment she expected to see it again, when told it would not be so…she shook her head and waited.

But she had waited too long and having her hopes raised would only make her fear of their fall worsen.

And so she allowed herself none at the news of “Kal.”

When the next morning she awoke- golden eyes glazed a fatigued pink- she rolled from her back to her stomach, lazily lifting a hand to appease the sun’s demands for attention.

Breathing so softly she appeared false at a distance- a marble statue with a pensive expression- she silently left her bed to dress, then stepped outside, tugging the collar of her coat stiff.

Her rifle swung across her back like a cross of penitence.

Ares had been up and about, several hours before his wife. It had been that way for years, his work always keeping him from a full night in his own bed. BY that time his armor had been fully equipped, the bounty hunter had had quite enough of running around in only half his armor, it left him dangerously exposed, and he hated to be exposed. That morning however was different from any other one, for Ares wasnt up early because of work, he was up early because of what had transpired the previous night.

A three sided knife was clenched tightly in his cybernetic hand.

Unfortunately for whatever reason Ares was unable to fully let the events sink in, he had other matters to attend to.... Big scaley ones. Hearing the rustle of bed sheets comming from he and Stasha's tent, Ares turned from viewing the sunrise and greeted his wife with a smile, although she would be unable to see it from under his helmet.

" Hello darling, I hope you slept well..... We have a big day ahead of us." Ares feinted happiness as he spoke, eager to put the previous night behind him as quickly as possible.

Kal rolled out of his small one man tent and stood up, his back stiff and cracking,
"Oh fierfek I hate getting old...."
He stretch his muscles and settled into his morning routine that he had picked up at the monastary, two hundred and fifty pushups followed by two hundred leg lifts and a variety of stretches to try and keep himself limber.
"So, I suppose I better check up on them before they do something stupid, again." Kal said, speaking only to himself and the desert wind.

The fighters cockpit hatch opened Shawn leaned out. "hay you wan't me to look for our pray from above, with this shoulder I won't be much use on the ground. the bacta we used kinda took the pain and stoped the bleading but it'll take a few more days till its back into full use, not to mention the firepower is enough to make it a fair fight."

Stasha Jumped at Shawn’s greeting. She was not a morning person and preferred the solitary silence of waking up …slowly.

“By air?” She echoed with a disappointed bleat.

"I had hoped we would remain together..."
