Bhaal got word of a party for pirates, outlaws, and smugglers alike. So, the Wookiee thought it would be a good idea to take a look around at the competition/potential opportunities for himself. Tarfful's Revenge touched down on an open landing area outside the castle ruins. Rolobhaalorak had heard of a great many stories about Maz and her ventures. Rumor had it she once had a relationship with the legendary smuggler and Wookiee, Chewbacca. Maybe after this party, the Wookiee could find new connections that could make a name for himself just as great as Chewbacca's. Or, maybe Bhaal would just enjoy his time and relax for a while before going back to work.

Once he was in, Bhaal's nose was a little overwhelmed with the mix of alcohol and spice causing him to flare his nostrils. After rubbing his nose, the Wookiee settled himself at the bar and ordered a glass of blue milk. There were familiar faces everywhere; Edin Frost (@Sreeya), Nor'baal the Hutt (@Nor'baal), Grace Zann (@Where), and Aden Archer (@The Good Doctor). Out of all of the stories he heard, the Wookiee decided that Aden was probably the best.

So, Rolobhaalorak shifted a few seats over to sit next to the famed pilot.
<"Arrguargh! Uughghhhgh aarrragghuuhw huurh huurh raaaaaahhgh uuh? Hnnnhrrhhh raaaaaahhgh raaaaaahhgh raaaaaahhgh?"> Hopefully this wasn't too awkward. Bhaal wasn't sure if Aden knew Shyriiwook or not.

"Well, looks like Pa was right," the Tiefling grinned, yellow eyes still wide as she stared at her younger brother. He wasn't so little anymore, as evidenced not only by his height but by the woman with him. Amira just hoped that Jabari knew what he was getting into.
"Nice to meet you," she nodded, sparing Nymeria a small, inattentive glance. It was nothing personal— the Tiefling just had other things on her mind. "Nice place you've got here." The compliment was sincere. Amira had certainly enjoyed her time here, thanks to Edin and the free drinks.

A Wookiee strolled into the cantina and began screaming his head off at someone seated at the bar. That was her cue to leave. "My... friend and I are really hungry, so we better get going." In a softer voice, she would add to Jabari, "I love you. Let's talk soon, okay?" They had a lot of catching up to do, and had Amira not had a pressing date with a flaming Firrerreo, she would have stayed to chat the night away.

"I'll see you around," she concluded, seizing Edin's hand and taking a step back. This time, she spared Jabari the embarrassment of 'Jab Jab.' The Tiefling disappeared through the front door. /exit thread @Altaris @Sreeya @Wit

Nymeria wasn't a stranger to tieflings, but even she was surprised by the surprisingly by how the demographics of the party were skewed in their favor. And it seemed Jabari knew more than a few faces in attendance. As he introduced her to Amira, she had to wonder just how big of a family he had.

"The pleasure," she replied to the tiefling woman with a smile, "was all mine." She similarly greeted Edin before he and the tiefling exited the premises, their intentions very evident to her. Once they were gone she would move to a nearby table, slipping into a seat and gesture for Jabari to join her. "So, what brings a bring eyed young man like you to such a gathering of scum and villainy?"

Meanwhile, word had spread among the employees of the establishment of the presence of an imposter in their midst. A "guest" had started masquerading as a bartender and was going so far as to accept payment from the patrons. A little fun was well and good, but Nymeria did not appreciate him making light of the fact that she had announced that drinks were on the house.

So as the supremely unlucky Jim Vance tried to make another drink, and pocketed the credits that Edin had slipped him on his way out, Nymeria's twi'lek friend walked up behind him and whispered something in his ear. Whatever she said worked, for he followed her out through a side exit. Not a step had been taken when a blade sunk into his chest. His lifeless corpse fell to the floor, a simple warning to those who dared cross Nymeria.

"Thanks? He likes my thanks?" She quirked an eyebrow ever so slightly, then nodded when he said his name was Hex. She wanted to ask if his name was hex like a hex code or hex like a curse but figured from his previous response she'd get something unsatisfactory. He seemed a bit out of his element if she was honest. Perhaps she picked the wrong person to chat with.

"Slicing and contract assassinations, mostly," she would respond to his blunt question. "What about you?" She had her initial assumptions about what he did, but she'd keep them to herself for the moment.

While he answered, Mars turned and ordered another vodka from the bar. The bartender was different this time, she noticed, but she didn't say anything. He didn't compliment her arm like the last one though. A pity.

Barnabus' eyes instinctively shrivelled into a squint when the woman mentioned that she also considered herself a slicer. Maybe it was his innate venomous nature, or perhaps some sort of arrogant jealousy but he audibly rolled his eyes in response to her statement. Amateurs were everywhere. On a reflex he entered a miniature rant about cyber security, always delighted at an opportunity to make someone aware of how stupid everyone in the room was but him.

"I'm assuming as a 'slicer' you were also completely apalled by the lack of digital security this event had. Some of the biggest names in the criminal underworld in one tiny little room and nobody thought to even triple encrypt the invites? Gross." Barnabus would repeat his order from earlier to the new bartender and wait for a new glass of fizzing brown liquid to be placed infront of him. "I mean, all it would take is some moron with two braincells to scrape together, a single grenade and a vendetta against the underworld to find this place, kill us all and completely cripple the five syndicates."

He'd lean his head forward and take another long slurp through the straw before answering her question. "I am an actual Slicer." He looked back down at his holopad and began using his thumbs to scroll through Feddit once more. The 'actual' had slipped in there without his notice. "I came here to find the idiot who was in charge of the invitations so that I could help them not be completely braindead - and get paid for doing it."

Barnabus's eyes scanned the lady up and down once again before they settled on her arms. He had to admit, he was filled with a morbid curiosity.

"Did those hurt?" The nasty side of him hoped the answer was yes.

Mars kept her expression neutral on purpose, pretending to have missed his eye roll though it irritated her. "Kriff, he's one of those." And she'd gotten herself stuck in a conversation with him. "Wonderful."

She let him rant about the cyber security of the event, though if she were being honest, she didn't see the point in triple encrypting the invites since they'd been sent to everyone from nobodies like them to the big names in the room. "You doubt they have other means of security?" she asked before she took a sip of her drink. She used the glass to mask her own eye roll when he called himself an "actual" slicer, lowering it once he continued on.

"The idiot in charge of invitations..." she repeated in a murmur. Her eyes flickered over to Nymeria and searched for eye contact (@Wit), but before she could point out the woman who owned the place, he asked about her arms.

"You're going to have to be a bit more specific than that." Did they hurt now? No, not at all. She had no feeling in them for obvious reason. Did they hurt being put on? The answer was also no, because Bryn had used a borderline illegal numbing agent before he installed them. As for what happened to them... "If you mean when they were blown off? Probably. I don't remember." It was the truth. Not only was it a long time ago, but trauma had a funny way of messing with memory.

"Oh."
Barnabus looked down and took a slurp from his drink. "Well that's lame and underwhelming." He turned around in his seat to face away from the bar and scanned the room once again. Between people gradually sifting out to host their own private rendevouzs or either shooting themselves or other guests, the party seemed as if it was beginning to die. Not that he was an expert on when partys ended - he hated people and was never invited to them.

He brought his straw up to his lips again. "I'm sure they do have more security- my point is that so few people consider the digital."

He swivvelled his chair around to face the woman. "So you're an Assassin. You killed anyone that I'd care about? Your name doesn't ring a bell." His head didn't move but his eyes scanned her up and down once again. He squinted. "Or are you new?"

"Lame and underwhelming..." Yeah, she was done talking to this guy.

"I've killed my interest in this conversation," she responded as she stood up from the barstool. She took a quick look around the room. "...and this party. Have fun finding the "idiot in charge of invitations". I believe she's right over there."

With that, Juno would leave the bar. She'd wanted to speak with Nymeria at some point, but the cyborg woman decided she'd just contact her later.
