Takodana

Takodana Castle, once the pride of Maz Katana, now in ruins after the clash between the First Order and the Resistance over a hundred years ago. It had become the home of a small pirate crew, who had done a half-assed job of restoring it, turning it into their base of operations. That was till Nymeria came along, taking over and sprucing up the place. Making it more than a hovel for unbathed, skunked up bodies to rest for the night. Now it almost resembled a cantina, far from its heyday but still something Nymeria was proud of.

And now, almost a year after she had taken over, she was ready to begin the next phase of her plans. The Syndicates had undergone a lot of flux in recent months, much had changed since the fall of Zaa Fenn. New powers had risen in the vacuum left by their demise, but it had also allowed her to work away in her little corner of the Galaxy without drawing any attention. Now though, now it was time to draw attention. So she had opened her doors to one and all, and sent invites to whatever contacts her pirate friends could get in touch with.

It was to be a party, a celebration without any reason, to drink, smoke, and participate in all sorts of debauchery. And it was all on the house. A year's worth of profits, spent on this single night. For if she wanted to grow, she needed contacts, and what better way to make new friends than over a drink or two, or a dozen.

Iniya walked into the cantina-like castle of Takadona on Maz Katana. She looked around as she walked in with an appraising eye. She made it her business to know about things others thought insignificant, so she had heard when a woman had taken it upon herself to restore the castle, wresting control away from a band of pirates. Iniya would have come to this celebration the woman, Nymeria, was hosting, even if she hadn't gotten an invitation.

Iniya smiled sweetly at the guard standing in front of one of the main doors to the bar. She tugged a lock of hair behind her ear and batted her eyelashes at him. "Hey," she said, her voice coated in sugar. "I'm a friend of Nymeria's," she said, clasping her hands in front of her. The guard looked her up and down, gave her a grin, and opened the door for her, letting her in.

Iniya gave him a wink over her shoulder as she strutted into the large room. Colorful lights illuminated the faces of the people already there, and Iniya scanned the servers and the people working behind the bar for Nymeria. In truth, she had never met the woman in person but she had found a few data-files that told her about Nymeria.

She walked up to the bar and sat down in an open seat and ordered a drink.

Xol was not into alcohol or smokes, but he liked to relax when he had time. What better place to do that at a low key castle with lower key patrons? Not only was this a quick vacation trip, but Xol heard a few rumors about a woman who wanted something from the inside scoop. The Tognath had been around since the beginning of Zaa Fenn and he had survived long enough to become employed by the Hutts. The Enforcer was probably as good a 'contact' as they came, these days.

After finding an empty table to sit at where Xol could see everyone, he ordered a simple glass of water. Glassing the bustling crowd for the woman he was here to meet was going to be hard. Hopefully, she would come to him, but if not, Xol would take initiative and ask around for the host of the party.

This was hardly Jabari’s first time swinging into Takodana. With easy access to trade routes leading into the Mid and Inner Rim, it was a planet that he often passed through during his runs as a smuggler. Its reputation as a haven for pirates and lowlifes made it one of few places that Jabari felt relatively safe to refuel and stock between travels - confident that there would be no authorities around wanting to take a peek at whatever cargo he was carrying that day. Of course, this was the Tiefling’s first time visiting the planet since Nymeria had taken over operations.

While Jabari originally only intended to stop on the planet for the basic necessities, news of some party being thrown by the Pirate Queen herself was motivation enough for the Tiefling to stick around for a couple more hours.

Running a hand through his black-and-white hair, Jabari strolled through the entrance of the castle - burgundy eyes drifting across those who had already arrived for the celebrations. The Tiefling had come dressed in his usual style for the occasion - wearing a pair of dark jeans, leather jacket and low-cut shirt underneath - the collar dropping down to reveal the upper portions of his chest and the myriad of tattoos that were inked there. As per usual, the Tiefling packed a peacemaker on his hip and his pair of Matukai Gauntlets.

After a few moments of scoping out the crowds, Jabari spotted the hostess herself and proceeded to make his way in that direction - swiping an untouched glass from one of the patrons while their back was turned. With beverage in hand, Jabari finally reached Nymeria - greeting the Pirate Queen with a charming smile. "Thanks for the invitation, darlin'. Takodana ain't never looked better." Jabari said, his words tinged with that Bandomeer drawl.

After a moment, he extended a hand out to shake. "Jabari Din."

Grace had never been to the famous Takodana Castle before, but had heard stories about the place. It sounded like her kind of cantina, one where the powerful could finally have a chance to kick back. Between all the Syndicates' recent conquests, and all the New Republic publicity, the leader of the Consortium needed a good rest.

A friend of hers, @Xol, had tipped the crime lord off to some big party happening. As such, Grace would arrive at the front doors of the castle with her old friend and mercenary Havvs in tow. The pair of them would enter the establishment, and immediately start getting looks from around the room. "Gee Gracie, it's like we're famous or somethin..." he would chuckle. She would give him a smirk in response, enjoyed the attention brought by her recent escapades. Across the room she would be quick to spot Xol, and would even notice Iniya, who she met on a prior job.

"There's the most ruthless man I know. Thanks for the tip. The party looks great."
She would remark to the tognath.

Moving about through the party, mingling and chit-chatting with the guests, Nymeria would occasionally excuse herself to speak with one of her men. Being the good host that she was, she would normally remind them to top up a glass of wine before it emptied, or stocking up more beer before it ran out, or simply piling on more death sticks on the trays one of the Twi'lek girls was sauntering around with.

It was on her return from one such check-ins, when she had sent instructions for the band to make some changes, that she was approached by a new arrival, a striking Tiefling who towered over her by almost half a foot. Taking note of his clothes, and the weapons he carried, she smiled in reply, a smile that was matched by a twinkle in her eyes.

That was when her earlier instructions were carried out, and the band changed tempo, playing something a lot more upbeat. With the party beginning to come alive, it was time to open up the dance floor. So as the lyrics kicked in, Nymeria pushed herself to her feet from the bar stool she had been learning against, and took Jabari's offered hand. But instead of shaking it as he had intended, she used it to begin pulling him towards the dance floor.

Raising the hand still grabbing Jabari, she spun around gracefully under it to come to a stop facing the tiefling, the clothes she wore giving her perfect freedom to move about on the dance floor as she saw fit. "So," she finally asked him, "Jabari Din. Would you like to dance?"

By then she was already moving to the music, and unless he resisted, she would be guiding him to do that same. The question seemingly an afterthought. She was someone who liked getting what she wanted, and right now she wanted a dance. Not just because she thought the tiefling was cute, but because the livelier the dance floor got the livelier the party would get. And the more fun people were having, the looser their lips became. And loose lips were good for business.

In the Syndicate circles, Edin was known as an exceptional marksman and a deadly mercenary. His alter ego, the Basilisk, was known quite a bit more. Rumors already circulated about Basilisk assassinating the former Chancellor Emil Ro and Edin’s involvement in the downfall of Zaa Fenn would have made the rounds through the Syndicates. As an assassin that went after high profile targets, Edin kept his name separate from Basilisk. His infamy came the moment he put on his trademark helmet and armor.

Tonight, he was adorned in a black leather jacket, with a loose white button down shirt and some form fitting jeans. His hair was gelled to look purposely messy and the top few buttons of his shirt were undone to present a more casual attire. He needed little introduction getting in, jutting his chin at a few patrons he recognized. The music was catchy and the vibe was lively.

For now, the assassin made his way over to the bar to order himself a nice fruity beverage. It was between that or his trademark chocolate milk that usually guzzled down before a job.

Grace was not the woman Xol was looking for today, but he was not upset with her showing up. Not one bit. After the whole Kuat fiasco along with the expansion of Syndicate territory, Grace had made quite the name for herself in such little time. Xol had to respect that ambition and hard work. If the Tognath had a fleshy mouth instead of mandibles hidden behind his breathing apparatus, he would've smiled.

<I am not here for flattery, though I do admire it.> Xol dipped his head toward the Crime Lord, gesturing for her to take a seat at his table. <I'm here on networking business.> And just as he finished the sentence, the Enforcer spotted the host dancing with the devil, so it seemed. The tail and the horns were amazing, and they almost made Xol jealous. However, Xol was not here to dance or to marvel at Tieflings- he was here for business.

Another patron walked in front of Xol's view, deciding to sit at the bar. It was none other than Edin Frost- a spectacular sharpshooter. This was quite the party Nymeria had put up. Famous and familiar faces were all over the place tonight. Now all we need is a Hutt! The Enforcer mused, deciding whether or not he wanted to chat with the gunman or interrupt the host's dance.

Mae was fashionably late to the party, an idea of her personal guard as it would also serve the purpose of throwing anyone tailing her off too. Not that she would have a tail, but now that she was a little more then just a scoundrel within the ranks of the syndicates and what some may call a rising star within the Pykes, she had made a few enemies along the way. Mae knew very little about their host, only that some recall or mention her as "The Pirate Queen", a name that she herself have been labeled on a few occasions and she was curious who her competition was for that title.

Mae walked down the steps of the main entrance with her entourage in tow. They consisted of no body special, just a few of her enforcers that looked good dressed up and could handle themselves in a fight. She wore a cute black dress that hugged her petite 4'11" frame nicely. It showed enough to make her feel attractive but not enough to show her concealed blaster. She wished she would have bought it in one of those fancy shops on one of the inner rim worlds, but in fact took it out of a pile of loot from one of her jobs and made the appropriate sizing adjustments, of course.

As she made her way through the party, she did not recognize many of the faces until her eyes landed on Grace at a far table/booth. She was accompanied by Xol, one she has ran a few jobs with and did not really care for other then being somewhat professional. Xol's lack of respect and name calling had just rubbed her the wrong way and as she approached, decided to restrain herself from calling him "Ugly" like she did back on their last job together as a counter to his childish name calling. Instead, she nodded at him "Xol..." before looking over at Grace, "And as always it is a divine treat to see you again, Grace" Mae said as she winked at her. Mae is into men, but there is something about Grace that has Mae ponder.

Mae sat down next to Grace and peered out over the party and saw their host. "What do we know about our host?" She asked the other two as she starred.

<Haku wa echuta hhee.? Nor'baal declared as he wriggled his way into the Takodana venue. <Bai nahbe. Bai whache. Kounadi lumpa.> he sneered, looking around the room at the morass of scum that gathered there. A far cry from the wonders of the Hutt Core, Nor'baal had never been to Takodana, and already he was regretting breaking with that long-held tradition.

His yacht had touched down outside, and Nor'baal had entered alone. After all, appearing in such places under excessive guard, was a little rude. Plus, if anyone did try anything, and somehow managed to succeed, he was sure the vast bounty they incurred would ensure they didn't get very far.

"Sorry your 'ugeness." he was interrupted from his thoughts as a Rodian business being, spiced up and drunk, tripped into him. He grabbed the creature by the scruff of its neck, and licked his lips <Cheepsa, sleemo.> the Rodian quickly went through multiple shades of purple as it realised just who it had tripped into, before garbling another apology and running off.

<Uba!> he gestured to the barkeep <Wa manbesa dah bu Hutts.> he slammed credits on the bartop, after all, who needed to make friends, when you could just buy some?

Iniya eyed the door as more people started walking in, especially those she recognized. Pleasure curled in her gut and plans formed in her head. There were already three people from different syndicates, two of which were the leaders of their syndicates. She continued to scan the crowd and noticed their host dancing with an attractive tiefling. She put some credits on the counter for her drink and then picked up her said drink to walk through the crowd. She was glad she had worn what she had, because it drew attention to her, and Force knew she loved attention.

Aden Archer was starting to become a recognized name, mostly in the realm of mercenary starfighter pilots. He's a veteran in the trade. If you wanted something done in space, then people could just ask Aden's way and then throw a good deal of credits his way afterwards.

The spacer made his way to Takodana. He hasn't been there before, but he knows of the planet significance. Former home of Maz Kanata, and one of the important battles in the First Order war was fought here. Aden stopped into the cantina to relax, have some fun, and maybe see if he can find some more work. Aden would be wearing a urban-style casual outfit.

Already, here he took advantage of a Hutt paying for everyone's drinks. Don't mind? Free drinks are quite nice indeed. With a Corellian brandy in now hand, he would nod towards the Hutt (@Nor'baal) as if to say thank you. He's not sure about personally going over there and saying so in person though.

Grace would chuckle a bit as Xol claimed he wasn't interested in flattery. That actually sounded just like him, but she felt it was well deserved none the less. After all, he seriously helped the consortium back on Hypori and Pzob. "Well, the least I can do is buy ya a drink--"

As she offered however, she would notice @Nor'baal Desilijic across the bar intimidating some poor rodian. After which he would grant free drinks to everyone! "Well, I guess the hutt beat me to the punch." She would then signal over the barkeep, who would place a glass of Coruscant whiskey in front of her. It would be then that she noticed Mae approach. "Grand to see you as well old friend. Frankly, I don't know much about our host... But I know someone who might."

After one big sip, she would give Xol a smirk and would then look over to Nor'baal. "I'm gonna go have a word with the big boss. You can both come along if you'd like." She would then exit her barstool, and walk toward the fellow crime lord.

"Nor'baal. Didn't expect to see you here. Long time, no see, unfortunately."

If someone had told Khalid a couple years ago that he would find himself partying with pirates Khalid would've laughed at them. The Tiefling cowboy was always a guy that gravitated towards the less...legal ways of the galaxy, but until recently he didn't have much to do with pirates save for the ones he had hunted down for money from time to time...That being said with time he started getting in the more unsavoury parts of the syndicate bussiness, so it was no surprise he had now being invited to such an event.

Wearing some casual clothing and a pair of sunglasses, but also carrying a not so casual blaster and matukai gloves, Khalid Din walked through the door with a cocky grin on his face, surveying the situation before immediately walking towards the bar, ordering some Corellian whiskey before taking a better look and surveying the situation.

First thing he noticed was the amount of famous syndicate people: The ugly mean enforcer Xol, the sharpshooter Edin Frost (Who would've thought he was a choccy milk kinda guy) the big Hutt Nor'baal (Second time that he had bought him a drink now, lucky him) and alongside him Grace Zann, who had been talked about on TV recently after the whole Kuat Drive Yards deal.

But he also saw some familiar faces around, like the pilot Archer who he had worked with, who Khalid waved at the moment he noticed him and...Jabari? The hell was his little brother doing in a criminal party? The Tiefling cowboy narrowed his eyes as he looked at him, he would have to ask him about it later. To be fair now, Khalid really couldn't scold him for anything he did, given how he was the black sheep of the family, but Jabari was supposed to be a more legal kinda person...At least legal enough to not be invited to a pirate party, then again, he was almost as much of a liar as Khalid himself.

For now, the Tiefling cowboy would let him have his fun with the hostess and enjoy his drink, surveying the situation before deciding who he would try to scam/talk to/flirt to/all of above in a moment.

Iniya decided talking to people would get her places faster than just attracting eyes as she walked through the crowd. She ran into someone tall near the bar and stumbled backwards. She looked up to see she had run into another tiefling. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the other tiefling dancing with the hostess. "Oh, sorry, I was distracted," she said, which was an unusual truth. She had been intending to talk to people, but with a little more grace than slamming into them in the middle of a crowded party. She noted the tiefling's blaster.

Almost right as Xol thought about the Great Nor'baal, the Hutt leader had burst through the door. Xol's boss, for the time being, was about as disrespectful as a drunk on spice, which reminded the Tognath of what he wanted to get out of this party. A new boss. Grace Zann was more on the Enforcer's speed than Rafe and Nor'baal. The wolf was a vicious leader, but he had no restraint...and the Hutt? Well...he was a Hutt. Xol didn't want to be an appetizer for the new rancor anytime soon if Norbs ever lost interest in the Tognath.

Then, Mae 'The Murderer with Standards' Tecono showed up with her snobbish attitude and utter disdain for Xol. What the hell was her problem? And why was she dressed like a whore? Was she expecting to get laid by the Hutt and then use it as blackmail?
<Good evening, Mae.> Xol scoffed before gesturing to the hostess dancing with a tiefling. <Why don't you go ask her yourself?> Then, Xol left to follow after Grace, taking a seat next to her.

<Hm, what do you know of the old Haxion Brood?> He muttered quietly. Xol used to be a pirate before joining the Syndicates, but as much as he wanted a new boss, he also wanted to be his own boss. Maybe the Tognath could drag the Brood into a splinter group of the Consortium. It would be an easier way to gain his own foothold in this Force forsaken galaxy, anyway.

It was abundantly clear that Jabari wasn’t expecting Nymeria to begin leading him towards the dancefloor as he went in for the handshake - eyes going comically wide and expression stuck for a moment as she tugged him along. Naturally, the Tiefling put up little resistance - following her towards the middle of the room without another word.

He watched as the woman raised their conjoined hands and twirled - moving effortlessly and gracefully on the dancefloor. The Tiefling couldn’t help the way his burgundy gaze lingered on the woman in front of him - from the clothes she wore, to the way her brown hair cascaded down to her shoulders. Jabari at once could feel a bit of warmth that rushed to his face, though his naturally gray-tinted skin made it difficult to notice. A wide smile worked its way onto Jabari’s face as Nymeria asked her question, her body already starting to move to the music.

“Would be mah pleasure, darlin'." He finally said, flashing a playful wink before using their conjoined hands to pull the Pirate Queen a bit closer against him before shifting to lay it gingerly against her back. Within moments, Jabari began to effortlessly get into the dancing with Nymeria - raising a hand above his head as his body rolled and grooved to the music. He bobbed his head, the Tiefling’s tail happily swishing around behind him as he moved. He didn’t take his eyes off Nymeria - burgundy eyes glinting vibrantly against the dancefloor lights.

After a moment or two, Jabari once more reached to grasp the Pirate Queen's hand - lifting it above her head to gracefully spin the woman on the balls of her feet - completing a few rotations before stopping her so that she was still directly facing him. For the moment, Nymeria had completely captured the young Tiefling’s attention - leaving him completely oblivious to the other well-known figures who rolled up to the bar, or more importantly, the fact that his older brother was amongst them.

As usual, Xol was his trashy self and made no effort to make friends, but that can be expected from the literal assholes of the galaxy. She was grateful as always for Graces pleasantries and dismissed her needing to leave as this too had to be a great networking opportunity for her and her Consortium.

Now, left alone at the party in the booth, it was her turn to mingle and what better way then when the drinks are on the Hutts?! She went straight for the bar. She was a bit of a light weight given her size, so she did not drink often and because of that, was unsure of what to get. When the barkeep asked, she looked at the two next to her and saw one with a fruity type drink, "Ill have one of those" she said as she pointed at @Edin Frost 's drink.

She looked up at the man who she just mimicked her drink after. He stood about a foot taller then her and had what looked like purposely scruffy hair. He was dressed well but not too well. Mae caught herself before her eyes were caught looking him over. She wondered briefly what a charming looking young man such as him would have to do with a group like this. She was not much to be one that would start a conversation, she liked to keep people at an arms reach until she at least got to know them better, but there was something about him that intrigued her.

"Your drink looked too delicious not to try!" She said to him holding up the same drink as him and sipping it. It came out a bit awkwardly but Mae decided to just roll with it. She needed to meet some new people and expand her circle a bit, why not start with him.

The words 'grand opening' and 'drinks are on the house' were all it took to lure Amira in off the streets of Takodana and into the crowded establishment that, at one point or another, had been a castle. It could hardly be called a castle now, as the Hutt in front of her so emphatically pointed out, but it had its own unique flavor of charm.

Amira was only on Takodana for a few hours, on a layover as she made her way back to Sith Space in the north. With time to kill, she figured she might as well make the most of it, and what better way to pass the time than to take the local proprietor of a cantina for all you can get?

Head held high, Amira's yellow gaze settled on the bar and never strayed any farther. She crossed the room, tail swishing nonchalantly behind her, completely oblivious of her brothers' presence. The Tiefling hadn't seen her family in years, and a run-down cantina on Takodana was the last place she expected to run into any of her blood relations.

"Don't they clean up after the Hutts around here?" she asked of no one in particular, sliding into the stool next to a Half-Firrerro in a black leather jacket and one of the shortest girls she'd ever laid eyes on. One of the shortest girls she'd ever laid eyes on that wasn't an Ewok, to be more accurate. "I nearly fell on my exhaust port slipping over the slime he left in his wake."

There was no animosity in her tone as her gaze settled on her two companions at the bar, yellow eyes evaluating the pair with sociable curiosity. "Mind if I sit here?" she added as an after thought. Before they could answer, she turned to address the bartender. "Do you have one of those Emryc Energy drinks I keep hearing about? I can't get 'em on Eriadu." @Trix @Sreeya

Ignoring Aden Archers courteous nod, Nor'baal glowered into his beverage. Coo wohot da dopa-dondichola bouka-bimhee yae selan-moh canta goo doth! he fumed - a human nodding at him as if he was an equal! Maybe it was a distraction? But from what?

Dubiously, the Hutt peered into his drink, and sniffed it, checking for poison.

<Abahanobata haptena, see pacmhanaduee!> he grumbled to himself, lowering the drink back onto the bar top, and slyly grinning as he waved down the barkeep. Pointing to Aden, he finally returned the man's nod, as he had his own drink carried over to the man.

<Panwa!> he chuckled to himself, once again his five-dimensional power-play outsmarting his would-be assassin. Oblivious to the fact that Adem was just trying to be polite, and wasn't trying to kill him off, Nor'baal turned his attention to the young female, Grace Zann, an up-and-comer in the galactic crime scene. However, as an avid watcher of the holonews, Nor'baal couldn't help but be aware of her recent unwanted media attention.

<Sa, fa doth vee ba lhonbau cuova che uba bai neu mi.> he replied, and, seeing her half-drunk beverage, took it deftly from her. She was, clearly, still alive, and ergo: her beverage was not laced with toxins, thus, her drink was now, his drink. <Hocan, Jee banka pioye Jee gee neu koumhaptece bai kiuke see uba, Zann Lhola.> he waggled a fat finger at her <Uba chespo jah bakanh bai kae, an cay dokanu, bu Benbepoka- bu bmala see bakanh jeejee cha dayan.>

Nor'baal glowered at her, his voice becoming laced with anger <Dayan Jee bmeheka mee uba da Jee gee ata ritke babcenetky bai tram pee doi bu jotke keueka-ou mee jakola nai kachu?> he referred to non-Hutt managed groups in general <Toupee mi, doth uba meeto toe wepta tah chaduae, mo wohot Nor'baal gee bai wepta fa che uba?>
