Kotii's left hand still hurt. The cybernetic arm was still healing after the events in the gladiatorial fighting pits. The expert care he received from Doctor Morata helped him recover but he knew he needed to take it easy. For Black Hand, that meant continuing to only take on work where he could rely on his non-dominant hand.
The palms of both hands were fitted with black gloves and faced the emotionless T visor that looked down at them. Behind the visor the scarlet irises of the Echani offshoot would not have been able to tell the left was artificial. The man wasn't sure he liked the synthetic skin and had debated just having the plain metal exposed. Ultimately he accepted the offer. Something about effectively having the nerve endings connected and draw-speed decided the debate. The Doc had worked her magic and then some it seemed.
The Alor in Exile was not going to remain idle and rest in bed. His clan was scattered for their own safety and it would be a few more weeks before Kotii would get to see his son, Hauron again. The young Mikkian was probably training with the other foundlings and hopefully Atin was teaching him how to fly.
Looking up from his hands, the Mandalorian looked at the blue tunnel of hyperspace. A sensor alerted him to the fact they would be dropping out of hyperspace soon. Taking hold of the controls the solo crew eased the ship first into a field of streaking stars and then just as quickly the bounty hunter would see a star system come into focus. The patrol ship began an approach towards Ventooine's surface.
From what Kotii knew, the planet was a backwater world with a population of a few hundred million. Descending through the atmosphere the badger took in the view of the mountains and mesas. It reminded him of a few other planets like Savareen or Tatooine but with a sort of uniqueness that all astronomical bodies had. A monarchy was the last local authority until they were killed over a century ago. Now Ventooine could be a haven for a despotic warlord or worse.
Kotii wasn't hear to kill a warlord though. Instead, he was tracking a bounty by the name 'Dewback'. Thus he was traveling under his bounty hunting alias, Black Hand. Using connections with the Bounty Hunter's Guild the Echani offshoot tended to keep an eye out for bounties that had certain crimes on their resume. Smuggling, trafficking in sentient species, and arms dealing. Dewback was wanted for all of them and then some. So when Kotii eventually escaped the gladiator pits, he had a lead waiting for him and a likelyhood of this trandoshan still being on the run.
After House Solus had attacked and blown up the Zyggerian Royal Palace, Kotii intended to chase down every last one of those who may still be at large. But as soon as he had returned to Mandalore with the freed slaves, Darth Raze was already on their doorstep. The Tor'la Akaan'ade were scattered and in essence, fighting a war on fall fronts including internally against other Mandalorians. Even their people were divided. But for now he needed to focus on the task at hand and hope it yields results. The payout for the bounty was not why he took the job, the man wanted intelligence on the bounty's operations and associates and he had the means to squeeze it out of the trandoshan, if he could find the reptile.
The Bevrag'ad's engines kicked up dust as it came in for a smooth landing in the city of Goyoikin. The ship would wind down as it cooled in the triangular shadows of the architecture. So far the city seemed relatively civilized and no fighter craft or hostiles seemed to show up on his scans. Taking one last look out of the cockpit, Kotii made sure the ship was locked up tight and wouldn't lead anything back to any old coverts.
After making sure his equipment and weapons were charged and ready, Black Hand left his ship behind and began walking towards what could be considered the 'tourist' district. Hotels and restaurants would eventually come into view. All the while, Kotii would walk calmly and evenly through the streets, looking for a sign of a Trandoshan or where he might see them. They liked meat so he wouldn't be hiding in a place next to a vegan restaurant unless he wanted to risk having someone deliver him protein or risk going out to get him himself. The Mandalorian's stomach grumbled and he made a note to grab something to eat before he left.
