Also as the only Greyjoy fan in the world, I'm vaguely happy to see that Balon won, even if he didn't show up in the episode like I thought he would.

If Daar- err, Euron just sweeps into Pyke next season and slaughters Balon and Yara (since Asha is meant to be with Stannis at this point) to trim the cast I wouldn't be surprised, given DnD's hardon for "OMG THE INSANE EVIL VILLAINS YOU HATE WON! SO SHOCKING!"

I don't know if it counts as a victory if nobody remembers who you are.

You two are right the Episode was kinda lame if you break it down. Although there where a few things i liked about it, Mainly Stannis's death scene, That dude is just a Badass. I know a lot of his fan base went tumbling down when he burnt his daughter alive, but i really did not mind. On top of that when those Bolton's all came out and Stannis has just got that look like "Were all about to get slaughtered, but i am going to fight anyways."

I think Stannis' expression when the Boltons charge, that defeated look of "Sigh... ah well, whatever." was about the same most Book!Stannis fans had on their faces when they saw the riders. Given Dillane's apparent disdain for the show that probably wasn't even acting on his part.

Season 6 episode 1 puts focus on the Ironborn, Asha as a character going on a quest to save her brother, and even Balon getting a bit of a sympathetic light, the later being shown to actually care about Theon, but not being willing to break from tradition and risk the iron fleet to save him.

Episode 2 has them all being killed by Euron, as stated above. Making the entire thing have as much if not more character development then Stannis and Shireen.
