Seems a bit too deep for DnD.
He'll get his head lopped off by Brienne in her ongoing murder crusade and the Unsullied will cheer because he's now evil ('again') in their eyes.

I haven't been interested in this series since I realized GRRM has no idea what the **** he's doing with his story anymore and I had to read through 500 pages of Cersei being an insane ****y bitch.
However it has been interesting how the show has dealt with 'overtaking' the books, effectively developing their own 'interpretation' of what GRRM has let the producers and writers in on about TWoW and ADoS.
I think part of it has to do with the insane popularity, but more-so the fanbase. I find ASOIAF and GOT fans incredibly annoying, and that's saying something coming from a Star Wars and Star Trek geek.

This was pretty by the numbers.
- Stannis oh how tragic... that we no longer care what happens to you at all. Much more effective if Davos had gotten to take Shireen and then it became an issue of Shireen being sacrificed to resurrect Jon Snow. I guess it's nice that Brienne got revenge on behalf of that guy none of us care about.
- Arya murderporn. But now she's blind! Also someone was clearly watching the cave scene in TESB. Still worked pretty well as a scene. I wonder how the face check-out system works. Do they have a catalog? A time limit? How many faces do you get to take with you?
- Sansa gets to be damsel-y again. Theon steps up. Eh.
- TEAM VARYON IS BACK IN BIDNESS. Seriously, this is the only really exciting thing this finale. Also this episode answered my question: Peter Dinklage has chemistry with everyone (and speaks Low/High Valyrian)
- Daario was way more interesting when away from Daenerys. Will be interesting to see his thang with Jorah.
- Oh no Myrcella. So sad. Not really. Dorne is still coming in pretty high on the pointless scale.
- Zombie Clegane. K
- Speaking of, that scene was gratuitous and exploitative. Just like in the books!
- Kewl CGI dargun. Weird racial imagery with one white person surrounded by a bunch of brown people from THE WILDERNESS. Also it's so clever of Martin/D&D to bring back the Dothraki for this. What a not-at-all convenient and unexpected twist.

It's pretty evident what's gonna happen next, too much foreshadowing (and character movements in the show now) for it to be anything else.
Mel ran away from Stannis, reaches the wall, has fresh king's blood powers to call upon. Lets resurrect some Snow.

That was honestly one of the bits of The North storyline (which has actually been the best in this wretched season or at least the most consistent) that didn't really work. WE HATE THE WILDLINGS isn't that convincing given what we've seen The White Walkers do. If they had just cut out this Dorne storyline (send Myrcella's head or something who gives a shit?) and put in a few more scenes with a bunch of wildlings and Night's Watchmen fighting and more tension and whatnot I would have bought it.
But as is? The conspiracy out of nowhere? No Tormund, etc. shadowing Jon Snow's every move (since something like this could happen?) Etc.
ADWD is a shitty horrible book. GRRM is a terrible writer. Most of the books are passable only as trashy genre books (though the first three are rather serviceable and there's nothing wrong with being trashy.) But even with all that in mind, it at least follows logically in the books when Jon Snow gets stabbed (after making a series of terrible decisions.)
