S-Cry-Ed is my favorite anime. I also enjoyed Karas the Revelation and Karas the Prophecy (i have the box set). Gun x Sword is also pretty good. Now that I think about it I might make a character based off of the main guy. Need to find a giant robot thought, now where can I find one of those? (wanders off)

Eureka 7 and Elfen Lied. I don't normally watch anime, but Eureka 7 is hands down one of the best ones that I've watched. It made me cry like a little bitch near the end.

(Note that 'Lied' is pronounced like 'Leed'. It means 'song' in German.)

Le Chevalier D'Eon and Mnemosyne are good as well.

Another good anime I stopped watching was Hare + Guu.

I'm watching BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad right now. It's a great change of pace with a modern setting and a focus on rock music.

I honestly need to tell my friend the difference between Anime and Fan Service... -_- God Damn Bravo Girls and Strike Witches...
:CStern

ANYWHO... I finished Desert Punk and the original FMA. Liked them both, Now prolly going to start on Brotherhood despite it not being all on Netflix. Also finished Dead Leaves and it's better then any Michael Bay film I ever saw.

Also gave Vandread a chance, and it seems interesting.

Ponyo... was one of the creepiest things I've ever saw, and Creepy Neeson did not help at all.

Ghost in a Shell... the movie anyways, was hard to follow and boring. Then I watched a few episodes of the show and liked it.

Fooly Cooly was... interesting.

Also saw another, but I can't place my finger on the name. Though one thing that stood out was that every character who was not a main one was colorless.

I'm wanting to try some of the other Anime listed here, only problem is it's not all on Netflix and the like.

I'd point out good ones from the Netflix list, but I don't have an account, so I can't browse the entire library. :x

Miyazaki films are good, though I will agree that Ponyo was... weird.. had a good cast of voice actors and the story was interesting but something seemed off... But Princess Mononoke is definitely my top recommendation for an awesome anime film...

Show wise though, I can only suggest Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. In my humble opinion, the best of the Gundams. If you like mechs and you like explosions and dramatic music featuring cockpit sequences and monologues about duty and honor and the nature of war and straight up killing bitches, it's the show for you.

I'll also back the recommendation on Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, and Cowboy Bebop. Adding to the recommendations, I honestly enjoyed YuYu Hakusho,Zoids, and One Piece

Gost in the shell, mushi-shi, fullmetal alchemist (original for sure), and for shit's sake give fooly cooly a chance. It's only 6 episodes and it's worth watching! The place promised us in our early days, anything miyazaki, I can't think of any others right now, netflix is seemingly limited to me.

Some others that are great and not listed;

Trinity Blood (****ing amazing series)
Soul Eater
Baccano
Fairy Tail
Deathnote (listed, but it's one of my favorites)
Inuyasha
Chibi Vampire
Robotech (it's a classic and amazing)
Trigun (again listed, but it's also ****ing amazing)
Read or Die
Bleach (it's ok. I mean, I like it just a bit)

an anime you should stray from if you ever get into manga;

Rave Master (completely butchers the anime. I hated the anime so much because almost nothing was right.)

So after taking a small break, I got to some watching some more.

Trigun: Interesting show, but it could not keep my interest.

This Ugly Yet Beautiful World: More interesting world, and after watching first three, will watch rest when the others come onto Netflix. Damn it for only having half the show on there. -_-

Elfen Lied: Loving it so far, though Netflix really botched up the episode order they come in.

A note on Brotherhood. Remember! The first Anime breaks so much canon it's not even funny. Brotherhood is a reset making it more true to the manga. Not a sequel series.

Hajime No Ippo (could have misspelled) great sport anime. It is based around boxing and has a nice mix of characters, action, and humor.

D-Gray-Man: A great anime, one of the best iv ever seen. It has a darker theme to it, but it is good nonetheless. I would suggest skipping the first episode as it is rather strange. I prefer it over bleach, naruto or one piece due to the Character development it has that the other 3 do not have as much. Note: Watch it in Japanese.. the dubbed is just bad.

Skip-beat: More of a girl centered anime, but I love it. Great characters, good plot, and very funny scenes. Out of the three, its the one I would recommend the most.

If I had to make a suggestion, it'd be these;

Gintama: Hilarious anime. If you like making fun of other anime, like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, this is the show for you. Aside from doing parody's, the anime has its own story arc which it follows, but focuses a lot on comedy.

Darker than Black: Gotta love the Japanese-Electric Batman, also known as Hei or the "Black Reaper". This is a really good show if you like action, plot, and not the cheesy crap that is in most Shonen anime and manga.

I can suggest Baccano! Its a 1930s gangster anime that's really good. Other than that, Eden of the East.

Finally they added Brotherhood volume 3 to Netflix.

Also, I cried for several minutes at the end of Elfen Lied.

If you take this suggestion, Phil, only watch the first season of Darker than Black. The second is utter shit.

I don't know if you all would consider this anime but Avatar the last airbender was my life while it was running.

To me, it's Amerime. Basically American-imitation of the anime style.
