Why are the grenades the size of solfballs now?
Lol, I just never saw a reason to use it when the pistol and the br both had faster kill rates. And why the **** would you use the asr in Halo CE? The pistol killed people in three shots. XP. The smg does more damage in halo 3 and can be dual wielded. The asr has no redeeming feature unless you fire it in perfect bursts for the bonus headshot damage that only exists on the first shot. XP. ASR has horribly shot range to do efficient damage, and any br user or pistol user will simply walk backwards if you're dumb enough to rush them. And if it comes down to melee, you always lose.
Its probably why mlg players refuse to wield them, and everyone with high kill levels stays with the br/ pistol.
Because the AR is the starting weapon in Halo 1?
And also, I would always take out the BR player who got in close while I was using the AR. It does great damage close and medium. And I don't know why you say it sucks with melee, because all you have to do is sqeeze the trigger for like two seconds then bash for win. Also, MLG players don't use a lot of weapons, not because they're too weak, but because they take no skill, aka they're cheap.
Edit: Also, I forgot to mention, the SMG does not do more damage than the AR unless it is dual-wielded, and that's with super short range and crazy recoil.
At close range the smg's rate of fire and only being somewhere like 3 damage points lower makes it have a higher damage rate at close range. The fact that it dual wieldeable as well makes it an all around better weapon imo.
By the melee sucking, I meant that when both players melee at about the same time, The BR user is guaranteed a win, unless they suck.
I guess its all just preferrence, I tend to prefer skill weapons over sprayer weapons, and others dont. :/
1) Well that makes sense since the SMG is built for CQC. But as everyone knows recoil and short range make it piss poor even bursting for medium range with dual wielding on amplifying the issues. Assault rifle is a jack of all trades weapon and remains my favorite Halo weapon.
2) I've never seen any weapon being preferred in a melee unless it is a hammer or sword.
3) AR is definitely a skill weapon.
Wait, how do you consider the SMG the better weapon, if you just ragged on the AR for its range? Dual-wield a couple SMGs and charge someone, they have a better chance of getting away than if you were using the AR.At close range the smg's rate of fire and only being somewhere like 3 damage points lower makes it have a higher damage rate at close range. WTF does XP mean? And what level are you in halo 3?
I believe he was using it as an emoticon.
Seriously, why can't this franchise just die already...
Your logic makes no sense. There are other franchises that are longer then the Halo franchise. Go rag/troll/complain about those ones if you feel you must.

Age doesn't equate poor quality. At this point they're simply making Halo games because they sell.
Same could be said about the Call of Duty series, all the EA Sports game series, the Final Fantasy series, the Dragon Ball fighting games and several others that seem to come out so fast.
It's the most balanced weapon in the entire game... I don't mean to be rude, but you really don't seem to know what you're talking about.Dual wield capability. If im out of smg range, Id use the BR, not the asr. Or a pistol. XP. And its not even the asr's range that is the biggest problem, its damage output and usefulness in multiple situations has always seemed very poor to me.
The Final Fantasy games aren't really a series though... They're kind of like a sub-genre of JRPGs.Same could be said about the Call of Duty series, all the EA Sports game series, the Final Fantasy series, the Dragon Ball fighting games and several others that seem to come out so fast.
