Hey guys and gals. I'm hoping to return and I'm trying to come up with some character concepts. I have it narrowed down to 5 archetypes.

1: The Old Master - A human man in the older years of his life who has served in the Jedi Order since very early childhood. He is now contemplating his future as he nears his latter years and is reflecting on what he has achieved during his time with the Order and what he has yet to do.

2: The Stalwart Knight - A human woman in her early twenties who has served in the Jedi Order since childhood. She does have some memories of her life before being found by a Jedi Watchman, however these memories are a blur and confusing to her, She is a dedicated student of the Blade and strives for perfection in her Forms. She has a rather limited view on the galaxy at large and this is sometimes a challenge for her, and her Master.

3: The Pious Padawan - A young Mirialan girl in her late teens. She has been a Padawan for a few years and is devoted to the religious philosophy of the Jedi Order. It can seem to others that she is weak and lacking drive; however she is strong of character and has an almost unshakable view of what is right and wrong.

4: The Grey One - A Miralukan woman in her late twenties or early thirties who was once a member of the Jedi Order but left due to differences of opinion with the other Masters over their apparent lack of compassion for those in the galaxy that are suffering without need. She is by no means a Dark Jedi and staunchly rejects the views of the Sith, she simply believes that more can be done by the Order to help those in need.

5: The Lost One - A young human woman who has abandoned the Jedi Order. She believes that they wish to punish her for striking out at her Master in Anger. She is travelling down a dark and dangerous path without guidance and is at risk of falling to the Dark Side.

I like the last two, they provide a more interesting stories IMO.

Any but three. Don't care for that one.

Given current events and how desperate the Jedi Order and Galactic Alliance need young, strong-willed and competent leaders, I think #2 would be perfect. The first and third could also work, but you would be far too focused on training if you chose the padawan. There's a war to fight and the Jedi need help quickly if they are to save the GA from being overrun and ensure the Sith do not succeed in their conquest for domination.

Okay. Having a closer look at the #2 and #4 as they have the most results so far. Would be happy to see a few more votes and responses with reasons etc. Thanks all who've voted so far.

I take a bit of a differing view than a few that have been espoused when I say that I think the Old Master actually offers the most room for great character and story development. They’re all very basic archetypes (not that there’s anything wrong with that; I use archetypes too, and what matters is how you use them) though the stories in 2-5 seem like things I’ve seen a lot of.

The Old Master is also a basic archetype but it offers lots of room for deep, personal introspection because it’s the most real. Every single person in the world when they get old enough goes through that, so it’s the most human of these concepts. Given the power of the character and their rank (provided that GABA, the Jedi FL, and/or the Council approved that rank—though it could still work just as well if the character was a Knight), that only amplifies the element of the human condition.

I'd definitely go with #1.

As expected from Brandon, a very well formed opinion. Thank-you. :)

I'll leave this here over night and see what results we have after work tomorrow. I'm getting an idea of what to work on though and will hopefully be able to post a profile tomorrow night.

I personally prefer 4; the one I voted for. I actually have, pretty much, that exact archetype already (Tuwan), though, so I'm a little biased. I believe that allows the most room for character development because you're more free to do as you wish, being outside the realm of most of the Order's influence. I also just enjoy having a character with more freedom than those staunchly within main factions. Also, while questioning herself and her beliefs, that allows for tremendous character development; finding her place in the galaxy and such.

Of course, given that a PC of such likeness already exists, I can see the turn off for that one. :/
However, it would be most interesting if they met up. ^^

Granted, the first option allows for that as well. Given that he's an old and wise Master, he would have more say in what he does with less influence from the Council. In a way, of course. From what I've witnessed, the Order needs more competent Masters, so you'd be filling a vital role there.

#1 was a close second for me, but I didn't vote for that (as well) because I simply like the idea of the forth one the best. Besides, Miralukas are just cool. ^^
(Of course you could mix and match a little)

I like the pious padawan, it's similar to my concept of Orphen though she's more an uncorruptable incocense and sence of right and wrong, rather than pure zeal. But it's definatly there. ^_^

Okay then. After some consideration I have decided to go with The Old Master as my first new character. I feel he would be the best to start with due to the fact that I could take my time with him and not be too worried about getting caught up in things (like battles and such).

I know The Stalwart Knight has so far come out on top but I do plan on releasing all these characters at some point so depending on how things go she will be next.

Thanks for the help so far folks. And if the Jedi FL could PM me with a few suggestions for back story and whether or not I can make a Master that would be great, thanks.

I had a character exactly like #4 before I went inactive several months back. Miralurkan male, gray jedi. Probably my favorite character, lots of fun. So yeah, #4
