There was a familiarity to being back on Corellia. The air, the sounds, and even if she did not know who were the people that passed them, they looked familiar. She kept close pace with Emryc, admittingly, she thought he smelled better than the beings that would past them on the street. However, she felt exposed and vulnerable being next to him and she tried to brush it off as her hair being down. The teen was certain others were looking at her as well as the quick gazes from pointed-ears.

They neared the club and Lyra frowned when she saw the line and people walking away because they were not allowed inside. She understood now why he thought she were his best chance at getting inside. However, he would give her an instruction and she looked at him with puzzlement. "He's not going to believe me if you're not on the list." she frowned, looking at the front of the line at the bouncer checking in names. She thought he was joking, but as she met his silver gaze, there was a seriousness to him. The teen raised her eyebrows and sighed, "Make him believe me..."

Lyra rubbed her cheeks, uncertain to make of this, but something told her she could possibly make this work. She glanced at Emryc and hooked her arm around his own, making it look like they could be a couple. As they approached the entrance, it was blocked by the bouncer and Lyra smiled, flipping her red hair over her shoulders.

"Name?" he grumbled and Lyra raised her eyebrows giving a surprised look, she didn't even know the name of the guy next to her.

"I just told you who we were." Lyra spoke, "We're on the list." she stated flatly. The bouncer just starred at her and then at Emryc, he didn't dismiss them, she knew he was trying to process how he could have missed hearing the name she had given. But there was something else she could feel, so she spoke again, "You will let us into this club, you see our names on your list."

He could tell she was struggling, but he was patient. The Force took its time, but those who wielded it could make it do their bidding. She simply had to believe it for herself. There was an awkward moment as seconds ticked by and the bouncer grew angrier. There was a long line behind them and they were holding it up.

Emryc was about to step in, but he noticed the man’s eyes glaze over slightly. He muttered something about finally seeing their names as he slowly stepped aside. Emryc grinned in satisfaction, glancing over at the girl to let her know she had done this. She had successfully swayed a mind. Did she even realize her own success?

The club was thumping with music, a low bass beat dropping as the lights flashed. The smell of perfume and cologne mixed with sweat was almost overwhelming. The volume of music was almost unpleasant for Emryc’s sensitive ears, but he enjoyed the club scene too much to care.

They had to cut through the floor to get to the back and he was going to enjoy himself. He used the Force to casually bring over a shot glass from a tray, throwing it back in a moment. He began to move slightly to the beat, blending in to make his way across.

He glanced over to see the expression on the girl’s face, wondering if she was as mortified here as back in the bar. She already had other men trying to dance against her or invite her over to dance with them. Emryc, as he promised, could be a gentleman. And he kept a respectable distance as he downed a second shot, clearly mixing pleasure with business.

The teen watched as the bouncer finally agreed and stepped to the side. She felt as though she could do more to him, feeling his own dull mind in an invisible grasp. Lyra couldn't explain the sensation, but Emryc stirred beside her, bringing her back to present as she thought she saw a grin from him. Realizing he was heading inside, she followed also, feeling the bass rumble through her body, it brought a spark of excitement; never did she realize she would ever set foot in such a place, and now here she was.

Though the further inside they went, the less appealing this place became and the more she started to think this was possibly one of the worst places in the galaxy. The smell was horrid and she purposely stayed close to Emryc to try and smell his cologne only, but it wasn't much help especially when she felt others pull on her to join them in dancing. Though she wouldn't call it much dancing as it was grinding against her and she had lost count to the number of those who grabbed at her butt.

Emryc would turn to look at her, she was beyond mortified and was reaching to the point she would rather burn this place to ash than to let it exist. He kept grabbing shots and Lyra pulled herself against, "Can we please hurry this up some? I am this close to ruining this place for everyone." she demanded with annoyance, irritation, and desperation, probably more so because he was enjoying himself with shots and she was was being fondled by strange males.

Emryc was in the process of grabbing the hand of a twi’lek that wanted to dance with him. However, that was when the redhead randomly sprang in from nowhere and brushed against him. He sighed as his fingers pulled back from the sweaty ones of the twi’lek. He finished off his shot and turned to look at the girl.

“You do that and I’m leaving you here,” He explained curtly, “With all these fine gentlemen,” He glanced over all around them. He didn’t wait for her response, finding an opening in the crowd to walk through. He made his way over, using the Force to push and nudge anyone out of the way. A few people looked around in confusion, but most were too drunk or blitzed to care.

At long last, they were out of the dance floor. He turned to look at the girl. Her hair was disheveled and she was…

“Where is your shoe?” He asked as he glanced down at her feet. Emryc simply sighed and rolled his eyes, “Let’s hope you didn’t lose the blaster too.”

Their path took them to a door in the back. He had a keycard to use for it and it opened up to some very shady looking stairs that led below. He gestured for her to go first. Gentleman and all.

Lyra pursed here lips together, ready to huff out a response to explain how wrong he was about the guys in this club being gentlemen, however, Emryc seemed to take the hint, creating a path through the crowd. Lyra did her best to keep up, but strangers kept touching her, trying to pull her over for a dance, others running their hands through their hair and she swore at some point her foot got stuck somewhere on the floor. By the time she reached the other end with pointed-ears, her eyes were wide, teeth clenched and ready to spring like a frightened rabbit. Emryc looked unamused commenting about her shoe missing. "Wha?!" she looked down seeing it was indeed gone, "...the kriff...?"

The teen followed with a slight limp from her missing footwear, taming her wild locks into a bun on top of her head to somewhat look like she had it all together. They stopped at a door in the back of the building and he had a keycard to give them access; she frowned wondering what else it opened and if the front entrance had even been necessary. With the door open, she glanced down the dark stairwell as he welcomed her to go first. Her eyes narrowed in annoyance, she did not want to go anywhere else but lifted her chin and stepped gently down the steps, letting her eyes adjust to the dark and eventually it became apparent of the black lights that made parts of the basement glow.

Though as she reached the bottom, it was clear they were getting closer to whoever he was supposed to meet. Doorways to private rooms lined the walls with guards outside almost each one. It would have been nice to know which way they were going, but a wookiee guard approached seeming to have expected them. He growled and Lyra's eyes widened and pointed to Emryc, "He...we're here to drop off some things." she told the wookiee who scanned her up and down, eventually settling his intimidating gaze to her feet and lack of shoe. He growled and she swore he rolled his eyes, but seemed to know who they needed to speak with and lead them to one of the larger private rooms at the end.

The smell would be obvious before they entered, a gluttonous Hutt was behind those doors.

Emryc’s sensitive ears twitched as the uneven clack of Lyra only having one shoe rang through the air. Very few things managed to aggravate the normally cold and collected man, but this sound made him want to bodily throw her down the hallway. He simply internally told himself this too was a test and one that he would overcome.

When they came across the Wookie, Emryc opened his mouth to speak, but the girl did it first. A flash of anger glinted in his eyes, but he still maintained his composure. She found unique ways to get under his skin without ever realizing what she was doing. Emryc exhaled as they stepped through the door.

The only decent smelling thing here was Emryc’s cologne. The Hutt smelled horrible, and so did the slave women around him that were slick with sweat and oils that were entirely too strong. They looked over at Lyra, almost with jealousy, as they kept dancing for the Hutt and the Gamorreans around him.

Emryc eyed the women for a moment before walking over to the Hutt. He took out the spices from his pockets before dumping them before him.

“As promised,” He muttered, “The other half of my payment now.”

Emryc’s eyes kept glancing over at the giant stash of spice that was locked a short distance behind the Hutt. He had been eyeing that load for a while now, thinking about just how big of a score it would be to redistribute and sell.

“Look for immediate exits,” His voice would suddenly speak within Lyra’s mind. He kept a blank gaze ahead, the Hutt now opening up the packets to sniff at what he brought to confirm it was genuine.

Lyra thought she had seen gross things in the galaxy, but seeing a Hutt in person had to make the top of the list. She took note of the females that surrounded him, unable to figure out if they were covered in oils or if it was Hutt drool. The teen concluded it was probably both, her eyes meeting the some of the slave women who had a piercing stare that made Lyra shift her weight and quickly look to other things.

Her inexperience would show and probably would further irritate Emryc as her focus seemed to be on everything else except for the Hutt. She would refocus as Emryc approached the Hutt, just until one of the slave women who was dancing kicked her in the back of the leg, making the teen's knee buckle. She snapped a warning scowl at the possible dancer who continued to smile, but satisfied in her accomplishment.

The Hutt inhaled deeply from its pipe, watching the kid dump the remaining spice onto the tray. The slug didn't speak and blew out the a smoke cloud the seemed to have fermented for too long in its lungs while one of the women lifted the tray so he did not have to bend to pick it up. It sniffed one the packets and paused, noticing the glance to the spice locked away behind it.

The Hutt let out a low, long chuckle. "/Looking to make another deal?/" Its large body rippled as it turned as far as it could to gesture to the spice, "/You have something I like,/" the Hutt looked at Lyra, "/I have something you like,/" another gesture to the spice and then make a clicking noise to which the guards in the room took a step forward.

"/Name your price, but I haven't seen a human with such fire on her head and I will have her./"

Lyra was listening and she now regretted everything, she was ready for a fight and looked to Emryc to see what he was going to decide. Feelings told her he may not be as reliable as she hoped he would be.

Emryc’s eyes fixed on the spice behind the Hutt, a visible glint in them from the offer. He said nothing for a moment. After that, he walked over towards Lyra. When she saw him approaching, she would think he was about to object and leave with her. However, he simply spun her around and took her blaster from her, shoving her towards the Hutt. It was time for her to sink or swim. She had weapons if she wanted to use them.

“We have a deal,” He said as he stashed the blaster away without bothering to look over at Lyra, “Pack it up, boys,” He barked at the guards that quickly began to get to work. The Hutt began to guffaw, excited about his new prospect. He reached one of his slimy fingers over to touch Lyra’s face.

Emryc paid it no heed, walking where some of the guards were smoking hookah. He decided to kill time by grabbing the hose and drawing from it. He got a buzz instantly, realizing that it was laced with just the right amount of spice. He would simply take the rest of the spice and leave. The girl had come in handy after all.

Just as the spice was ready to go, there was a massive crash upstairs. Emryc rose to his feet, hearing screaming and panic above. Shots were fired and it sounded like a stampede.

It seemed like time had stopped as she waited to see what pointed-ears was going to do; she held her breath and she felt her heart flutter with hope as he turned to walk to her. For a moment, Lyra believed he was going to tell the Hutt to piss-off but he moved so quick as she felt herself spin and the blaster being removed from her backside. Before she had a second to process what had happened, she was face-to-face with the Hutt as he ran his fat, slimy fingers along her face.

Her heart thumped against her chest, the betrayal ran hot through her veins, her cheeks reddening with anger at Emryc's decision, but there was something else, a familiar whisper, a promise. The Hutt spun her around to hold her against him like a doll and Lyra watched as Emryc enjoyed himself with the pipe. The audacity he had infuriated the teen further and deep inside, she knew she could do something, it told her she could do so much more. An inescapable cold fell in the room and Lyra let out an ear-piercing scream, the dark side reveled in her anger and pain.

The glass bulbs of the hookah pipes exploded, sending glass shards in all directions. The dancers screamed with surprise and the Hutt had let out a sound that must have been of shock, his whole body rippled and released his grasp on Lyra. He would never hold another girl once Lyra was finished. There was a power she had never felt before. It burned like fire and she would fulfil her vow to bring this place to ruins. She felt chaos erupted on the floor above them and the guards hesitated not knowing to address the disturbance upstairs or subdue the new slave who just lost her shit. The Hutt was also yelling behind her, now blaming Emryc and to turn their blasters against him.

Two gamorreans charged at the redhead and whisper said she could stop them and so Lyra did, throwing out her palms, the energies of the dark side sent the swine back into the panicking dancers. One dropped their weapon and Lyra picked up the vibroaxe, activating the device.

Emryc was still clutching the hookah hose when the bulb exploded from the unbridled fury that unleashed from the girl. He inspected the hose for a moment before tossing it, lazily reaching for his saber. It was about time the girl tapped into what was inside her the whole time. He had been raised as a Sith his whole life, and he didn’t entirely understand the concept of realizing Force potential later in life.

Saber ignited, he skillfully deflected the bolts coming his way, actively aiming them back. The precision allowed the bolts to hit vital areas and drop the guards where they stood. The entire scene played out as if it were in slow motion, chaos unfolding all around him. The redhead was in the center of it all, glass and debris flying all around her. It was almost beautiful to watch.

Emryc strolled over to where Lyra had thrown the Gamorreans and he coiled the Force around the shards of glass all around them. With a flick of his wrist, they were all sent towards the pigs, peppering them with glass along their throats and chest.

While the chaos went on, Emryc walked over to hoist the bag of spices over his shoulder. He made his way over to find an alternate exit as footsteps began to thunder down towards them. Before he did, he paused and looked at the girl.

“I can show you how control it,” He said with a half grin, “But I will never apologize.”

All Lyra wanted was to go back to her life prior - before she went on the run, before her own family shamed and abandoned her, before her parents were murdered at the hands of the Sith. She was supposed to do normal things such as take exams, go to dance lessons after school, and hang out with friends at the mall on the weekend. Now the realization was slowly sinking in that she was one of them as she starred at the red saber held by Emryc.

What would her parents think if they saw her with this power?

They hated the Jedi and their wish-wash morals; they hated the Sith with how they killed their Ranger brethren; and they probably would be ashamed of their daughter if she had a power they could not understand or even believed it existed. Lyra felt a cold wash over her body as she looked at the bodies, debris and glass that laid on the floor, not a thought passed through her mind as everything went numb. She heard the commotion upstairs move through the hall toward their location and looked at Emryc with his ridiculous grin.

He made his offer. What else did she have?
Her body felt incredibly heavy from exhaustion as she dropped the axe, "I think I'm going to vomit." she groaned, following behind Emryc with her awkward one-shoe-limp through the back-exit.

He walked out with his prize and didn’t look back. He could sense the girl behind him, and he was impressed she was still on her feet. An outburst like that was taxing and would be enough to make most people collapse. He had an inkling that she was held together by sheer, stubborn will at this point. The thought brought a grin to his face, though she would simply watch him casually strolling back towards his ship.

“What you just did...what you just used to make things happen is called the Force,” He explained as soon as she caught up. He purposely walked slower to allow her to fall into step beside him. He didn’t look at her, but she had his attention, “You have always had it within you. You do have the choice of ignoring it entirely. Doing so will cause your abilities to slowly fade away over time and you can go back to a perfectly normal and civilian life,” He turned to glance at her then. This was not something any Jedi or Sith usually mentioned to anyone new they discovered to be Force sensitive. Force wielding potentials were extremely rare and the Eternal would be livid at his words. Yet Emryc found that the best wielders of the Force were those that did so by choice, those that had learned to love it.

“Or you can learn to wield it effectively and use your innate talents and abilities,” He looked forward again as he kept walking, “But it would mean letting go of the life you have now and stepping away from the past you know. You have to decide if you can let go.”

Emryc faintly grinned then, “You have seen now what you are capable of.”

The smell of the Hutt seemed to still linger in her nostrils as she inhaled, her breath shuddering as she was pushing herself not pass out from how tired her body felt; everything ached, and she still felt like throwing up. The teen was worried if she spoke, she would vomit and so she remained quiet while Emryc explained how she was able to do what she just did. It wasn't the first time she heard someone tell her about the Force and her connection to it. She was never sure what that meant especially it seemed like ever since it was mentioned to her, she felt like she had been noticing it more around her.

Lyra glanced at him when he explained her power would eventually fade if she chose to not pursue it. She could go back to a normal life, however, Lyra would have called her life far from normal. She did not believe going on the run and hopping from system to system was normal.

"My life now sucks." she pouted in typical teenage fashion, "I haven't even been to the mall in months, and I was supposed to finish tryouts for principal dancer. Dummy Dona probably go it." the teen let out a huff, "Instead, I've been..." she looked around the slum and then to Emryc and his bag of spice, "Used as a puppet so someone can go on a spice binge." Lyra heard the whispers and there was a sensation that stirred inside her core as she fought the urge to unleash again. She took a deep breath while looking at her hands as though she were waiting for the Force to manifest in her palms.

There was no going back when she had decided to go on the run and now with the Force, she did not believe anyone would take her. "I feel like a freak..." the scene in front of the Hutt flashed back in her mind and she shook her head in disbelief, "Wait...the bouncer? Was that the Force too?" she asked, her mood suddenly swinging from irritation to curiousness.

Emryc may have found her commentary dull and unwanted, but by nature he listened to everything someone said. He usually cut through the fat, but most of the time he observed and took in data. Half the things she said made no sense, but he kept walking anyway. What the hell was a mall, for instance? He filed that away to investigate later. He let her finish and kept walking for a moment before speaking.

“What kind of dance?” He said as he continued walking, “Classic Core Ballet? Nara? Boxnove three step? Margengai glide? Alderaanian waltz?” Emryc rattled off, finally glancing over. There was genuine curiosity in his eyes as he asked the questions, “And you could break Dona’s ankles if you wanted without touching her,” He finished with the hint of a grin.

He thought about her words of being used as a puppet, the grin becoming wider. She was still naive - she had no idea what it meant to be a puppet. He wouldn’t burst that bubble just yet, he was perfectly okay being the bad guy. She mentioned feeling like a freak and finally arrived at the bouncer.

“Yes,” Emryc said as his ship began to come into view. He glanced over at her again, “You can make people do what you want with your mind.”

He half expected her to immediately attempt on him for his own amusement.

She seemed to have said something that pique his interest and of all topics, it was her ability to dance. With how he presented himself, she would never had made the assumption he would be curious about such things as her impression so far about him involved spice, unsavory crowds, women, and drinking. Nothing associated with a privileged class such as ballroom dances and performances he listed off. "Ballet," Lyra gave a small grin, but it faded when he suggested she could break Dona's ankles without her even knowing.

She felt hot with anger though at the thought of Dona being the lead ballerina, "She's so dumb. She once called me fat and I was like no one here is fat, Dona. Her brain is probably fat because she is so dumb." Lyra huffed as pointed-ears confirmed her swaying of the bouncer was the Force. However, she seemed fixated on the resentment for someone else taking her spot. "I wouldn't break her ankles, I just would like to see her mess up in front of the elite of Corellia. Her form is off, she only was in the running for principal because her Mom is sleeping with the instructor. Its disgusting." Lyra continued with a sigh and an eye roll. She folded her arms and looked down at her feet, her sock was black from who knows what she had walked through while her other boot just looked awkward.

She thought about the feeling she had when she was able to sway the bouncer and gave a quick glance at Emryc. She had been so lost since the Corellian massacre had took her parents. There were promises that she would be with family-friends if anything had happened and for a while they fought for her; it was how things worked with the Rangers, you took care of each other, but it seemed like that wasn't true, they eventually conceded. School and dance were her only escapes until she got in a scuffle with her cousin and then no one seemed to want her. There were dangers of being alone and curiosity bit as to what else she could do to protect herself while using the Force.

Lyra looked at Emryc, eyes narrowed as she grasped at the familiar sensation, "You will take me to the mall and buy me new shoes." she stated, her words were lined with the power of the Force, but it was clear she was still a novice.

They were back on his ship and he set the big bag of spice down. He was ecstatic with his prize and a quick check in his datapad told him that the Hutt had wired his payment before he died. He listened to the girl talk about fat Dona, silently pondering ways that the Force could easily be used to do the slightest little tug to make her eat it during a performance.

He felt the girl suddenly concentrate and try to use the Force to make a suggestion. It had tugged at his mind, but he was practiced enough to fend off against it easily. He had to bite back the urge to grin, but he turned to look at her. He stared at her unblinking for a second or two, his lips parting slightly as he had a dazed look on his face.

“....I will take you to the mall and buy you new shoes..,” He said blankly and monotone, waiting for her to lead the way. He wanted to find out what this mall business was and this was his chance. He made sure to look dazed whenever she looked, following along behind her.

Lyra was holding her breath as she watched him turn to look at her, for a moment she was uncertain if it had worked. He was pretty expressionless to begin with, a gaze that was hard to read, but then he spoke. With every word he repeated, Lyra slowly inhaled and when she realized it worked, she let out a girly squeal of delight, accompanied by a series of small jumps in celebration of making her trick work and getting to go to the mall.

She looked again at Emryc, oblivious to the trick he was playing on her, seeing that he seemed still under her hypnotic suggestion. Grabbing her jacket and her backpack, she walked up to him, looking carefully at him as though she were waiting for him to trick her, but there was nothing. Her doubts seemed to be settled as she lead the way. It took her a moment to figure out where she was exactly in the city, luckily much of Corellia remained the same and she was feeling pretty good about herself at the moment but as she continued to walk, her steps eventually slowed. She was going to the mall...and as she looked down at herself, she decided it was not a good idea. She had one shoe, and smelled like Hutt slime, people would be looking at her and judging.

Lyra turned to her pointed-ear pocketbook, "Hey, hey!" she patted Emryc's cheek gently, believing it would break her hypnotic spell over him, "Hey, I can't go to the mall, people are going to be looking at me and I smell, and I can't do this, what if I lose it again because you think I'm worthless? I feel so freakish and I am looking the part![/color" she stepped back looking down at herself to make a point and then back at Emryc, her eyes begging for him to just agree with her.

Emryc found her whirlwind of emotions to be curious. He thought he had seen Sith lose control, but this was on a whole new level. He had only grown up with other Sith, and they had been taught to temper and leverage emotions in a controlled manner. As she began to slap along the side of his face, he gently grasped her wrist, slowly peeling it away from him.

“They will focus more on the guy walking next to you,” He said with a grin. It was true – he certainly didn’t look like the average Corellian. He could sense she lacked confidence entirely and had spent her life being invisible. Emryc, however, had no problems in that department. He was used to being desired and being the commanding presence in any scenario.

He stuffed his hands into his pockets and began to start walking again, seeing a massive and well-lit building ahead titled North CoroNet Mall.

“Would be a real shame to go several days without new shoes or clothes,” He seemingly muttered to himself as he kept walking.

He came out of trance and grasped her wrist to make her stop, informing her that they would not be focused on her as their attention would be on him. Lyra did not share his grin and frowned instead; her teen brain was looking for an angle to argue, but she resisted. He was right, there was certainly and exotic and suave presence and appearance about him and all she could do for the moment was hope he was correct.

Emryc started his stroll once more and Lyra stood for a moment, still trying to decide if the risk of being possibly seen was going to be worth the new boots. Though, taunting her with new clothes too seemed to drive her decision as she quickly caught up with Emryc. She looked up at the glowing building as they neared; her heart pounding a little faster in anticipation to not only being in a mall again and do normal things, but also how many people are going to look at her one booted foot. She begun to wonder if she could trick all those who did take notice into believing she looked just fine.

"With the Force, can I make everyone not see me?" she asked while walking beside Emryc; she glanced up at him to see his reaction as they entered. Lyra found herself needing to pause as she observed the multifloored structure and the variety of shops; at the moment she wasn't entirely too concerned about her question being answered as her gaze fell onto other teens hanging out in the commons area. They were certainly having a care-free time and she felt a twist of wanting in her gut; it took all the willpower she could muster to turn her attention from it.

"So...which store?" she asked him watching some girls pass by and taking notice of Emryc.

Emryc walked into the ‘mall’ and was visibly surprised. There were stores everywhere and countless people milling about. He had never seen anything like it before - and everything was in one place. He took it all in, silver eyes scanning all around to identify all the different points of interests. He almost forgot about the girl for a moment, picking up the pace as he began to look around.

His attitude didn’t change and he strutted in as if this was just another Saturday. He could sense the tremendous levels of anxiety from the girl, but he wasn’t exactly the comforting type. He caught a couple glances his way and he simply jutted his chin to acknowledge them before he kept walking.

Emryc was about to answer her question when he saw something in the corner of his eye. He picked up the pace to walk towards where a guy was playing a game that hadn’t been released yet on a console station. Emryc casually dipped into the boy’s mind to suggest that he immediately needed to go relieve himself in the nearest bathroom.

The boy was already shuffling away by the time Emryc arrived at the console and quickly grabbed the controller. His eyes lit up as he began to play, holographic images projecting the soldier he was playing to shoot others.
