KATERINE LAVONT

Katerine Lavont, known to most as simply Kate, was the female Twi'lek proprietor of the Bar-Bar Drinks cantina and gambling house on Mos Eisley. A spice-runner for the Pyke Syndicate, foreseeing the demise of the Syndicate after the fall of Kessel, she pulled out as many assets as she could and purchased the Bar-Bar Drinks cantina to set up her own operation on Tatooine.

With the spice lanes running dry after the fall of Kessel, and the Pyke Syndicate breathing its dying breaths, Kate was left to forge a path for herself with nothing but her ambition, her wits, and a rundown cantina to her name.

BIOGRAPHY

Katerine was born and raised on the Twi'lek homeworld of Ryloth, where she lived till the age of eighteen. Upon completing her education she took a job as a shuttle pilot for a private transportation firm on the planet, ferrying clients too and from nearby planets. It was while working as a freight pilot transporting equipment for the Mon Calamari Shipyards that she got offered the opportunity to ship spice for the Pyke Syndicate. Over the years she continued working with them, running spice for theSyndicate till she was caught transporting a shipment to Kuat, which earned her a minor bounty. Having to stay away from the Core till the hear on her died down, she started operating in the region of space that came to be called the Independent Systems Consortium.

The advent of the AMS virus made life as a courier and spice runner far too dangerous for her liking, the already dwindling strength of the Pyke Syndicate had been making runs less and less profitable as time passed, and the AMS just exacerbated the situation. She started thinking about her future and working on contingency plans in case the Pyke Syndicate met the end everyone saw in its future. That death knell was the ISC invasion of Kessel, which cut off the Syndicate from their primary spice supply, effectively destroying their business model.

But though Kate had no idea how it would come, she had expected this to happen, and she was prepared. She jumped ship, and using what little she could save she bought the Bar-Bar Drinks cantina, a joint she had been a regular to on Mos Eisley, at a steep discount from the widow of its previous owner. Her goal was simple, turn Tatooine into her base of operations, take advantage of her knowledge of the inner workings of the Pyke Syndicate's operations, and take over. Sooner of later she would be the Spice Queen of the Galaxy.

PERSONALITY

Kate is seeking a life more comfortable than the one she was born into. That is the simple yet effective motivation that drives her. She can also have a little bit of a temper, an instance of losing her temper having earned her a bounty in Hutt space.

ABILITIES

Kate is a very skilled pilot, though she has no actual combat experience, having flown exclusively in the civilian and private sector as a shuttle and freight pilot. While she does carry a blaster she has never actually used it, keeping it on her person to scare away any would be trouble-makers during her time as a courier.
