Lance Priam is a non-force sensitive Human male who is the captain of the DECS Pathfinder for the Discovery Exploration Corps during the Force Eternal Era. Lance was born in Coronet City, Corellia. Like a lot of Corellians, Lance wanted to fly and be up with the stars. Lance would eventually become a naval cadet in the New Republic. He learned how to pilot starfighters, he was posted on the carrier the Tempest, then eventually he was given command of the corvette the Challenger.

He would see action here and there, but eventually Lance would resign from the Navy as he became disillusioned and felt like he was stagnating where he was. But it didn't take him long to find a new set of work where he could put his skills to use. Turning to the private sector, the Discovery Exploration Corps was seeking capable leaders for their space expeditions. Even though Lance wasn't a scientist, his previous ship command experience made him a good fit. It also paid good as well. The New Republic collapsed not too long after, perhaps he dodged a bullet there.

After spending a little more than five years with the company, Lance would be selected to captain for a lengthy exploratory voyage into the Unknown Regions, specifically going into the unmapped and unexplored areas in the region. To that end he would be the Captain of the DECS Pathfinder, a science cruiser. It would be a big undertaking, as the Unknown Regions is full of dangers in the dark. But it would be an undertaking that Lance would accept.
