Well this sucks. It's not all that surprising given his age but regardless Science-Fiction lost an icon today.

Outdated, but it's worth noting that COPD is one of the leading causes of smoking related deaths. I think it's fitting to therefore post the following:

He also quit smoking over thirty years ago. It just goes to show you there is no good time to begin smoking. What you did to your lungs in your youthful days can and will come back to plague you in your later life.
