It was refreshing for Megeshi to hear such a viewpoint, and she smiled softly upon hearing Yvain's support for her opinions. Though she was certainly not timid, she had often tried to shy away from such philosophical debates during her time as a Knight. It had been known for some of her peers to disagree (sometimes quite strongly) with her stance on the Order and its responsibilities. It was clear to Megeshi that Yvain's age and experience had provided to his wisdom greatly, and his first-hand accounts of times now long-gone gave him a uniquely perceptive point of view, something Megeshi respected strongly.

Turning to face Yvain directly, she stared once more as she thought for a moment, before replying.

"I suppose... the Council. After all, no one person can claim to be completely morally correct. Our Council was established to deliberate our most pressing issues, no? Then I think we should utilize it as such. From there, we can entrust the Council to decide our position. But as I said before, a neutral position should be sought after in situations where no one side can be decided as overtly harmful to the galaxy, or the safety of its people."

Megeshi pondered for a moment and stared out to the crowds of Coruscant, leaning harder onto the support to her right. She was slowly becoming a bit more at ease with her surroundings as the possibility of an outside threat diminished. Perhaps in her head, at least. After all, she may have lost the element of surprise, but a fellow Jedi to fight by her side was protection enough, and she was sure that Sace wasn't completely hopeless in combat, either.

If it had to come to that.

Hmmm, police the galaxy?...no. Megeshi brought up a good point, however not quite exactly what the young Jedi had in mind. Rather, he felt that the major conflicts, the ones that could turn into war, whether that be civil or inter-planetary, should be ones resolved by the Jedi. And if those resolutions cannot be adhered to by the a few standalones, or those not in the majority, than enforcement would be necessary.

Yvain added on. They were right. The Jedi could not police the galaxy, especially with their numbers so few, though that is why the Sector Rangers are around. They are the ones to uphold law and order within the confounding rules set forth by the galactic senate. They are the ones who should have open communication with the Jedi, should special issues arise.

"I agree Megeshi...the Jedi Council should be the onesss who make the decision. Sssurely their wisdom can trump that even of the sssenate. And I underssstand. The Jedi cannot police the galaxy, however a direct line of contact ssshould be made with the Sssector Rangers and problems that may arise that are above their meaning. We mussst be separate from the Republic, but used by them to end potential ssserious threat that could ssspread disssent. all it takesss is one bad decision for the galaxy to turn itsss back on the Jedi, and compare it to their faults of the passst...leading to another Jedi manhunt."

Sace was no historian, though his father hated the Jedi enough to constantly bring yup their dark past every time they made the news. And often enough to be instilled upon the young Sluissi.

They both spoke well and did not jump to any conclusions about his thoughts and actions which was refreshing, there was often to much blind trust in both the Jedi and the Republic, questions always should be asked otherwise tyranny can easily be allowed in. "So my two returning questions to your comments Sace and Megeshi are this, firstly if we are to give all power to the Council how are we to stop them from becoming complacent or self serving. If the Council is only elected by other council members then surely they will only invite people of their own ideals? Secondly Sace you say we are to be used by the republic for serious issues, but what if the Republic is in the wrong for said issue."

Yvain was one of those characters who often talked with his hands, some people found it annoying even though the Jedi Knight himself did not even realise half the time he was doing. "What if the Republic sanction a planet for doing something that they do not agree on. Even though that action is not illegal or immoral it just does not align with the republic. So that planet fights back, starts an insurgency, so we get called in to put it down. Is that right? If we do not know all the details and are just a pawn for the Republic?"

Megeshi was also thoroughly enjoying the conversation, the whole topic being a breath of fresh air and the chance to speak her mind more freely was rare for such a reserved Jedi. She listened intently now as Yvain asked her a returning question, and she thought for a moment yet again, also placing a finger on her chin and staring at the dirtied Coruscant street before speaking out.

“Well, perhaps… the Council should be more democratically elected? So that if the wider Jedi feel that a member is misusing their influence, they can be voted out of their office.”

Megeshi thought for another moment, pondering the implications of such an action. A subconscious response of hers was to rub her fingers together as her eyes moved randomly around the street, focusing on objects for only a second or two before moving to another. Looking as a bystander, it was almost as if she was finding an escape route, though of course this was just force of habit.

“It would definitely be a very bureaucratic decision, but… it’s a new era. Maybe it’s time to update our methods.”

Megeshi smiled shallowly as she finished her sentence, tilting her head as she looked towards her new acquaintances.

The small Jedi Knight brought up many good points. Many points that the Sluissi had never thought about before now, although in truth, he'd never thought about his response to begin with. His views were already being molded by the Jedi, upon his first meeting. He was very open to their beliefs and ways of thinking that he trusted them almost blindly. Trusted that the two he was speaking to even were proper Jedi and not just come Coruscant wack jobs looking to get over on the serpent. No. Sace could feel it within him that they were both teaching him already, teaching him the ways of the Jedi Order.

"Hmmm, you are right...perhaps the Order ssshouldnt work with the Republic, but more as a tool for the galaxy itself. An agreement amongssst all that the Jedi can step in and sssupersede a sssituation, so long as both parties can agree." The Sluissi kept thinking.

"You are right...they can not be placed in a position where they mussst follow the Republicsss orders regardless of moral or ethical value. That would lead into great dissstrust for all Jedi. I agree with Megeshi...its a new age and its a time that the Order got on the sssame page."

Truthfully, a political debate was not an expected topic of conversation upon his first meeting with a fellow Jedi, though it made him broaden his mind and think for more than the surface for such problems, especially ones involving what he'd intended to consume his life.

Though his line of orginal questioning was to take a look inside the Slussi's mind to see if he was a suitable fit for the Jedi Order it also allowed him to see what another member also thought of their structure. He had one final set of questions though this was less to judge Sace's potential for the Order but more to see what the two would say. "You both have good heads upon your shoulders it seems." He began with a smile. "Final question, if you were the Grandmaster and had control over the Order, what would you do with it? Is there any rule you would change, any specific mantra you would follow? I would like to know, and do not worry young Sace I will put your name forward to the Jedi Council to induct you into the Order and have your training begin."

To be completely honest, such as question as the one that the wise old Jedi was proposing had never even crossed Megeshi’s mind. In an instant, images flashed across the Mirialan’s imagination, perhaps delusions of grandeur, perhaps dreams and hopes of a truly peaceful future and an order of harmony. To be Grandmaster was an almost preposterous notion, but not one that the somewhat naïve Jedi did not see as impossible. Although, she would never admit this openly, of course. Megeshi’s eyes lit up as she thought of such an opportunity, but she quickly managed to ground herself back in reality.

“I’ve… never thought about it. Is that strange?” The young Jedi said with a lighthearted grin. It was clear that she was slowly becoming more accustomed and trusting in the two Jedi she was talking to.

“Of course we have current threats, most chiefly the Sith. My top priority would be to deal with them, I think. Getting bogged down by such rules and regulations in a time of emergency would be… silly. That should come after, when galactic peace can be more reliably ensured.” She spoke carefully, trying to keep her ideas level-headed, before turning back to Yvain

“Well, don’t hesitate from adding me as a reference, Yvain. I’m quite interested in seeing how this one’s training will go,” She said, turning to the serpent hopeful, holding her gaze for a short time, perhaps trying to evaluate him.

The questions that came before him were making the Jedi hopeful think. Though they may have been too pointed even for him. Sace was aware of the Jedi, but their inner working could not be more of a mystery, as such their rules and ways of thinking were all but unknown to him.

Sace heard what the other Jedi Knight had to say. He agreed with her yet again. The Sith were the enemy to the Jedi, and if they were to bring peace to the galaxy, their first priority would need to be defeating their largest obstacle. Sace had never met a Sith befort, barely even knew the difference between a Sith and a Jedi other than one was good and the other evil. There was a lot for him to learn in the coming days, though discussions such as these would certainly put him on the right track.

"If I were grandmassster?...Yes, I agree with you. I would have to sssay that our biggessst enemy right now and obssstacle are the sssith. And if we are to further our cause, they would need to be dealth with. Other than that, I am unaware of the rules and codes of conduct for the Order, if I'm honessst."

Sace was happy to hear that his application for the Order would be sent to the Council. He was eager to start his training and learn more of the Force and ways of the Jedi. He would certainly gravitate towards both of these Jedi Knights as his first masters, they clearly could teach the young Sluissi much more than he could already know.

"I am looking forward to learn and become a Jedi. Thisss is sssomething that I have changed my life around for and I wouldnt have it another way!!"

They both gave simple answers but they were expected ones and ones that he could not disagree with. The Sith did need to be dealt with though the way at which it should be arranged was perhaps a conversation for more experienced members of the Order. He gave both the Jedi Knight and new inductee to the Order a smile and a nod. "It has been a pleasure meeting with you both today. I am excited for what the future brings for you both."

Hopping down from the stool under the floor he looked at Megeshi. "Good day to you Knight Megeshi." Turning to the Slussi. "Young Sace, meet me at the East Galactic Starport, it is near the old senate building. I will arrange for your departure from the planet and for you to meet the Order." With that Yvain waddled off into the crowd another day another Jedi recruit, was that eight hundred and sixty three or eight hundred and sixty four?

Megeshi smiled slightly at the display of childlike innocence that Sace displayed with his reply. It was clear that he truly did want to learn, something that any Jedi would admire in a Padawan. Turning to Yvain, Megeshi offered an earnest wave, before yet again crossing her arms as she leant on the pillar next to her and addressing the serpent.

"I wouldn't keep that one waiting, if I were you," she smirked casually, before pushing herself forward, preparing to depart from the street. "If there's anything you need to finish here, I'd do it. Before starting your training, of course."

Megeshi brushed her shoulders off, before pulling up her hood once more.

"I suppose I'll see you around, though, Sace. Take care."

Megeshi saluted the hopeful Sluissi and held her gaze for just a moment longer, before turning and reentering the ever-flowing crowd of Coruscant, blending into her surroundings instantaneously.

Sace smiled as the small green Jedi Knight hobbled away. He could sense the wisdom and fortitude in the man, could see why he was a respected member of the Order. And the same for Megeshi, though clearly less experience compared to Yvain. Sace got lucky...or was it fate? Regardless he got what he was looking for, an opportunity. An opportunity to change his destiny and the way his life was supposed to go. An opportunity to see the galaxy in a new way and to see the galaxy in its entirety.

Sace nodded to Megeshi as well. "Thank you Megeshi...you will be ssseing me!" He exclaimed.

His next stop would be the East galactic starport, though that wouldnt be without his ancestral belongings. Sace would bring his great uncles ship and droid, and Jedi artifacts with him to the Order. He would use them as he could, though he would first need much training in the ways of the Force, and with a lightsaber...a new journey has begun.
