It was obvious that Hrist wasn't liking what she was hearing –not only from the way she frowned lightly but also from the way a sliver of apprehension crept out of her control through the Force. For their part her fathers simply shot the female Marauder interested looks, their multi-colored gazes switching from her to the Acolyte's.

You've grown attached to your pet, dearest?

It wasn't clear which of the two asked the question, but as the frown on Hrist's beautiful face darkened Jacques let out an uproarious laugh. As much as she loved the men who raised her she was feeling increasingly irritated as to how they treated her student. She had tried to keep her calm, even tried to justify the way they behaved and how they... welcomed the young Zabrak. Under any other circumstances she would've shared in their amusement, but one of the twins spoke the truth.

Xeno's reassuring gaze did little to appease the Marauder. More so the fact that one of her fathers casually asked her about being attached to the Acolyte.

Her student admittedly had his own uses, something Hrist knew when to exploit, but he had also been one of the very few people she had began to trust with her awful past. Despite not sharing what he felt for her, there was a fondness with which Hrist regarded Xeno – he was the first student she had decided to take under her wing, after all.

He is not a pet, she corrected sternly, earning more and more amused looks from the twins. Her own annoyance increasing, Hrist grabbed Xeno by the hand and would begin to lead him out of the garden and away from her fathers' unwelcoming behavior.

She was throwing a tantrum, and knew very well that she would be punished for it later. But her fathers also taught her to stand up for herself and her choices, and them continuing to mock her precious student irked her. Mocking Xeno was akin to mocking her decision of takinh him in and it angered her.

The Aufreisser Twins' amused laughter rang clear out in the garden and through the Force, haunting both Master and apprentice as Hrist led Xeno back inside the estate, passing by a confused Montague.

Stopping by the hall and in front of a painting of Hrist herself, the Marauder finally began to address her student in an angry tone. He would feel that the negative emotion wasn't directed at him, but to the two men they left at their leisure in the garden.

"They will not be rude to you again," she told Xeno, still infuriated. "I will make sure of that. You are allowed to come and go here as you please, and even if they own this place they can never do anything against it."

Hrist rarely ever got mad for someone else's sake, having been taught that her fathers' and her own reputation and safety came first. She wasn't aware of what she was doing and feeling yet, but it was a start.

"...but I cannot disobey their current command. It's..." she let go of his hand, brushing her fingers through her red hair. "...what do other people call it... yes... It's infuriating that they would not let me go with you. But hear and heed your Master's orders now, my dear student."

A dainty hand would find Xeno's cheek, thumb brushing against his cheek as Hrist locked gazes with the Acolyte.

"You will come back to me, alive and whole. Death and life-threatening injuries are unacceptable. You will go to Taris and return to me. I don't care how many you will kill. You will return to me, no matter what, and when you do make sure that you are no longer bound as an Acolyte."

A smile crossed Hrist's face, darkening her gaze.

"You will return stronger. You will return a Marauder, Xeno Brogroo. Consider this my final command to you as your Master."

With that she would press her lips lightly on his cheek, mere inches from his own mouth, and pulled away. Any advances from the Acolyte would be gently rejected, a testament that the Marauder was only capable of giving out affection and not receiving them for the nearest future.

After his answer things between Hrist and her father's were getting heated, at least for Hrist. She clearly didn't like the way Xeno was being treated from her fathers and he didn't like it either. She grabbed her apprentice and stormed to the halls. She was quick. Where was she taking him? Xeno wasn't complaining, he was happy to get away from the men who raised this beautiful woman. As he had been walked away from her fathers, he would leave them with a dirty look.

Once they made it into the halls of the estate he wanted to ask her what was wrong but instead he would stay silent enjoy how his master was wanting him to be with her when she left them behind. Stopping at a painting of Hrist, Xeno wanted to appreciate the beauty of the painting but he had the real person in front of him. That was a million times better.

She was speaking of never having to worry about them treating him badly again. She was telling him he is always welcome. This was music to his ears. Being able to come see this beautiful woman any time he wants, it was just perfect. Snge was also sayign that she must let the orders stand. She was looking for the word to say to explain the way it felt and Xeno would help her out,

"Infuriating"

She continued to speak of him coming back from Taris. Was she worried? Was this her actually caring for him? So much to unpack from this, but he was agreeing that he would in fact return. Nothing in this galaxy aside from power would steer this acolyte from his master.. from his love.

"Yes master, I promise."

Her touch was enough to melt him, and she was quite attractive when she's angry. The kiss to his cheek just topped it all off. The crazy urge to hold her closer and embrace the kiss that he was dreaming of was the only thing on his mind. She then pulled away and was now in front of him. Should he go for it? It was hard situation but, he decided to let her have the time to make the move she wants.

Ah, Xeno Brogroo. With such strength and potential coursing through his veins he was always eager to please, and it made him all the more dearer to his Master. The anger in Hrist's face melted to give way to a doting smile, and she couldn't help the childish snetiment of lifting one hand and poking the Acolyte lightly on the cheek.

"Keep your word, my dear Xeno," she said, taking another step backwards, another step away from him. Under her calculating gaze she studied him, keeping in mind not to invade his thoughts like her fathers did. Smile widening a little, Hrist turned around and began to walk away.

"Forgiveness will never find you if you break your word."

As his Master the female Marauder felt that there was a reasonable measure to the demand she asked of him. The Sith looked down on any form of weaknesses, and to Hrist being unable to keep one's word placed high on the list. Loyalty worked differently for them than with those accursed Jedi, and while the young Zabrak had proved his to his Master Hrist would never stop testing him for it. Even if he would return as a Marauder, even if he ascended to becoming a Sith Lord – she would always be there, measuring his loyalty to the Dark Side of the Force (and by extenstion to her) no matter how much he proved it.

If he truly... loved her, he would endure. It was his burden and curse to fall for a woman who knew nothing of the kind of love he offered her. His confession had sealed his fate, even if he was presently unaware. Hrist liked people who were willing to go out of their way to keep her safe and protected. She was taught to use others for her own gain, and while she held a certain level of affection for her very first student he was still someone she would use for her own gain. He had earned her trust, and she'd given it by showing him the past she never freely shared with anyone.

She might not know what love was, but if Xeno was willing to become her sword and shield then he would be rewarded with her care, affection, and loyalty he deserved – and even if love wasn't on the picture (not yet, maybe not ever, but who knew) the Acolyte still held a place in the ruby-eyed woman's black heart.
