Also, if you notice, we don't release the nominees to the public, and you guys aren't privy to our voting and discussion, so we, in theory, could choose whoever the **** we want.

Sounds like communism to me.

no thats facism. communism goverments are far and wide and a council communism would be a goverment composed of most if not all members of a society or in this case the forum. it works if the society is small enough

that is ironically also real democracy

No, in a fascist state there are no elections. In a communist state there are, for show, and that's usually how it goes.

You have a very broad definition of what an "election" is.

Hitler strong-armed his way in to power then immediately said no more elections.

Weimar Germany wasn't a fascist state until after he took control.

I'm very much aware that my parent's political affiliations won't affect me, numbnuts. I'm going to have to suffer their fanatical babblings over a movement that they joined for the wrong reasons.

Just tell them that you don't necessarily agree with all of their political views and that you'd appreciate it if the house became a politically-neutral zone. It's a fair compromise.

Friends of mine are too. They wanted me to boycott CNN with them and I told them I couldn't cause I liked CNN. They weren't pleased.

Boycotting CNN for what? Not spouting crap? Being the most trusted name in news?

Yeah, damn that CNN for being the closest thing to journalism our networks have to offer!

PBS has the best news in the United States for television. No joke.

The best news I've seen on television in any country is Euronews. What they are doing there is top-notch journalism.

I am not kidding. They are 100% neutral on every issue and they actually report important stuff.

Granted, they are not always "entertaining" but it's NEWS, and it's meant to be that way. Pure, unbiased journalism.

I read RIA NOVESTI or China Daily sometimes just for lulz.

EDIT: Actually, Pravda is the most hilarious.

Me too! I also found some stuff on AllAfrica.com which actually defended Mugabe and Ahmadinejad at one point.

Those are funny because they are state-controlled, but in France they are a bunch of leftist newspapers (L'Humanité) that actually hold those views.

It makes my blood boil.

You know guys, it might do you all good to sit down and watch some news sites you disagree with in order to balance out what you are watching. If the news doesn't offend you even a little, it probably isn't very unbiased.

News aren't suppose to offend. Why would anyone be offendeded by unbiased, neutral reporting?
