Anyone else find it endlessly amusing that the SWRP manages to yet again get off topic by turning a political debate into a Trekkie fest?

Star Trek is cool, because they've got the She-hulk. She dies, though. Almost got it on with Kirk.

I will just go ahead and voice my objections to your studies point by point.
First one regarding taxes. I am just going to answer this one with another study which says that "Just 34% think a tax hike should be included in any legislation to raise the debt ceiling." http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub..._2011/55_oppose_tax_hike_in_debt_ceiling_deal
Regarding the second study. "More Americans believe Republicans in Congress, rather than the Obama administration, would be mainly responsible if the two sides cannot agree on a plan to increase the federal debt limit." This does not say that American's would blame the Republicans this says that American's would blame Republicans more than the president. I would point out the president can't vote on the debt limit he can only veto which probably explains these numbers.
Regarding the third study. Of course people will be more confident in the president then in congressman who gets a fraction of the television coverage can you show any examples where the president wasn't impeached that this wasn't true?

Regarding the fourth study. I shan't try to answer this one as I must confess politics bores me and haven't been paying enough attention to it to know whats going on.

As a political science student who has studied public opinion, I can tell you that Rasmussen is very hit and miss a lot of the time. It can have really good polls and then it can have ones that are worded so horribly that it's automatically skewed to the right -- and wording has a HUGE effect on the results of a poll. The Quinnipiac University Poll, however, is widely recognized for its independence, integrity, and results.

As a rule, I'd be inclined to go with Qunnipiac over Rasmussen on any poll.

I don't know what you're saying here. Blaming Republicans more than the president = blaming the Republicans. If more people blame Republicans over Obama, then more people blame Republicans.

Of course people will be more confident in the president then in congressman who gets a fraction of the television coverage can you show any examples where the president wasn't impeached that this wasn't true?

That doesn't counter what I'm saying.

What, there was a speech? I don't watch T.V. anymore, I was always told it turned you into a boob. Looks like it also keeps you informed on political happenings.
