I was curious if anyone from the forum wanted to do a bit of rping outside of forum posts. The option venues I could possibly do would be:

Battlefront 2
Jedi Knight 3
Guild Wars
Steam (Chat)
Republic Commando
TF2 (for comedy)

People rp in steam chat? What happen to roleplaying on the good serious rp servers? I remember the days I served City 18 as a Civil Protection Scientist. My unit was called Gallen and by far we were the terror of the night. Mostly because we kidnapped citizens and put them jail cells. Subjecting them to horrible experiments. Good times. Good times.

Bet your ass I'd be interested in Republic Commando. If it kicks off with a significant amount of people (4+ dedicated posters not including myself) count me in. I love me some Republic Commando action.

S'okay though, because I never really liked in-game roleplaying. I prefer forums. I'm on four or five of them.

As to how I'd support rping on these games: there are many ways.

JKA is more of a rp-able game, as it already supports many models, custom files, and customizable characters.

BF2's Conversion Pack 2.0 makes rping rather simple (Even in KotOR era).]

As to why I didn't suggest HL2 multi - I don't have DM or Garry's Mod 10, so I have to go with TF2. If someone wants to use a multiplayer mod -- feel free.

Lastly -- if you don't like rping in-game or in a chat, then why are you even posting here? Honestly, if you don't want to do it, then you shouldn't post. Post if you actually want to contribute positively! Is this a crazy concept?:bitchez

I would if it was text based. never voice. I Find it difficult enough speaking for my Inquisitor Character, which is always with my Best friends, let alone on the internet with people i've never seen.

I have little to no intention of use of Voice unless it's in TF2. Then, perhaps. Otherwise, nah.

I dont think that I could really rp in a video game situation. Too tempting to just kill everyone. I couldnt even do it on second life effectively D:.

I still don't get how people would RP in Battlefront 2.

Jedi Knight I can see - with clans like JEDI making their own mods specifically for rping, and even just with japlus it's pretty straightforward.

As to not being able to control yourself to kill someone, there are chat rooms you can use that do not come with weapons: Xfire, Steam, the whole shebang.

And as to rping on BF2 -- trust me, a good number of later, more complex, rps depended more on text and less on in-game actions.
