Reed landed his old pursuit ship at the edge of the survey site. The coordinates of which were sent to him by the Governor of Opportunity themselves. According to the contract, survey droids had come into contact with a nest of Hunter Wasps. Mining operations were expected to start in a week, and the bugs needed to be gone by then. If Reed and his partner could do so in a timely fashion, the payment would be make some improvements to the old Lancer.

Having just done a job with him on a slaver world. Reed was aware of Alfie Shepherd, Reed couldn't call him a friend exactly, but they did manage not the kill each other on their last job. Plus the talking statue usually came better prepared then his old troop in the Republic.

Reed had his usual kit but left the rifle on the ship. Instead, he asked the Governor for a tiny advance. With it, Reed got himself a couple of gas grenades and a flame projector. The former wasn't an exterminator by trade, but he was about to learn.

Alfie arrived on time with his normal loadout along with his bomb-filled satchel. Reed was a professional and that wasn't an easy compliment to receive from the Scoundrel. There was still a gang to be made, but Reed didn't seem to be the settling type. Perhaps Alfie would have to be able to offer the Mercenary more if he wanted him to serve under him. Maybe a place as a Cochketh could suffice.

For now, at least, Alfie decided to worry about the extermination order. Opportunity was a strange name to give a planet that almost resembled Tatooine. Names didn't matter too much as long as the credits kept flowing in. Alfred still had a Hutt for a business partner, and that came with difficulties of it's own.

"Reliability is hard to find these days," Alfred started, nodding to Reed. "Let's hope you stay that way- for both our sakes." Their luck hadn't been spent just yet, and the duo were proving to serve well together. Hopefully today, these bugs only proved to be blaster fodder and nothing else.

As the other man approached, Reed could not help but marvel at the fact that even in this warm weather. Alfie was still pale as the Echani with a personality nearly to match. Perhaps even a little colder. It was a tough call. Still, as expected. The slug slave came prepared with a bag-o-boom.

"Uhh...Thanks?" Reed really wasn't sure what to say to that. "You know Al, I've worked with load-lifters more friendly than you. Not as well armed though." Reed tried to quip back. The pair now apparently read to work. Reed led the way to the government shuttle, currently serving as the survey office.

Inside, a Duros scientist was busy rebuilding one of his droids, damaged by the bugs. "Am I to assume you are the team sent by the Governor. Hmm?" He paused to receive and answer. Of which Reed confirmed "Yes. something abut a swarm of wasps ?"

"Finally. I sent word over a week ago. I need these bugs gone damn it." Unlike his partner, the Duros wasn't hard to read. He was visibly pissed. The alien didn't bother to wait a moment longer. Instead, walked down the little ramp lead the two exterminators toward the sealed off shaft of the mine.

There were probably several benefits to being an independent contractor, but there was always lingering doom of job security. With the Hutts, Alfie knew that as long as he delivered, he would be fine. Reed seemed to have no connection of loyalty to anyone but those who would pay him. The Scoundrel could respect that, at least.

"How long has this nest been around?" Alfie questioned. If the miners had stumbled across the hive, then it was probably too big for two people to handle. If that were the case, Opportunity would have to fine opportunity elsewhere to establish a mine. "How many of your men have disappeared?" This would hopefully give Alfred a good idea on how big and dangerous these wasps really were.

Alfie's explosives primarily consisted of gas grenades with a few concussion grenades. He didn't want to risk a big explosion causing the shaft to cave in on the duo. Credits weren't worth much when you were dead.
