~If it wasn't for the chaos still happening around them she would have decked him. Fist to the face, knee to the groin.~ "I'd much rather that you didn't stick around." ~Brooke grumbled under her breath. If he heard, she didn’t care. If he didn’t, she’d just say it to his face when this was all over. The matter of hatchets flying through the air and men on fire was a little more pressing than her need to insult, sadly. Brooke evaluated.~

~ Most importantly, she was fine. No cuts, no scrapes. Systems were at full power and ready to go. Okay. But she definitely was not safe. The Bar itself had been abandoned; and the one side (opposite to where Brooke now was) would be closest to the front door. Excellent. Keeping low, Brooke made sure the coast was clear and then leapt up and over the bar countertop to land in a roll safely behind it. Somehow, miraculously, she was still fine. Still effectively out of sight behind the bar, she dashed to the other end of the bar, and only then did she lift her head just high enough to see the chaos of the room beyond.~

~First of all, her self-proclaimed Savior was having some trouble with a Rodian. Brooke smirked at that. Secondly, the guy-with-the-big-gun-in-the-corner had loaded up and discharged another shot; the section of the bar Brooke was behind now would ensured that if The Dark Man - who had certainly seen better days - evaded she would be at least relatively safe from shrapnel. Lastly, the other force user was still in his odd, shimmering bubble. Brooke kept alert. She wasn't going to dash into the open until the coast was clear - and she absolutely had to see how this was going to end.~

Thair released his bubble of protection as soon as it became apparant that the cloud of gas was not toxic in any way. Calmly he thanked the Force that no one had noticed he'd thrown up a shimmering blue barrier. It was enough that he even carried a lightsaber! Jedi were too self-righteous and Dark-siders were complete zealots at times. The two extremes were always opposed and never at peace with each other. It seemed a waste to Thair, an utter waste.

Backpedaling he retreated to the bar and backrolled over it to the other side where he took cover as a random patron started blindly firing a blaster, though his target was unclear. The bolt deflected by the Jedi seemed to harlessly sail up and destroy a lighting fixture that sent glass raining down harmlessly on an empty booth. "Hey, Padawan be careful! You're naivete is going to turn someone to mulch," he shouted as he unclipped his weapon and looked to the side as a mug suddenly exploded and sent bits of glass and a spray of liquid onto the man. Thair looked away and spotted the same woman once again.

It all seemed to come back to her. "Honestly," he said to her with a dull smile, "your Force presence was not exactly worth dealing with this. I just wanted a nice break but you had to walk in the door and set my radar off like a thermal detonator!" He ignited both ends of his lightsaber and groaned as he went back out.

Thair stood up on top of the counter and directed himself to the blaster-wielding bystander. "Oi, sleemo!" The blaster suddenly aimed at Thair and fired. With the Force as his guide Thair twirled his lightsaber and deflected the bolt, redirecting it back in the man's general direction to spook him. And it worked. Now that Mr. McAsshole was out of the equation he could divert his attention to the cleaver wielding madman.

The Dark Side was obviously present and fueling the Dark Man. It was one thing to tap into the Darkness, another to succumb to it. There was no reason for anything done so far, and though the victim didn't deserve any better, vengeance wasn't exactly the nutcase's right to take. With a glance at Brooke Thair shrugged, "If you want... I can teach you a trick or two. Of course, credits will be necessary."

Shaken by the bullets, as well as the impact, The Dark Man fell to the floor.

No......It.can't....I...

His breath was heavy. His impact created a large thud. He felt a few shocks from the HUD of his visor, followed by more. Immobilized and shaken with a concussion, he fell unconcious. A bit of blood seeped out from his forehead.

ADMIN:

Erik, Dark Man is dead, or, at the absolute least, unconscious with a concussion. Brayden's handguns are large-framed single-stack slugthrowers, which indicates a powerful round like a .45ACP or .50AE. The sheer impact from a round like that would be more than enough to completely incapacitate Dark Man.

Furthermore, after being set on fire, his helmet would be badly damaged if not wholly inoperable. It's very difficult to make fire-proof electronic equipment, and so the heat would have damaged it extensively.

Please edit your last post accordingly.

Stepping closer to the Dark Man's unconscious body, Brayden examined his body quickly along with his A.I. coming up with the fact that he was indeed knocked out for a while. Now here came the decision. Brayden did think about what the Dark Man had said and he might of done the same thing. Was there justice in what he had done? Or was it just pure psychotic rage?

"Probably psychotic rage."

Reaching behind his back, Brayden pulled at the handle of his cortosis-weave short sword, unsheathing it slowly and finally bring it out in his right hand with a wide swing. Examining where the least protected area on the Dark Man's suit was, Brayden knew exactly where to look. Tilting the Dark Man's helmet therefore tilting his chin back, Brayden ran the end gently across his neck, taking in the moment before the kill.

Leaning down onto the blade while holding the end of the grip, Brayden slowly pressed the sharpened end of the blade down on top of the Dark Man's throat which was unlikely to have protection considering his helmet was now flimsy as hell and not providing him the protection he needed. Now Brayden waited to hear his blade puncturing through the skin of his neck and down through his esophagus. Damn fool should of heeded his warning.

At this point, the young Jedi was more concerned of the appearing Rodian gang that was slowly beginning to swarm. He knew if he used the Force to push them, it might drive them back; but at the same time, it could potentially break the wall down and everyone else with it due to his lack of control. In spite of that, he managed to slice a couple of the nearby Rodian`s blasters in half with a single swing before leaping across the cantina. Unfortunately he miscalculated his jump, and crashed right through a table, but still made it to his feet through his momentum.

Blistering in pain, he looked around: The redhead was behind the bar to his right, about 5 feet in the same direction was the other guy in the room with a lightsaber, who was clearly not an enemy at this point, but this lined them both up perfectly with the gang of Rodians who by now had turned to see his leap, and took aim. There weren`t much more than 8 of them standing, but at least 6 of them were still armed with blasters.

lovely...Taoré thought before turning look briefly at the redhead right in the eye, who was in earshot.

"What exactly did you say to piss these Snivgolds off?!" he said before turning to face the threat clearly iminent.

At this point, the Dark Man was clearly an afterthought, as there was a gang of bloodthirsty Rodian ready to cook roasted human on the grill tonight by a new method called Blaster Bolt Inception.

~Brooke returned Thair’s dull smile with her own smirk, and laughed outright at his comment. But –wait, what? Force presence? The youth didn’t have the time or presence of mind to grasp what he meant – nor did she want to – and as his double-sided lightsaber ignited, her eyes went wide. Force presence. Surely he was just flirting. Force presence? No. Brooke despised Jedi and Dark Jedi alike. Despised the force. She didn’t need ‘special powers’ to survive, all she needed was quick feet and a sharp mind. Teach her a trick or two? What did that mean? Surely he didn’t think…she could use the Force? No. Never.~

“I have quite a repertoire of my own tricks, but thanks for the offer.” ~It would be obvious that Brooke hadn’t added 2 and 2 together yet – or that she simply didn’t want to make the connection. A crunch of glass and loud thump turned Brooke’s attention to the moment.~

~Apparently, one of the Rodians had the same idea Brooke had – but he hadn’t been quite so acrobatic about it. He had landed on the other side of the bar amidst broken glass and was just now getting to his feet. He saw Brooke. Brooke saw him. His blaster had skittered across the floor in his fall, it was by Brooke’s foot. She kicked the weapon behind her as she rose to a fighting stance. The Rodian came at her, hands up. Brooke launched a crescent kick at his wrists with her front leg. The poor alien clearly hadn’t expected her to launch any sort of coherent assault, and so her kick connected. As his hands were down Brooke threw a powerful front kick at the Rodian’s chest. Still off-guard, he crashed into the ground with the audible crunch of bone – his sternum breaking. Brooke picked up the fallen blaster – lest he get back up when she wasn’t looking – and aimed it at the fallen Rodian. No. She couldn’t. He wouldn’t be getting up anytime soon, anyways. She lowered the gun and tucked it into her belt.~

~Brooke turned back to the scene outside of the bar just in time to see Brayden standing over the Dark Man, sword to his throat. Brooke had never seen someone murdered before. Not in front of her. When her back was turned? As she sprinted down the back alley? Sure. Brooke had left plenty to fend for themselves; knowing that it meant the worst…but now she was standing here, watching this man kill. Was she going to do anything about it? No – the Dark Man had killed himself; was a danger, a threat. And she had no reason, no need, no want to stop Brayden. But still…Brooke dropped back below that bar as the Rodians fired another spurt of blaster bolts. But not before she saw Mister Jedi catch her eye.~

“Whatever I did, it certainly wasn’t enough to warrant this!”

Thair chuckled as he began twirling his lightsaber in short motions. The two silver blades hummed quietly as they cut through the air, set to deflect more blaster bolts. Already there were several Rodians inside the Outlander Club. They had poured in while the civilians were fleeing the now incapacitated Dark Man. The gunslinger had him at his mercy now, and Thair couldn't use the Force to stop him, not after having exhausted his power by holding the bubble over such a large group of people.

But now he was free to move, guided by the Force! Thair continued rotating his lightsaber as he cartwheeled off of the counter and engaged two vibro-sword wielding Rodians who had broken from their group. Both cursed in his general direction and that was enough to make them threats. Especially to a man who couldn't understand their language. As one the two attacked, their weapons clashing with Thair's silver blades as he maneuvered them to block with a sweeping swing. He carried his momentum into a full spin, crouching as he came to face the Rodians, and with a quick spin of his weapon he disarmed his enemies. Or... de-handed them would be the best way to describe it.

"I think my tricks would simply amplify yours." he answered with a sly smirk at the woman, shouting to be heard over the two screaming Rodians in front of him.

Easing his sword down inside his neck the Dark Man awoken to a blade cutting off his air way and slowly puncturing outwards into the back of his neck. For a brief moment he attempt to grab at Brayden's face, grappling for hope that was long gone. With one quick jerk and twist of the blade the Dark Man's arms had fallen back onto the floor and had gone limp. His sick form of justice was at an end. Dislodging his sword from his throat, Brayden examined all the blood that had covered it. Taking his fingers and squeezing the blade in between then, he slid them across and wiped away whatever excess blood was still clinging to it.

"Nothing is simple, I suppose."

Brayden's trandoshan friend had hit the road moments ago when trouble had started and the weapons began to fire off. He was a retired man and getting back into trouble was certainly not going to help out his family in the long run. Perhaps it was for the best considering now that Rodian thugs were filling up the club as if it were their mating season. Brayden just figured their species did something like that. But just as he was getting ready to head out the back door in which was free to exit through, he noticed the girl in which the Dark Man had been creeping around. Unknowing if she had watched the whole thing, Brayden sighed to himself as the blaster bolts were flying about in the club. Snapping a shot of her face, Brayden kept it in case anything occured later on.

He dreaded the thought of ruining her life some how and had the resources to make up for it in the long run. Brayden did the same as they turned their back ever so often, just in case. Stepping over behind the bar, Brayden casually walked over to where the red headed girl had slumped down. Kneeling next to her, examining slowly to see if she was actually cut out for such a situation, Brayden came to the conclusion that she was like the friends he had lost. They grew up in the same manner and it certainly began to rip a whole in his stomach just thinking about them.

"Listen kid, you can stay around here if you like but this is none of business. Take my card and think about a new line of work."

With that, Brayden unzipped one of the fillers across his chest and pulled out a small, rectangular card that felt like steel but light as a feather. At first glance there was nothing to be seen but soon the card would flash up with holographic lettering to spell out "B.H.G."! Brayden then stood back up, once again ignoring all of the gun fire that was focused on the two force sensitives. Walking on out of the back, Brayden took his time in strolling out of the alley way in case the young woman decided to join him. It was all up to her and he would not have his feelings hurt if she chose not to.

(Hopefully I got everyone's positions right inside the club)

((OOC: She was kinda not all that far from the rest us and we're all about a few feet from each other, so whatever you said we've all heard, and walking to her would've put you in the line of fire))

Taoré turned and saw the armored man who apparently killed the Dark Man.

Trouble? Doesn't look like it. he thought to himself. But it was clear to him that everyone was after the girl. He was trying to merely get her out of there unharmed; the Gray Jedi wanted to train him (and he did admit to sensing her strong pull in the Force); and now this seemingly Bounty Hunter ((OOC: Observation only!)) wanted her to work for him?! He hoped this was worth him missing a few days before heading off to Tython.

He turned to the Gray Jedi.

"If you're done flirting, we need a plan. There's now a dozen of these mooks, and we're a tad outgunned." He said, before a blaster bolt he deflected reflected off a heater, which caused the steam to knock down the stray. The Rodian wasn't dead, but disabled

"Make that 11." He said.

He then rolled through to deflect a blaster bolt that was going straight for the girl.

"First off, do you have a name, or did that get left out when whoever raised you gave you a mouth?" He said, deflecting another bolt. Hopefully the Gray Jedi would mount a close range offensive, which would allow the attention to take on him and allow him to take them out when they weren't looking (thanks to his speed).

"And second, any idea why it seems EVERYONE is interested in you? What'd you do, offer free blowjobs?!"He added, clearly surpressing a chuckle, but his words had tons of acid in them.

“I won’t deny that!” ~Brooke said as the barrage of blaster bolts Brooke was experiencing ended when Thair started twirling his lightsaber. Brooke would have to be a fool not to be at least impressed. Just because she harbored a strong dislike for all force users didn’t mean she couldn’t admit that they had skills. While she was watching, another pair of Rodians noticed Brooke. Recognized Brooke. Not good. Really not good. They leapt into the bar – much neater than their friend had, and simply looked at her. She could see the blasters at their waists; but apparently they wanted to deliver their punishment personally. Joy of joys.~

~ One punched for her face. Brooke pivoted and grabbed the Rodian’s arm as he punched, placing her hands so she locked his elbow joint and then threw him into his companion, who let out a string of curses as his fellow stumbled into him. Brooke continued the circular motion of her throw with a low roundhouse kick aimed at the back of the first Rodian’s knee. He went down facefirst as it connected, clutching the knee in question in agony. The second Rodian was moving now; jumping over his fallen comrade while launching a kick at Brooke’s head. She stumbled back amid the broken glass and wet floor of the bar, avoiding his kick by inches. But now she was off-balance, and the Rodian pressed her. He scooted in close and drove his fist into Brooke’s stomach. For a moment, Brooke was disappointed; he really wasn’t all that strong. She could barely even feel his knuckles driving into the conditioned muscle of her abdomen. Huh.~

~Brooke drove her knee up, fast, into the Rodian’s groin. He had clearly been expecting Brooke to faint when he punched her, and did nothing whatsoever to block her knee. Now he was the one stumbling backwards, and Brooke threw her back leg into a roundhouse kick again, this time for this Rodian’s head. It connected, but Brooke kept moving, rotating into a back kick that slammed into his chest. The second Rodian crumbled like a sack of potatoes, and actually fell onto his comrade. Phew. Brooke slumped against the bar again, Keeping a weary eye on the attackers she had rendered unconscious. When Brayden knelt beside her, Brooke didn’t have the presence of mind to be cheeky. She rose an eyebrow at the strange, armored man as he examined her, but said nothing. She took the card he offered, watched as he stood up.~

“I’ll keep your offer in mind, but I can’t run quite yet…it’s just getting fun.” ~She flashed a dark smile at the armored man as he left. She didn’t know quite what to make of him; but he had treated her, like, well sort of like an equal. Not a lesser; not someone to be saved, and that gave him brownie points.~

“I wouldn’t give you the time of day, let alone my name Jedi ” ~Brooke said, responding to Taore. She snarled the last word as if venom dripped from it. She was behind the bar, listening to the battle beyond, waiting to see if more Rodians would try to attack her where she was. “Hah! So what if I did offer? You Jealous?”

"Ya know, that ain't a thing I'd want to know about, kids," shouted Thair as he leapt back and pushed out with the Force towards the disarmed Rodians. The two let off a slew of curses as they were hurtled a dozen feet back, slamming into the wall at the back of the club. Their unconscious forms crumpled on the ground as they landed with two dull thuds. Thair pressed himself against the bar once more and rolled backwards over it onto his feet to avoid a series of blaster bolts.

Ducking behind cover once more he watched as the woman dealt with two of the thugs, sending both his way as they piled on each other. Thair dove over them and rolled upon landing and crouched. He gave a polite nod to the armored man as he left the building, taking it as his own cue to become scarce. With a shwoomp both blades of his lightsaber retracted into the hilt. "Well, miss solicits-to-reptiles, I'll see you again. Maybe. Depends. I don't really care if it doesn't happen. But if you want to learn some new tactics, just find me. Through the Force. Avoid the Jedi, their Dogmatic view leaves little room for full freedom."

And with that Thair pulled the Force around himself, using it to bend light and render him invisible to the eye. He didn't make an attempt to hide his footsteps, but he kept low and followed the length of the bar until he reached the end and came around the corner. Standing up, Thair took off in a dead run, hopping over the Dark Man's corpse and vaulting over a set of tables noisly as he made a break for the exit.

After reluctantly cutting through the stomach of a nearby Rodian, he rolled over the bar to get out of the line of fire. Unfortunately that put him a few feet from the redhead.

"Jealous? Of you? I'd probably be less likely to catch something from a Hutt than you!" He said, now laughing. Even to her, it was clear he was extremely amused at her trying to insult him. He grew up in the streets, he knew her type.

His voice caught a Rodian's attention, who peered over the bar, but got his blaster, along with his hand, forcibly removed from him. Now he knew what to do, but he had to get her near him so he wouldn't accidently kill her.

"Looks like we should follow their example and bail." He said, before getting closer to her. He motioned her behind him, and before she could protest, he growled out

"Unless you'd rather die in a very unpleasant way." He added.

Figuring it be one second before she moved anyways (and he knew she would) He channeled his Force energy, which felt to everyone in the room, like all the air getting sucked out, before unleashing it in a forward motion, causing all the Rodians (the only ones left in the bar), as well as the entire opposite wall of the Cantina to shatter and crumble under the sheer power.

After surveying the damage he did to the place, he began to berate himself in his head. He knew he couldn't control how hard he pushed things through the Force, but all this damage was enough he doubted even the Cantina's insurance could cover. He sheathed his lightsaber after he walked out from behind the bar, seeing at his glance how every Rodian was either knocked out, or dead. He had hoped for the former, but seeing one impaled upon some destroyed debris, didn't raise his spirits very much.

~Just find me. Through the Force he had said. As if it was commonplace. As if she could use the force. No. It wasn't possible; she wouldn't let it be. He had to be pulling her arm, joking around. But why would he? Why go to all that trouble...NO. She wouldn't believe it. Refused. 2 + 2 would equal 5 until she decided otherwise. Which she wouldn't. Brooke almost didn't hear Taore's comments. When she did, it was as if from far away; but they finally brought her back to the moment. She laughed. It was funny, really, that he thought he knew how to piss her off. As if. Let him think he won this round. Pride goeth before the fall.~

"I was just about to suggest the same thing."

~She moved as he motioned; not because he told her too, but because she had seen the destruction of the force before, and didn't care to be at the receiving end in this situation. Brooke ducked and covered her ears at the explosive push, waiting a few moments for the dust to settle before getting back to her feet. She took a deep breath, slowing her heart rate as she surveyed the damage. Brooke simply watched as he looked at the bodies of the Rodians that now littered the Cantina.~

"If you can't handle the results of your power, probably don't use it."

~Brooke walked out from behind the bar, and simply looked at what had used to be a wall. Well, at least there were plenty of exits now.~

"It's been grand, but I'm sure you have a planet to go save, and I'm sure your lovely authorities are on their way by now. So, I bid you adieu, oh Grand Jedi and Savior of all free peoples. Try not to trip on your ego when you walk out."

~Brooke smirked, winked (just because) and then strode casually towards where the back door would have been, had there been a wall still standing around it, and would continue to walk out into the alleyway if unhindered.~

As he watched her leave, he smirked. They would meet again. The Force had a real sense of humor with that... as did he. Denial. He sensed it in her. Did she not know she was Force Sensitive? He wondered: He did however overhear what the Gray Jedi had been saying and knew that much. She was probably thinking also that he hadn't got under her skin, but the fact she recoiled as much as he felt her do to his words told the story. He took little satisfaction in that, in spite of him being good at it.

He heard sirens and made himself scare, disappearing in a blur. To the untrained eye, he was a blur of motion. Sure, he was a Jedi apprentice, but one without a master, and there was no way he'd be able to worm his way out of this one.

As he raced across the various rooftops, til dropping down several blocks away, vanishing into the crowd, he began to think of the redhead again.

She didn't even give a name. How rude. He thought with a chuckle in his head. After checking his chrono, he figured it safe to check in, knowing the Jedi Temple had set him a room until the ship to Tython took him tomorrow. He pulled out a strange looking device that began to blip as he got closer to the Temple, but was still several miles away. He looked at it.

Surprise, surprise. He thought before getting off the Transit speeder, spotting the redhead in a crowd. Racing up a rooftop, he kept a measured distance until he watched her go down an alleyway.

Once he figured it safe, he dropped in.

"Amusing: You claim to despise Jedi, yet here we stand not a half dozen blocks away from an environment crawling with them. Now either you have some sick sub-conscious mental instability, or that Gray Jedi left a deeper impression than I thought." He said before extending his hand.

"Taoré Timarick." He said, figuring it smart to introduce himself "And for the record, I'm NOT a Jedi; not in any official capacity yet, anyways." He added, though it sounded like he was talking to himself more than to her.

~Brooke grinned when she heard the Jedi's voice behind her. Oh, he was not intelligent. Not at all. Brooke turned around to face him, and started walking. Kept walking towards him, until he was a step from arm's reach. Right as he said his name, Brooke stepped, and threw her fist hard and fast for Taore's stomach with all of her considerable strength and speed.~

Unfortunately, he was faster. Too fast. He caught her arm, and pushed her sideways. He really hated it when people hit him.

"Cute..." He muttered. But he was annoyed. He didn't want to hurt her. It was then he added that he wasn't a Jedi, not in a full capacity, before she could react.

"You wish you were," ~Brooke taunted, in response to the cute jibe. She was a little miffed that he had blocked her; but, all and all, it was to be expected. He was a J- oh, no, sorry, Jedi-In-Training, after all.~

"I fail to see why or how your name, future plans, or presence here in this alley have absolutely any worth to me. I also fail to see how my business is any of yours."

~She took a step away from Taore, and crossed her arms over her chest, a slightly bemused, overall dismissive look on her face.~

He laughed at her retort, but he shrugged, but it was not a shrug of "I don't know" and that was in the body language, it was sarcastic.

"No, they do not. But it does make you wonder when it took three very different people to get your attention, and a gang of underqualified aliens to want your defiled corpse in their window. And now that the violence has stopped, I could ask you why that is: Why do all these people take such an interest in you? I mean not many could tell you were Force Sensitive, so there's more to this than it appears..." His voice was stern, but it showed concern. After all his time on the streets, he's learned that nobody gets that kind of attention without reason, and that reason usually led to death. He hated how each death that had been caused could've been avoided if someone did something. Plus he wouldn't deny (to himself anyways) of her physical appearence, or her mouth (not many women he tried to help over the years had one)

He felt a sudden flash in the Force, that caused him to twitch slightly. It was a memory of a year back, when he encountered the darkness firsthand, and what it did to people. That experience nearly cost him his life. But why of all places did he feel it now? It didn't matter, at least in this moment.

~Brooke laughed out loud. Quite heartily. This was just hilarious. He actually thought that Brooke hadn't invited the danger? Oh, well she hadn't exactly invited the Dark Man in...but, the Rodians? Whoops. Entirely her. And she had been in tens of situations like the one they had just left before. Provoked, entirely. It was a bit of a sport, really, especially in regards to the Darker sides of the force. No one had killed her outright yet, and that was a testament to, well, something. Brooke wasn't exactly sure what. Her own ingenuity and intelligence, surely. With a helping of luck every once in a while.~

"Oh kid, you have absolutely no idea. Those Rodians? Provoked. By me. I didn't quite expect them to come back in such numbers...but, there are many, many, many humans and aliens alike in this city that would love to see me hanging out to dry, all with good reason." ~Well, to be honest, some with less reason than others. People just got so darn offended these days. It made being a thief and informer hard.~ "So please, don't give me the damsel-in-distress crap. I choose this life, just like you choose yours. And I'm perfectly happy in it. So shoo."

~It was quite convenient that Brooke had avoided all and any mention of the force. But, perhaps by now, not surprising to Taore.~
