Daily Intelligence Brief: Turncoat Jon AKA Menderling Smollet

Wanted for: Piracy, grand theft, theft of government property, murder
Allged crimes: Treason against the Republic

IC: This one's high on the list. His names Menderling Smollet, but he goes by Turncoat Jon (Not that I blame him, Menderling Smollet?). Wanted on several counts of piracy, grand theft, theft of government property, murder. You know, the usual pirate stuff. Used to be a Republic trader but broke bad after several years of failed business. What brought this to my attention was that recent intel suggests that Smollet escaped beyond the outer rim, in "Sith" territory. Now, now, calm down everyone I'm not opening up that can of worms. Regardless of your views on the Sith, this means we have a pirate living in territory of what was once the greatest threat to the Republic. We know that the Sacred Band of Ziost is still active, they're a cult of Sith fanatics left over from before. If they've got Smollet working for them, that means they have a skeleton key to the entire Republic.

@Loco want me to support you in the bombing investigation? Considering how big it is, we should have a few people on this case. Just my opinion.

If not I want the propaganda one. Anyone want to join me?

Ender is backing me up on the bombing, but we do still need someone for the propaganda piece. You could probably use some help from one of thw techier guys too.

There's plenty of work to go around. I don't want to bunch too many of us together in each thread.

Why you not on the BA commander assassinastion. Sure the BA say it is the sith, OOC we know it is the Sith but IC the republic don't even know if the sith are real

This might be worth looking into if someone can dig up some background info.

The pirate is worth keeping tabs on, but I don't think we're in a good position to chase after him yet. Observe and report for the time being.

Like I said in both the opening post and in the concept discussions- this really isn't a missions board, since what we do will rarely fit the mold of a traditional mission on these boards. This is more of just a tracker to keep tabs on what all our people are investigating at any given time. I figure at any one time a ranger may have two or three or more active cases he's working on, so if things start to stall on one he or she can work another case.

This is just where we keep track of things.

Nothing beyond what's in the first post. Troll the boards, find something you think is worth looking into, pitch it here and we'll decide if it's worth our attention.

Now you are both approved as Rangers, you can take on cases whenever you like.
The training thread won't be starting just yet, and it could take weeks to finish. You can do both threads at the same time, no problem.

Just you two could take a case easily, you can do it! ;)

Feel free to post here and get assigned to the case, if you want to. :)

"Individual RangersRangers will be responsible for posting in this thread any new investigations they open, posting updates on their progress, and posting any leads on possible crimes, sources of information, witnesses, etc, for other Rangers to follow up on."

"Once a case is opened I will add it to the list of active cases and assign the Ranger opening it as the "Lead Investigator". After this it will be the responsibility of the Lead to keep things moving along with the case, but any Ranger can contribute to a case or offer assistance by contacting the Lead Investigator."

So you are now Lead Investigator, if you want to open the case?

I would like to do cyber propaganda maybe, it looks pretty open. My character has good street smarts, so he would be good at an undercover mission relating to it maybe? If not that, than candrilla bombing, because those appear to be the only active missions anyway :D

Me and Ender are working the Bombing case and Benny was going to take the Propoganda case, but I don't know if he's gotten anywhere with it and he may need some help- I'd ask him.

You guys are welcome to find new investigations to start as well if you see something interesting on the boards.
