That's not how we solve things around here, buddy.

I'm pretty sure that's against the rules.

The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do, and what a man can't do.

To start: Women are in the military, have been for a wile. Women in combat situations exist, and many have acted up to par with the expectations of any male soldier. It's insulting to say that they are ill suited or prepared once they have entered the military. They are prepared and they are trained.

Female marines will kick your ass, they are trained to kill and the can. I don't see how they couldn't be in combat situations.

The issue surrounding sexual activity: That's already covered. If you get pregnant, you're out. If you're raped, it's treated like a real criminal case- Court Marshall being the only real difference between the systems.

There is no reason that the good discipline of the Military cannot get women that want to into combat.

Yeah, I think we all know that. But I think we're talking about a male only MOS.

Of course they should if they pass all the same testing and training as men. I know of some roles where they have a set of testing requirements for men and a different 'lesser' set for women which is just wrong. If you can't stay swimming for the same amount of time as a man, being female isn't going to save you (unless you had flotation breast-implants!).

As for the 'rape' arguement, if you are dumb enough to even try to rape someone who is trained and strong enough to be in a combat role and who is armed, good luck to you! Raping a civilian is a whole lot different to raping a soldier I would imagine. And having a women in a unit may reduce the level of rapes as the women will just shot the guys raping another women.

I think they should be allowed. If they want, a woman can achieve the same results that a man can, sometimes even better. Though this is just me mostly saying that men and women should just be equal regardless.

Women are not equal, and we must face that fact, we must be treated legally equal but on all other accounts save for any unforseeable exceptions which I wont bother to name, there must be a aknowledgement to the difference and men and women in those respects must be treated differently. Women are different from us for a reason.

That being said, I don't support women being able to join any of the United States' special operations units. Only the best of the best that the military has to offer ever qualify for the SEALs, Green Berets, or Delta Force to name the most well known units. The fact is, those unites require an exceptional aptitude and inherent strength and endurance that I doubt very many women would ever be able to achieve.
Your contradicting yourself. If a woman passes the trials for green berets, SEALs, etc, they can be eligible to be in them aswell, whether or not they will try out is not for me to determine, neither is it for you.

On the subject of sexism, too be frank I believe some of it prevails in the army, past that Im not totally sure nor do I really care, I just want my dang sammiches like Ru. :CStern:

No I'm not. Women can't be part of any of the United States special operations. That is fact. I don't support them being able to join because of the very, very few women who would ever qualify entering in to the units would be a negative, logistically. Also, the risks in bringing women in to the incredibly dangerous roles those units play is much more elevated than having them serve in regular combat roles.

As for regular combat roles, I fully believe women are capable and competent fighters, and the logistics of allowing women to serve in direct combat roles, when compared to the possitives of a deeper combat pool, don't warrant keeping them out of the Armoured, Infantry and other roles.

This.

I think women would be setting themselves up. If they want to, fine, if they pass the training and such then they should be able to serve in combat. However, I don't want to hear about it when something does happen because they know the risks.

You guys forget that one of the most devasting and lethal sniper teams in world war 2 was the Russian, FEMALE, sniper team.

Some had over 100 kills easy.

Also, to deal with rape in the ranks, you change it from a mere criminal charge, to a death sentence.

Stop that undisciplined behavior real fast.

I do think that segregated units would probably be the best option, however. It would allow women to fight if they wanted, and would deepedn the recruiting pool.

More specifically, I think women should be allowed to perform supporting combat roles that rely on skill alone, such as piloting, or command of Naval vessels.

Maybe artillery work, sniping... it's already proven that they're good at that.
