fights in football? pfft the NFL, AFL and NCAA will fine the crap out of a player, or school (ncaa) for so much as sneezing at another player the wrong way. the conduct code is strict as hell.

Hockey is where the fights are " semi-legal"

Baseball has bench clearing brawls that can be amusing..

Basketball has a few spats here and there, but rarely goes beyond shoving, and when it does the NBA is brutal about it.

I didn't mean actual riots. Getting knocked around and bruised pretty much is the game in football. I probably should have put "fights" in quotes...

To clarify, I think football's popular due to the fact that there's a little bit of a violence factor.

(Americans didn't create football. Its routes stem from European rugby and association football (soccer).)

the hits are ..okay.. still nothing close to rugby or hockey. though they get more credit I think because like hockey there is a lot more momentum, but I dare say I think the " big hits" are not nearly as strong of a draw on their own...

A big hit with like a 2 yard Half back run is less noted than the Receiver 40 yards out in the back field who went up and made a one handed finger grab before getting spun like a top before he's back on the pitch. then again if he makes such a grab and nobody is around the roar is just as great just for the joy of knowing how badly the defense misread the formation, and failed to pick up the pattern.

but as I say, you like it or don't and when you don't like it, your gonna look at it completely differently and focus on one thing over another to justify it, just as one would for something they enjoy * shrugs*

and don't worry anyway, the lock out next season looks pretty much like a done deal so nobody will have to worry about it much.

but if it's a speed thing, I suggest some look at arena football, much faster a game.

yup. and some say " why so much damn armour then, ruby players dont need it"

well it was adopted because of the style of contact... Rugby is mostly leg tackles, and dog pile take downs, which was like early football too.... as the sport evolved the hits carried more momentum and led to horrendous brain, head, and neck injuries, and hence the padding was used to minimize this.. even now concussions, and spine injuries still happen even though head to head impact is penalized, sometimes accidents happen

I knew Rodgers was going to bring the Packers to victory, the steelers were very close near the end, but the field goal stopped them from doing so, other than that there was nothing really special except from Rodgers' amazing passes!

NFL is only exciting to me for major events, Madden is immense on the playstation. Football (or soccer) has appealed to me ever since I was little. I used to play for the locals in basketball, but moved closer to the kick boxing side of my life.

Lil Wayne 1 - Wiz Khalifa 0.

Khalifa made a song called Black and Yellow after the Steelers, Wayne made a remix called Green and Yellow after the packers, just in case you had know idea.

Finally, someone defending ol' handegg. Funny it's someone from the isles too, lol

But hits are pretty brutal; for those interested, look up Eric LeGrand. And he was playing college ball

I love the strategy behind it;

Favorite scenarios are when the defense shows blitz, and the offense fails to pick it up completely, there are three wide outs, and all in pretty heavy man coverage, and the quarter back has to be on the move, and at the very last second before he's wrapped up, or being brought down manages to force in a pass to a tight end with a narrow, I mean narrow window ahead of his target..

it's that focus under pressure, and sense of timing and everything that I think makes it really enjoyable. Sure a receiver burning a defensive back in the back field, changing patterns and making that 60 yard gain is epic.. but not nearly as fun as the big pressure moments.

Both being rather shite, at least Lil Wayne doesn't look nearly as big a tool as Khalifa, though.

Football...not only is it one of the most boring sports to watch, I also learned to hate it after almost every one of my classmates made fun of me for disliking it and liking soccer.

My theory: Americans only like football because it's a way for fights to be legalized, and dislike soccer because they didn't invent it.

:CFuu If I wanted to see a legal fight, i would watch boxing or MMA, I like football because its more than just going back and forward or doing the same thing over and over again. But thats fine, most outcast don't like football. Also I like soccer, more specifically "Culo" or ass which is a game down here in peru where if you kick the ball twice in a row or out of bounds you have to be goalie and if they get a certain amount of goals they get to turn you around in the net and each player gets a free kick at your ass. It's not fair to me because some of these Peruvians are deadly accurate.

He was losing it for a bit in the third quarter. The Packers had great momentum in the first half but lost it in the second for awhile. Once they made that first TD of the second half, though, they got their momentum back and he was doing much better.

Lil Wayne still looks like a rather large tool, considering last year he was a die-hard Saints fan...

Oh, they both look like massive tools, but there's one very important difference between them.

Whiz Khalifa looks like a highschooler trying to be 'gangsta' and Lil Wayne looks like someone who'd stab me for looking at him funny.

Lil wayne looks like he's got downs syndrome. To be fair though, retard strength is a frightening thing.
