I read the part where she started talking to the prince but I figured that that came after she asked him the question. Anyways, I misunderstood the situation, my bad. I'll take that out.

Btw, sorry I took a while to post, and if the post seemed kinda rushed. I honestly felt to busy lately to give as much time as I needed to. Which is probably one of the reasons I misunderstood

We'll deal with it man. :)

And also, I'm totally fine with some creative latitude, namely Eofric somehow abusing the Thrudghasts in some way. But what did you have in mind? At the moment, all that's been established so far is that Adric's father was cold and calculating, like Stannis in GoT.

I was kinda just going to leave it open, maybe let you put your input in I your next post. But this is what I imagined:

Basically, the Thrudgasts don't like the notion that they are subservient and inferior to the Baynes. Tiagon mostly assured his people that they and the other houses are equals united for a common goal, which, given the family motto that encourages unity with those of the same goals and namesake, would ease tensions. Hiral doesn't see it that way. He believes the Baynes have forgotten their place as leaders of equals and have instead imposed themselves as superior and overpowering to the other houses. With how isolated they are from the other houses, except maybe the other house a bit down south, they don't benefit as much from the treaty in pretty much any way other than to keep the other houses off of their back. The only thing holding them on board is that the other groups at least treat each other well and share a common purpose.

I imagine that Eofric would have to do something to try and forcefully impose himself on the Thrudgast clan to subjugate them, whether that be through creating taxes on them, trying to micromanage the inner workings of the house or just plain insulting someone and daring them to talk back. Any hint of the overall mentality of "I'm the king, you should do what I want and then thank me for acknowledging your existence" would be extremely offensive, and something Hiral, proud as he is, could never forgive, along with many other citizens. Hiral only sees Adric as an extension of an overall idea shift in Trevast ;that they are lesser, the Baynes are greater. He simply can't tolerate that.

Ah i see. Well that helps me better understand. :) that would likely be something Eofric would do.

Just a sidenote: wouldnt the thrudgasts benefit from trade as well? Smaller taxes for incoming and outgoing goods?

Probably. They are a heavy trade state. I guess it just comes down to cost vs reward for them.

The jimmies are beginning to rustle quite thoroughly in the halls of Heldrayth. I wonder where this shall go:p

Well, you've got a pair of northern giants with knives staring you down, alongside a whole contingent of guards. I recommend you don't make a bad decision.

Hiral would be that a-hole who looks up at the hulking opposition and then yells "Fite me bruh you go dem knives 1 on 1 me noobs lol." Before doing a judo backflip into a sewage shoot and running out the castle door naked and beating people with a big stick.

Honestly, Hiral is such a freaking troll.

Though thankfully he's actually smart enough not to try something that drastic and dumb right now. He'd probably think it over once or twice though

Ed and Ollis will look at each other, raise an eyebrow. Ollis will then go, "After you Vaiken."

"It will be my pleasure Barran."

And then you'll be picking your teeth up from the ground one by one.

Backstory: After the downfall of House Courant, King Desirak in his wisdom decided to settle the former Courant Seat of Summerhall with a Bayne loyalist, many of his vassals petitioned him but in the end he settled with his third son, Prince Alaric Bayne. As a third son Alaric’s chances of coming to the throne were very very slim, but Desirak was loathe to allow anyone of his sons waste away their lives so he granted the last of his sons this opportunity. Unfortunately for Alaric, the shattered walls and broken towers of Summerhall consumed the majority of his time. For Desirak was a harsh man but fair, he did not give Alaric assistance in this undertaking so Alaric was forced to borrow large sums of money. Yet the woes of this house did not end there, with the destruction of Summerhall and the lawlessness that followed, Alaric spent the majority of his early reign crushing bandit rings and ensuring the commons remained protected. Yet, many left to either Kaith or the capital leaving the once sprawling and mighty lands of the Courants underpopulated and Alaric wondering how he will survive the first interest payment on the money he borrowed. This vanished once the Boteri invaded and Prince Alaric answered his father’s call to arms. For a time the plunder that he earned helped finance his house and once more things were looking up. Alaric and his descendants followed up this success with careful investments, supporting forges and weavers and other industries that are useful for development and also martial pursuits, supporting merchants and lending houses on top of banks, but they have never been able to turn Summerhall into what it once was to their consternation. Prince Aederic Bayne now looks to restore Summerhall to its former glory and for that, he needs to put his mind to work in expanding the industries and encouraging people to move to his lands. For he is a Bayne and he must act as his ancestors do, by seeing an obstacle and overcoming it (With copious amounts of artillery fire).

Army Composition:

750 Cavalry Men.

250 Outriders

1500 Men at Arms

500 Archers.

(All of these are House Bayne styled units)

Hey, Necris, the only Barran people that came were members of the Lord's immediate family and household specifically. That, and nobody has, as of yet, controlled anybody from another person's house at all yet, and I'd appreciate it if you don't run around controlling my characters without my permission.

So, like, go edit it.

For all, Necris has officially left Tales of Trevast. So his castle location is an npc hold unless another interested party wishes to join.
