Records of a Neti by the name of Fidchell exists in the Old Republic archives. This Neti was born on the planet Empress Teta, born to insignificant parents. The sapling grew a quick obsession with the sciences, particularly biology; non-wooden organisms fascinated the Neti in how its biology differed from its own, and how viral and fungal infections could have different effects and impacts. After graduating from a Tetan university, Fidchell was quickly recruited into a pharmaceutical company. During his time at the company, Fidchell completed multiple illicit and inhumane experiments, some known to the company (for its more illicit market partners) and some hidden from the company itself.

A century later, Fidchell's experiments were uncovered by Jedi investigating a case where all the orphans of a Tetan orphanage were adopted and disappeared. The Jedi tracked the children's trail to an off-the-books facility for this pharmaceutical company, where Fidchell's research was taking place. Fidchell unleashed some of his experiments, but they were no match to the Jedi's Force powers. This had been the first time Fidchell had encountered Force users and the Force, and was fascinated with it. Alas, the Jedi rudely cuffed Fidchell while he was in the middle of asking them a bombardment of questions, and was thrown into Coruscant's Arrth-Eno Prison Complex; investigations into Fidchell's employers later saw the liquidation of the company.

Fidchell's time in the prison was not unproductive. Fidchell was mesmerized by the Force he had witnessed, and sought to study it. This involved befriending Force sensitive inmates in the prison. Decades later, after the fall of the Galactic Empire, declassified documents revealed the prison warden, under the blessing of a cabal of Senators, had sanctioned some experiments in the prison, including inhumane dissections of some of the Force sensitive inmates. The results of the experiments were transferred to other Republic facilities.

Fidchell was reported to have died roughly fifty years before the rise of the Galactic Empire.

Fidchell was recruited and smuggled out of the Arrth-Eno Prison Complex by agents of the Sith Eternal, the original carnation. He was sought for his biological research, particularly on Force users. Unbeknownst to the Republic during his imprisonment, Fidchell's fascination with the Force led him to see if he could harness its power, and discovered his Force sensitivity (he had originally attributed erroneously his sensitivity to life around him as a facet of being a Neti), and began training in using the Force, though not very skilled during his detained years. Though Force sensitive, Fidchell never embodied the true passion of the Sith, and thus never became a true Sith; instead, he would spend decades as one of the scientists and alchemists among the cultists, caring little whether ruled under Plageis or Sidious. He continued to operate under the Sith Eternal even after Sidious' apparent death, and was part of the medical team that kept his new body alive.

Shortly prior to the Battle of Exegol, Fidchell was sent on a mission to Felucia, which resulted in him avoiding the fate of many of the original Sith Eternal cultists. Fidchell and his team remained on Felucia, conducting their experiments. Eventually the reformed Guardians of the Eternal sought out Fidchell, last of the original Sith Eternal alchemists, seeking the ancient alchemical formulae that had once resurrected Darth Sidious. Alas, though Fidchell had been part of the medical team maintaining the new body, he had not been part of the necromantic consortium, and thus did not hold the forgotten secrets of the Sith. Nevertheless, Fidchell's scientific and alchemic prowess was not to be underestimated, and was recruited into the Guardians of the Eternal, being a relic of the old age himself.

Little is known about the origins of the mad scientist of the Guardians of the Eternal. For all intents and purposes, it was if he just appeared one day, and began orchestrating several biological projects. Though one of the longest-lasting members of the Guardians, the Doctor's lack of ambition has led him to remain at the lowest rank (failing to realizing that Warden was more than just a military position, and could increase his capacity for research). To the few in public that know of the Doctor's existence, he is viewed as the Eternal's medical doctor and surgeon. To the Guardians and Legions, he may hold this office, but also the machinator of the unspeakable; multiple Sithspawn have originated under the Doctor's gloves.

At some point, the Doctor returned to the abandoned Felucia laboratory, to salvage any research there, discovering his alchemically-enhanced fungi had mutated over the course of the abandonment. The Doctor was infected, and ordered the facility burned (though samples taken; he's no monster, after all). This infection impacted the Neti greatly. The Neti constructed a bodysuit to aid in the medical treatment to counter the effects of the fungal infection. The Doctor can survive without the suit, but hinders his body's ability to fight the infection.

"The Doctor" was a codename assigned by multiple intelligence agencies that have tried to track down this Neti in the past. The Neti has since adopted this title as a moniker like a badge of honor. The Doctor, in this light, is primarily seen during investigations of the underworld. Due to limited funds with the Sith Eternal, the Doctor has a history of partnering with criminal elements, feeding them drugs and enhancements in order to secure funding for his passion projects.

The Doctor can best be described as an apathetic mad scientist. He values life only in the degree in how it can be manipulated, experimented, and used. He has little qualms using anyone for experiments. The primary reason most Guardians and Legionnaires are not used as test subjects is purely pragmatic, as they are needed to keep his experiments safe, by distracting the galaxy from his projects.

The Doctor is quite knowledgeable of the Sith philosophies and traditions, contributed to his age and exposure, though does not practice them in full. In large, he views the Sith and the Dark Side as the catalyst for change, seeking further perfection through evolution. He himself, while trained in combat (the Doctor is convinced he was forced to train in combat because the Legionnaires just wanted excuses to beat him up because of his less-than-stellar bedside manner), avoids combat where possible, choosing either manipulation or fleeing. The Doctor is not against working with Jedi if it furthers his goals or preserves his life.

Fidchell is a trained medical physician and surgeon, along with specializations in virology and biology; he is not skilled in nanotechnology, viewing the art as a bastardization of true biological research. The Doctor serves as one of the few medical practitioners for the Sith Eternal, though bedside manner is not among his greatest skills; multiple complaints would have been sent to HR about offerings to amputate and experiment on clients if HR existed in the Eternal ("Why get a flu shot when I can give you a flamethrower arm?").

Fidchell's lightsaber combat skills are minutely below average, bested almost by his marksmanship skills (favoring long distance combat to CQC); he has yet to acquire a lightsaber-rifle. Impressively, Fidchell is decently accurate with throwing knives (or scalpels if needed); he has commissioned a colleague to attempt to construct knife-sized mini-lightsabers, yet to be finished. Fidchell's primary mode of combat is through the use of the Force, particularly telekinesis. Though inaccessible in combat, Fidchell's claim to fame with the Force is alchemy.
