but see to me that sounds like fifteen kinds of tedious terribleness and i would want no part of it.

if i wanted to play a game where in game currency was important i'd go play world of warcraft.

Particularly if I wanted to write a character who was, say, postman by day, crime fighter by night: I'd spend more time rping delivering letters than beating up bad guys. Surely we want the other way round.

Of course not. We need to see the PvP match between the Jedi Grandmaster and the lvl 86 Postmaster General.

JEDI GRANDMASTER casts FORCE PUSH

POSTMASTER GENERAL delivers EVICTION NOTICE

Ok so I’m pretty much a non entity on this forum, I joined a month or two ago, but I have been waiting for the next TL before I really get into things. That said, something has been nagging at me since this announcement and I thought I might as well ask even if it ends up being a dumb noobie remark. With that out of the way: how will situations requiring the presence (or at least needing some mention of) a Jedi Master or Council member (assuming there is a Jedi council in this timeline) go down?

I’m asking this in terms of the Jedi, but really it refers to every NPC faction. If everyone is starting on the same powerlevel (in the Jedi’s case that being the rank of ~Jedi Knight), what happens when you need to interact with someone higher up on the totem pole (Which I assume is relatively necessary); especially for the first few months after the new TL release? There won't be any players in those positions certainly, not for awhile at least, so where do you turn?

Will there be some list of example Jedi masters and members of the council that people can use as NPCs in their emotes? Will admins have to run NPC emotes in various threads? Am I just missing something obvious and making myself look like an idiot? Am I continuing to make question marks because I have literally no idea how to finish this comment (Maybe…)?

I think this goes beyond anything that has been released so far, a future announcement will probably make such things clearer. It's a good question, and a perfectly justifiable line of thought to have gone down, but unless I'm missing something as well I think we haven't been told about this and should come to know more soon.

Every member has an equally important voice on the site. Just because you're newer doesn't mean your inquires are less important.

@Wit is correct, @1new6, that such details will be clarified in future announcements.

@Wit and @Dmitri
Thanks for the replies. I guess I will keep my eyes pealed for future announcements :)

Think you missed the point. The only things you'd have to pay for (with credits being reward currency for doing plots) are the larger assets. 99% of the characters that currently roam our forum won't need to keep track of things because they quite frankly aren't amassing assets to start independent factions or whatnot.

And I like the idea of being able to rob other players...

I'm curious, I understand that a Republic Faction seems to always fail, however I was wondering, since the Republic as an entity will still exist as a backdrop in the new TL, could we still have Republic non-faction characters? I imagine they could exist in order to represent a nascent "republic" presence on the boards without the burden of maintaining an actual OOC faction

Yes. This will be used to track XP and levels on a character-by-character basis.
If we only really plan to make once character do we still need to make a sub account ?

Is the site/staff going to keep any of the PC content already made from this TL. Like Species and planets, things like that ?

Anything submitted for this timeline will have to be re-approved next timeline before it can be used. No PC content can be reused directly.

Sounds interesting, and love how this site continues to innovate TL after TL.

For PC organizations. Are there still a required number of PCs needed like the current timelines to start an organization?

"Start" means something different. When you start off, it's going to be you and only you with no resources and no nothing. You'll have to build your way towards being a PC Organization, and along the way convince people to join you through the RP. Once you're an officially approved PC Organization, there will likely be an expected/required number of people to get to that official/approved threshold.

That’s very helpful. Thank you

My attempt to read the plethora of new rules left me overwhelmed. It's probably because of my months of absence. Will you all (admin/staff) post a condensed version of all the new rules?

Please read the announcements to understand the new system just like everyone else is. There will be no condensed version as they'll be baked into the overall rules after all announcements are out. Thanks.
