Oobas Flanth House, Mos Espa, Tatooine.

One of the premier establishments of Tatooine, the Flanth House was where the great and the good tended to avoid. What happened inside was not the sort of thing the high-minded folks of the Galaxy considered savoury, and yet for the residents of the underworld, it was perfection. However, there was one small problem.

It only allowed non-Hutts inside with 'permission' from their owners.

Nor'baal had, of course, neglected to inform his guest, Grace Zann, of this slight technicality as he was carried down the main street of Mos Espa on his litter, a steady drumbeat announcing his arrival. They would have arrived together, heading down from his Palace just outside the City, Nor'baal regaling Grace as to his manifold merits and achievements (some of which actually had happened) as they made the long journey through the heat of Tatooine. Finally, the litter stopped a short way from the Cantina, and Nor'baal spoke to Grace directly.

<Bu tozei babaplee nanu Sae dah Hokaaen. Wata uba caiot boonowa dan bacdop nem, inorganic an kokaheoua, kiukee s pea uba caiot tanee banza see boonowa du bu hee-naa banki kankahnox'a.> he garbled out, not even looking in her direction as he spoke. <Fa doth, see pacmhanaduee, hih kiukapath. Jee dotmay bu Zann Pantahlea doth banka bitmanbettee yabee?> Nor'baal chortled, as his Majordomo flitted about his side, a young Todarian, trying to catch his attention.

"Your immensity, she cannot enter. Only the sla -" it whispered, panic in its voice.

Nor'baal sneered. Of course! The venue allowed only Hutts and their slave's admission. A rumbling laugh erupted from his considerable frame as he realised what this would mean. He decided to say nothing. <Nudd!> the Hutt instructed, as his litter was born toward the vast doors of the building, a heavyset detachment of droids, in front of which stood a gigantic Houk doorman, stepping forward to welcome him. "Your Emminence, your honour is with your patronage. Shall I bring collars for your female?" he asked, looking over at the Zann, as Nor'baal sat back, keen to spy her reaction.

A few days ago she overhead Nor'baal bragging about some sort of auction house on Tatooine. It was where many hutts came to pawn off artifacts and expensive items they no longer had use for. In his explanation of the place, Nor'baal let it slip that one of the older hutts would be trying to auction off a Dathomirian Book of Shadows. It likely belonged to a long dead nightsister clan.

Grace had never informed Nor'baal of her force affinity, as she figured that would only do harm to their relationship. In truth however, she wanted to get her hands on that book. She considered herself neither jedi nor sith, and lacked further training in the force. Future conflict with the jedi and sith would be all but inevitable, and she would need to train for when that time would come. Learning the secrets of the nightsister would be an excellent start...

Grace would walk on foot next to the hutt that was being carried around by a large number of slaves. It was almost comical to watch them all move.

"Well, usually I wouldn't be able to spare such expenses... However, my crew and I pulled off a very lucrative job a few cycles ago." She thought back to poor Zando Zando who she stole two million credits worth of tibanna gas from. Maybe if he hadn't tried to hit her with that hypospammer, then he'd still be around.

The minor crime lord would give the toydarian a confused look as he spoke to Nor'baal. She didn't exactly know what was going on there. Eventually, their group would be met by a door guard. Who asked if she needed to be collared. It was a hutt-only establishment, but she hadn't realized Nor'baal neglected to mention her arrival.

In response she would smirk and simply ask, "That depends. Can slaves place bids?"

Striding alongside Grace, he flanked her on her direct left, it was a incredibly long time since he had a seen a Hutt in the flesh but his knowledge of the Language was good enough to understand what was being spoken about, narrowing his eyebrows ever so slightly at the notions presented by some and then others again.

"You do not need me to translate do you?"

That was answered shortly after she had replied in her own regard, it was curious but at the same time this was a very lucrative endeavor, whilst he knew the... sticky situations one could get into with the Hutts he also knew what they could get their hands on and that in itself alone was sometimes worth the risk.

Placing his hands infront of him in a disciplined and vigilant stride until they came to a brief halt at their destination, he leant his head slightly forwards to give his two cents to Grace, he mayhaps be chosen for Protection but that didn't mean he didn't come with words of his own, atleast when they were necessary.

Taking in their surroundings very carefully he already and always calculated potential exits, routes of confrontation and the likes, being a step ahead can pay off in moments most unexpected but he had confidence that this time around he needed to merely look good next to his Employer.

"Mayhaps not the best idea to get collared."

He then slowly leant back straightening out completely, the fabric of his jacket practically absorbed all light in its dark sheen whilst the top of his head did the exact opposite, the albino like white shone like a beacon whilst his predatorial cimson eyes settled on the Door Guard, it wasn't out of disrespect or in a threatening manner yet at the same time he scrutinized all at all times, trust noone on Tatooine.

With an affronted look on his face, the guard sneered at Grace. "Eminences have been known to use slaves to make bids, yes." the thick-headed creature retorted, as Nor'baal rolled his eyes with exaggerated impatience. He was keen to get inside and start bidding, but he was also just as keen to see this little drama play out. Deciding that the opportunity to spend credits was more enticing, he waved his majordomo over, who fluttered down to the guard a few moments later and passed him a small bundle of credits.

Soon after, the group was waived by without any further talk of shock collars and slavery attire.

"The auction is set to commence soon, my Lord." the Toydarian reminded him, as Nor'baal took in the enormity of the room. It was filled with a few dozen Hutts and their entourages, as well as some well-heeled people who had managed to bribe the guard successfully. Around the room, holo-projectors would display what was currently being auctioned off, whilst on a balcony above them all, a large Hutt holding a comically small auctioneer's hammer held sway.

<Pohii Yih, an kanieh lotka, chobaso bai bu babaplee nanu dee bayan. Cuemhaman noa-a lumpa du bu ahbenoy koneaha, cay dan geeb bai mee bunko don dokwacha- hunto yay. Jeejee dopeha bu kanieh cay ba baueuonu Etruscan donkahesey bohn...> the massive auctioneer started the bidding on lot one, an odd looking vase, as Nor'baal turned his focus to Grace and her accomplice.

<Cheska kaa wata da uba gee mee apiua dah?> keen to find out exactly why Grace had been so insistent on coming to an auction with him.

Meanwhile, the auction moved onto lot two, the vase having sold for a small sum to one of the other Hutts, who looks very pleased with himself. <Tee bapionh jakola, bo da Jee canta gee wa jakola see chalanh. Wa Bacotohoda doi bu datka cohkaha see Toi yikke fen kae. Jee dopeha bu kanieh ree ->

<Mondon.> Nor'baal interrupted the auctioneer, greed plastered on his face, as he dared others in the room to challenge his bid.

Grace would smirk as the door guard explained that they could indeed bid. This was going to be perfect... She would look back to Tyr'din and briefly state, "Everything will be fine, I have a plan." She would then turn back to the guard and explain "Yes. I am a slave of mighty @Nor'baal Desilijic! Feel free to have me properly fitted."

The guard would place the proper slave collar on Grace, making it appear as though she was just another slave at the auction... Despite Nor'baal's bribery, which may have gotten @Tyr'din Selm in without such a device.

As their small group pressed on, they would be met with a large room full of various hutts. One in particular seemed to be heading up the auction and declared that some sort of funeral urn would be the first item on sale. She was unimpressed by the exotic object, and was happy to see it go...

Nor'baal would then ask her if anything caught her eye, and something most certainly did. A Dathomirian Book of Shadows was on the table. acquired by one of the more notable hutts in the room. If she could get her hands on that, then she would be able to finally train herself beyond the jedi's teachings. Not that she could explain all of that to Nor'baal.

"Well, I am a woman who enjoys ancient culture and legends. That book there seems like quite the prize." Something told her that Nor'baal may not have been invested in knowledge the same way she was. As a rancor was brought up for auction and immediately bid on for one hundred thousand credits. Grace admitted that she too would love to have one, but she simply didn't have the space. "My, now that's a real score. If only I had the space..."

She would lean over to Tyr'din and explain quietly, "I need that book to further my training, but if you see something you like, don't hesitate to ask."

As soon as Grace proclaimed herself as a Slave Tyr'din almost turned completely to Nor'baal as if to denote ["Im not getting paid enough for this."] his facial expression spoke a thousand words, it was a dumb idea in his head and if worst came to worst he would have to bail her out which he did not look forwards to.

"I hope you know what you're doing..."

He spoke to Grace leaning forwards just a small moment before leaning back giving a small shake of his head as they continued on inwards, whilst this wasn't Tyr'dins first Auction, it certainly was his first Hutt Auction, he was used to bartering for Parts and especially hard to get ones so he kept an eye out for Legacy Gear both out of Habit and Interest.

"Ill get you one for your Birthday."

He quipped over her shoulder as he followed her gaze to set upon the prize that she had been here for, whilst he had no understanding of why a Book of all things could be so valueable to her which wouldn't be overlong in his mind as Grace seemed to sense his inner monologue as she explained to him why aswell as the offer of asking for anything that caught his eye, which was another prime cheese opportunity one that she just without thinking about walked into once again.

"I don't think you're for sale." He gave back cheesily to her offer before then giving a serious follow up. "Armor would be nice, something solid, all-round. Perhaps Nor'baal would be a good judge of what would look good next to you."

He snickered, he had a few things in mind, but if he really wanted to draw eyes there was only one true way and such was hard to get hands on and not to mention the rightful owners of such Armor wouldn't be too happy with him in posession of it either.

He then turned to Nor'baal and in broken yet understandable Huttese asked him directly, it wouldn't hurt to involve their Host now would it? Especially one so involved in these auctions.

The Hutt sneered as one of his peers outbid him, by a ten-thousand credit margin. Nor'baal raised a pudgy hand, increasing his bid further still as the hubbub of the room swelled around him. <Wa jedha? Jee tee blee uba caiot jau?> he remarked to Grace, somewhat shocked that a non-Hutt, a human no less would be possessed of such talents. He snarled again as he was outbid, this time speaking up and shouting 'two-hundred thousand' in Huttese, slamming his tail on litter as he did so.

Briefly, the room fell silent. Nobody motioned to bid further, and the auctioneer bellowed <Bolla bonee wagan! Siwaee! DWANA!> hastening the final bids on the lot, and ignoring two further back in the room to allow Nor'baal to win. Clearly the Hutt auctioneer did not want to annoy the Daimyo of the world upon which his business could be found.

Smiling with his new purchase, he looked somewhat crestfallen when Grace's slave spoke to him directly in decent Huttese. <Zann woy uba tee bla kava bai pankhai mee chaieya? Hatkocanh uba bacaka mi bai gee hoohah pauie?> he enquired, ignoring the and question, as the auctioneer moved on to the next lot, an exotic suit of very obviously stolen Mandalorian armour.

Grace was not able to speak huttese very well, but she understood what it all meant. She had lived among gangsters in hutt space for years, and was able to pick up a thing or two. She would be a little surprised that Nor'baal didn't realize she could read, was that such an uncommon thing in these parts? "I was educated in the mid-rim when I was a child, yes. I don't think literacy is that uncommon."

Just as she explained this, her hutt friend managed to give the winning bid, two hundred thousand credits for the rancor. It would be around then that Tyr'din asked after her, but said he would settle for a suit of mandalorian armor... That was probably something they could manage. It wasn't as if any of the hutts here could actually wear such a suit of armor.

As her associate brought this up to Nor'baal however, the crime lord would suggest collaring him. Grace would become quite nervous before protesting, "O-of course not mighty Nor'baal. My apologies."

She would then lean over to Tyr'din and whisper "Sorry, Nor'baal is fond of very few people." As she did however, the next item would come on auction. The hutt auctioneer would bring out the suit of armor and would announce "Bapionh, Pehot pea bonee wagan bamohkan bai wa cahwebe murishani! Fa kah wahsonh woy see ciy datpe. Jeejee lwaa dopeha bu kanieh mo ree donocha don keemon dokwacha phabeka."

Grace knew that Tyr'din wanted and deserved the armor. They had the credits to outbid some of the hutts here, they simply had to wait...

"Not my proudest moment..."

He mumbled to himself as he full well understood the great Hutt's response, he always knew his Huttese would get him into trouble one day, and this could be a very close call, but in order to save some face he turned to a more obedient way, afterall Nor'baal wasn't completely wrong, he was merely the entourage of Grace.

"Dont apologize, I stepped out of line. Ill keep my lines for social calls."

He would whisper back before then nodding to Grace, She had the gist of it, though he was still amused that she managed to put up with some of the things he slung her way but then again, that came for free. He just hoped that she wouldn't test him on his remarks one day, that could be a day of interesting events.

Regarding the Hutt with a formal bow of respect he then fully turned back to his employer almost standing shoulder to shoulder, his eyes glinted as soon as the next item came up, and the price in itself sounded decent to him, he pointed the item out for Grace.

"Thats about the Quarter of the pay you offered me for the Trandoshan, so its a start, the rest you'll figure out im sure. Besides this would benefit us both."

He wasnt wrong, whilst Credits were one thing, new Armor would not only protect him, but her in turn too. It was curious that he directly invested his well earning back into his craft it was something not usual for people in the line of his work only few did such but those were questions for different occassions.

"Never seen a Mandalorian in the flesh, only know the stories. And well, if you once wanted to become a Hunter... you will more than likely know atleast two of those stories, if not three."

He then leant down to speak about her prize in this entire Auction because he was equally as curious to discover more, Lightsabers and its direct partner and crime, The Force were something he was almost completely in the dark with aside from the things you get to hear and more often than not they are exaggurated.

"This Training... how does it work?"

<Da doth hih kaa, Jee doth tee bla paupe dee Yih danko cahcateke hee teiai see dobipoba heee hou. Kaa gee cuee paupe uonza du bu dotkenkala roy, Durr bu Yih, mah bankobaii doth wa Yih see chalanh neu.> Nor'baal shook his head. Durr was an eccentric, firstly with his bizarre fascination with sciences, which had led to him creating the AMS virus, and secondly, it would seem, with his liberal approach to the expansion of educational laws.

He turned his attention back onto the auction, which has seen an opening bid of twenty-thousands credits for the Mandalorian armour. A fine trinket for one of the lesser houses perhaps? Nor'baal thought, wondering which of the threadbare Hutts around him would be scrabbling for the trophy.

One of the other Hutts fired up a bid to twenty-five thousand credits, another cutting over them to bring it to thirty thousand. <Wa camiuoy copah Zann, uba caiot bavaka fa che mee sahuaka in ting? Goo hatkocanh ye wanya dan du hee yoieu- bimhee, uba caiot dooo chakaptka bai gee wa Konbouaheon dah mee jesei!> he laughed.

What an idea! Nor'baal chortled. To profess to have a Mandalorian as a pet! Such a luxury! he chuckled away to himself.

Grace didn't have the heart to tell Nor'baal that she wasn't born on a hutt world, but on the other side of the galaxy near Anaxes. She had also been educated by the jedi in literacy, philosophy, and history. She would simply shrug her shoulders as the hutt expressed his disappointment with the hutt before him.

As she returned her focus to the auction, the armor had already gone up in price as a couple hutts took a shot at it. She knew she had the credits to win the armor, but needed to wait for the right moment. Another hutt would raise his hand, before declaring thirty thousand. The auctioneer would be overjoyed by the item going up in price so much, but what happened next would be very unexpected. "Bolla bonee wagan! Siwaee!--"

The woman in a slave collar would shoot her hand up before shouting, "Dokwacha Don keemon dokwacha!" This sent gasps shooting across the room, as the hutts didn't realize whether she was bidding on her own behalf or Nor'baal's. The auctioneer would look flustered for a moment, but quickly return to business. "Bolla bonee wagan! Siwaee! DWANA!"

And just like that, they won the suit of armor. The woman grinned as Nor'baal suggested her bodyguard looked like a 'fake mandalorian'. In a way he was correct, but high quality armor was high quality armor...

It would be then that Tyr'din asked her about the force, something no other individual had ever asked her about. Grace would surprised at his interest, and would explain to the best of her ability. "Training... Yes. Just as a gamorrean pit fighter lifts weights in preparation for a big fight, I too train my physical body, but I also train my mind. To become stronger requires practice, just like anything else. The more practice I have, the greater my influence over it is. The more dangerous I become..."

As she was explaining this, the very moment she had been waiting for would arrive. She would notice the auctioneer getting ready to point out the book of shadows.

"Fifty-"

His head whipped to the side with a dominant raise of an eyebrow, she did not just bet that amount of money on that Armor. Unfortunately for him he was incorrect because she indeed did and not only did she bet that much, she also outbid the competition, this... this was new and most definently something that'll sear into his mind, just like the fact that the Hutt referred to him as "Pet".

Rubbing his eyebrows firmly, it was apparent that what just happened had been more than exciting, the closest to similiar quality he had ever gotton his hands on was Phrik, and that only briefly because not many people know how to work Armor, this was going to be more than just a protective piece of Equipment for him, this was History and History that he would study and treat with respect.

"This... I did not expect. I will have to find a way to thank you I reckon."

He confessed, it was curious that she went to the length but at the same time he was still owed in her eyes so he concluded in his head that such may be the reasoning behind it, though as she spoke of her training he listened, and not just in passing as he seemed to listen intently, Grace would finally pick up on one of the few things that gave Tyr'din an edge over others, the ability to learn in very short time, he soaked up Knowledge like a sponge when presented with it and regarded new things with much respect.

"I figured that you too must train in some way, I am curious how that looks and works, if you permit me I would like to watch one of these... Training Sessions at a later date?"

He asked, it was a genuine question and there was no hint at a hidden meaning behind his words nor ill intent, he was genuinely curious, though as the Book was being presented he turned quiet and infact gestured with a hand forwards as if to make Grace aware of what was now coming up.

"Eyes up, this is your Item."

His eyes then began scanning the rest of the attendees of the Auction, he would much like to see who else had their eyes on this Book, if it was as important as Grace had said it to be it would be important to keep a lookout for potential... sore losers.

Suppressing a small belch, Nor'baal found that he was hankering for some food. Waving for his Majordomo, who rapidly fluttered off to oblige his master's request, the cantankerous kleptocrat Nor'baal did a double-take as Grace placed a bid. Murmurs spread around the room as the other attendees came to terms with the idea that a slave had made a purchase, whilst Nor'baal applauded her efforts, bashing his pudgy little hand on his side.

Grace Zann was surprising the Hutt more and more with each little excursion the two of them undertook.

For a human, she was remarkably intelligent. Nor'baal had often found members of her species to be slow of thought, and fleetingly short-lived. Purchasing a gift for the guard, one which not only spoke of her own wealth but also made her guard somewhat more useful, was a move that spoke of a modicum of intelligence the Hutt had long thought most humans incapable of.

Noticing the next item coming up, a book which he personally had no interest in, he ignored the bidding, and scowled about the room to see where his Majordomo had headed off to with his food....

Grace would smirk as Tyr'din mentioned her item was coming up next. She really hoped no one was looking to by the book before her. The auctioneer would spend some time attempting to impress the crowd, explaining "Che tee bapionh copah, wa ree choabe wisoleay dathomirian jedha see acdha. Kae yih bace see yetkaha bahkawopka noa-a ree nyowkee bai bauban fa bai twa pauapka." These remarks would gain the attention of a few different hutts from around the room, many prepared to bid large numbers.

The auctioneer would continue, "Jeejee hatkocanh doa bu kanieh ree dokwacha don keemon dokwacha!" to which several different hutts would immediately begin driving up. First they would reach fifty thousand, then sitxy thousand... There appeared to be some sort of competition going on between two hutts specifically. With one raising their arm higher and higher with each call.

Grace simply rolled her eyes, deciding the book would be worth dedicating a lot of credits to... She would shout "Domon konocha Don keemon dokwacha!" to the shock of the crowd yet again. This time the slave offered no small amount of money, and the two competitive bidders from before were each quick to stop driving up the price. Each were a little fumed by the whole situation. "Bolla bonee wagan! Siwaee! DWANA!"

"I sense alot of work coming up..."

He gave back as he watched Grace casually wave one hundred and fifty thousand Credits over an Auction and knew full well, no matter how big the coffers that was no small amount of money, giving her a knowing look as he scratched his chops idly, he hoped noone contested her on this but you never knew with Hutts.

Sure enough she secured her Item which to his surprise went over the table relatively smooth though he smelled grudges when a mile away, her betting this high out of nowhere will have more than likely drawn eyes of both impression as well as resentment, afterall if something is bad for a Hutts business they dont usually fret on taking the liberty to remove the equation, or atleast try.

"I dont know about you but I have a bad feeling about this. I dont mean to impose on you... but you likely didn't make too many Friends by buying out items of interest."

He leaned down to tell her, he had good reason to have these worries afterall he was the one to make sure that she left this establishment alive, looking over his shoulder he regarded Nor'baal with another respectful nod as if to make certain that he knew they still appreciated his generosity and his presence.

He then straightened out as he locked eyes with another party who had been keeping a bit too keen of an eye on Grace and the longer he kept an eye on them eventually they would fade away into the Crowd, he made a mental note and grew a little more tense, he was calculating escape routes in his mind whilst displaying a pokerface of being absolutely calm to the outside.

<Chess ko.> he cautioned Grace, as the Hutt began to notice his peers expressing concern about her actions amongst themselves. Throwing money around was something Hutts respected, but not when an apparent slave made a point of doing it.

As the auction closed, one of the other Hutt Lords approached. He was adorned with assorted painted-on tattoos, a blue hue to his skin marking him out as a Sleheyroni Hutt, a resident of one of the border worlds of the Hutt Cartel. The creature fanned itself as it stood in front of Nor'baal <Jee doth tee bla bu Yih Kankahnox'a gee koumueesa juju jaha hee koumhaptece peee bai dodueu bpuoiaee wa lumpa see dosoue bkokita bai bu Lordas?>

<Ateema ateema, in ting bu nagoha doi Buarayahan gee jot uba joleu. Tee canta mapke?> Nor'baal replied, sneering at his rival <Um biweoo, ree koumuaee Jee lwaa bla mee peekasa? Jee tee babau see pea koushonbe Yih Lorda doi mah deana noa-a hee koutoze peee bai saconba mi du ciduepe.>

<Arbo, bonionotpeka wei dee Anjilic Kajidii. he replied. Nor'baal, in truth, did not really care who he was - only that he got out of his way.

Oh boy, Tyr'din and Nor'baal were both quickly proven correct in their assumptions. Though Grace was quite excited that she had procured so many goods, they had ruffled the feathers of another hutt there. The child of some Hutt lord on the borders of hutt space.

This could be an dangerous situation, but Nor'baal was the leader of the entire Cartel right? Surly a small fish like that wouldn't challenge him of all people. At least she thought... While the hutt was being distracted by Nor'baal's words, Grace would stubtly touch the collar around her neck with her left hand. Using the force, she would telekinetically grip the device and crush it. The electronic aspects of the device would fizzle off, and she would swiftly remove the object from around her neck.

She only hoped no one would directly see her do this... As the two began their spat, Grace would stand next to Nor'baal. "Listen Anijilic. Don't be a sore loser because a slave managed to outbid someone who claims to be rich... " She would remark with a smirk, tempting fate.

Things went from heated to burning, tensions were in the Air and it was more than apparent, to Tyr'din a switch was flipped and if anyone could see it, it was Nor'baal, the white haired bodyguard of Grace had completely locked down, a glint in his eyes that Nor'baal knew all to well from some of the best he hired, someone who prepared for a firefight.

Very subtly his hand slowly reached down to his holster where it hovered only mere inches away from the Pistol, his entire posture shifted so subtly into Grace's direction as if he was ready to interpose himself as soon as a fight broke out, but only very precise onlookers could see that this wasn't just someone doing their job, it seemed personal or rather... she seemed personal to him, how personal was hard to judge however.

His boots shuffled apart ever so slightly on the spot his eyes piercing whatever entourage the Hutt apprehending Grace brought with him, the gaze alone said a thousand words: [Think very carefully.] yet that didn't help to dismiss the situation, the other side would have to relent or make a move to break this standoff and the next move could very well decide what this Auction could end in.

A Standoff, one that Nor'baal unfortunately found himself entangled in, which side... that he would have to decide.
