Ahlan noticed her immediately. The arrow flew at the drow with practiced skill. Very few had such skill, but still he had no knowlage of her coming...strange. He notched his bow and pulled back, He took aim and kept it. If the drow was being attacked by and elf then he would follow suit, but not yet. He had great respect for the elves.But he would not follow blindly.

((Sorry, but I grow attached to my characters, and I don't have ideas for a new one in the case that Vera dies, so... Yeah. And I just realized while I was writing my post that I forgot to add wands to my character. *crappers*))

The arrow struck Vera, not at the neck, but slightly lower. He gasps, and the rapier's tip lowered as though it held sympathy for the drow. The mage fell to his knees, a hand reaching up and touching the head of the well-placed arrow. If Vera has not placed a cat-trip like trap behind him, it would have killed him on the spot. Except he expected it to come from the ranger, not the druid.

"N'Tel'Quess," he hissed, slightly garbled by the rising blood.

The drow has almost exhausted his ability to teleport, but teleporting to places like Calimport would hold more disastrous consequences. But, he knows the rough area that his unseen assailant struck from. Straining against the foreign arrow, Vera gestures towards the sun elf, struggling to mouth an incantation around the shaft. "Ssalmanth…"

With a howl, the wolf-form-Ravanys and her animal companion attacked as one, the pair leaping at the Drow with a sudden yet organized ferocity. While her animal companion went for the legs and lower torso, Ravanys herself aimed more for the head, seeking to disrupt the chant with her attack.

At the same time, Ravanys quickly took in the faces and features of those surrounding the Drow, the group including a more solitary, traditional ranger, as well as a typical paladin, who had spouted righteous fury the moment she had spotted him.

Ahlan noticed he had been seen and lowered himself from the tree and settled in the bushes at the base. He kept his bow taught and now aimed at the paladin. He yelled over to the elf,"Amin mellon, ya lle?" He had an idea but he wasn't sure. This was still his normal land, he came in contact with elves often but usally never saw them have to exert themselves.

The casting died on Vera's lips and he reverted to producing another globe of darkness. The rapier went into action, aiming for Ravanys due to her higher elevation. Vera dropped himself onto the ground and rolled to the side to give himself some extra time. Blood spilled from his wound as the shaft snapped.

To make matters worse, he felt the sharp pain of jaws clamping down on his right boot. Now, teleportation is practically impossible, unless he wishes to bring a hostile animal with him to an isolated location. More pain rose, as claws raked his legs, tearing through his leather armor. His situation is dire, and Vera knew it.

"Ssalmanth faeryu," he whispers, and bolts of fire explodes from his fingertips, aimed towards Ravanys's companion.

OOC: {} denotes use of Elven, for RP ease.

The blade nicked Ravanys' left shoulder, leaving a long cut through her shoulder. Ravanys would have still been able to clamp on the man's jugular and end his life, but the timely dodge prevented her from finishing the mage.

Ravanys' companion, however, was not so lucky. Grasping the Drow's ankle and refusing to let go, not only was the wolf thrown around when the Drow rolled away, but the firebolts struck the wolf right on, bursting the poor creature into flames. With a howl of pain, the wolf tore off, rolling in a frenzy in an attempt to put out his burning flesh.

Ravanys howled in shared pain of her companion's own torment, breaking free from the wolf form and returning to her elven form, bow drawn and a terrible look on her face. None could doubt the severity of her tone or the pain she was feeling. Such was a Druid's tie to all living things.

{Throw down your weapons, Dark Elf, and you will be spared. This is your only and final warning. I suggest you take it, lest you can hold back the might of all the forces of holy Suldanessar on your own. Even your wretched kind must hold some affection for your own existance.}

((I'll do the same))

Even in his uneasy state of being, Vera laughed. {"I may have affection for my existance, but there is none of that to filthy N'Tel'Quess."}

Rage built up within him. To be bested by an inferior sun elf: the worst of the surface kind! But now is not the best time: surrounded by a ranger, paladin, his own traps, and having a skilled druid aiming an arrow at his face is simply not to his taste.

A twitch of his finger let off a cat-trip spell designed to let off his magic traps, and he quickly recalled his rapier before teleporting to the first place that comes to mind.

The drow lands at the Starspire Mountains. Unfortunately for him, that location neighbors the Forest of Tethir. But it would be suitable for recuperation. If he could, Vera would have killed that druid, but the situation was not in his control from the start to end. For now, the mage knew it would be more pressing to tend to his wounds, then plan ahead in the case that he is being followed.

((Reminder: N'Tel'Quess means "not people", and is a common drow insult to other races, especially surface elves. I would imagine Ravanys getting really pissed off by the term; but hey, she's not my character.))

Ahlan lowered his bow and stepped out of the wooded area. Looking around he saw what ahd happened he kept an eye on the paladin .{Elf maiden, are you unharmed?}He placed his bow away and began walking over to her. The wind had picked up and there were burn marks all over the area. Although fire it was magical and died as soon as the enemy left the area.

Thoril had been trying to get to the drow, but the traps hindered his process. He didnt even know there were any until he stepped on the first one. After that he started throwing and kicking rocks and sticks aross the field in an atempt to get them out of the way. It was extremely time consuming, and when he actually got within striking distance the drow disapeared again. In a fit of anger he stabbed his sword in the spot the drow once was. This second failure was almost unbearable to him, he saw the two others talking amongst themselves. They where talking in elven, he could tell by the pronunciation of the words. He re-sheathed his sword before calling his horse, he was going to continue looking for the drow and smite it if it was the last thing he did, even though he couldnt sence its presence anymore.

Ravanys waited until she was sure the Drow was truly gone, then threw aside her bow, rushing to her companion with barely restrained fear as she huddled over the badly scorched creature.
'Leave us,' she hissed (In Common) between clenched teeth, her face then suddenly becoming calm as she laid her hands on the flank of the beast, who wimpered on the pain of the lvoing contact, the bond that ties a Druid to all things natural, great or small. And she muttered under her tongue a soft incantation, her voice rising and falling, like breakers on white sand, or the wind rustling through the boughs of a thousand trees, or the crackling of a hearth warming the toes of an old man and his hound...many things could be felt in such an incantation as Ravanys delved into the great natural magic of the world and tied it to her and her companion.

She finally drew herself back up, somewhat, the restoration spell fatiguing her greatly, and she stumbled, exhausted both from the battle and the spell, and now even abandoned of her rush of adrenaline. Her hands shook as he grasped her bow once more and regarded the group around her. Then, she whistled sharply. The sound of dozens of bowstrings tightened, and the bright eyes of innumerable Elves of varying age could be seen, the soft light of the wood glistening on their viridian mail. They did not look friendly.

'Despite the Drow Wizard you pursued to this point being the motive for your presence here, you are still trespassing on ancient and sacred grounds, and are under arrest by the law of Suldanessar. Drop your weapons, now.'

{ladye lf do you not know of me? I have lived here many years and lived in peace with your people.}(elven)He had noticed the other elves but had thought them friend. One he noted a young elf by their standards was well known to him, his name was Belladon,{I lay down my weapon as you request, Belladon hello...} He threw down his bow as well as his two blades. His own bow had been a gift from their people. To Belladon, he waved lightly.

"Faster you maggots" Gnom said ushering his tribe army forward. In truth it was only a portion of the army, but anything bigger than a group of ten people is an army to goblins. The stench of their march could probably be smelt for miles on end, but Gnom felt the smell refreshing. Kicking the slowest one right in the calf, he sent a message for it to hurry up. Time was of the essence to Gnom's plan and if they did not make it to the forest by nightfall his plan would have to wait another day. And waiting was not one of Gnom's strong points, and it would probably spell the death for a few of the goblins there.

Kicking up dirt as they ran, Gnom at the back to make sure none of them deserted. He spied a traveler on the horizon. Seeing him walk toward a patch of rocks, Gnom ushered his goblins forward even faster than before. Reaching the rocks mere minutes before the man. The goblins set up on either side of the patch.

Then as the man walked through they all pounced two went straight for his legs knocking him over. Two more held each of his arms, the rest of the goblins scrambling forward to pin him down. Then Gnom walked over staring right into the humans eyes and then breathed down onto his face, his rotten breathe was enough to bring tears to the man's eyes. Then with all the venom in his voice he could muster he said, "Looks like your times up." Then plunging his sword right into the man's head the blood spurted out and Gnom pulled it out of the man. Licking it dry the rest of his goblin horde started to feast on the man. That was enough for today the forest would have to wait until after the meal.

Just before reaching the edge of the clearing, Thoril heard several bow strings being pulled taunt and the elve's proclomation. He dismissed he horse, and turned around to face the large group of elves. " In order to prevent unneeded violence, I will comply with your demands and relinquish my sword." After speaking Thoirl unclasped his sword belt with sword in sheath and layed in on the ground, stepping back a couple feet from it.

His blade now free of the blood, was put back in his belt. Ripping the last piece of meat off the human Gnom stood up smears of blood still visible on his face. The ground around the human was stained red and there were bits of less tasteful organs littered around him. Motioning for the others to stand up, he kicked the one who still wanted to gorge himself. Responding with a whimper, he complied and they started their journey again.

Renewed by the meal the pack ran at a steady pace, bits of their lunch flying out of there teeth as they ran into the wind. Every once and a while a goblin would stop only to receive a kick to the rear, and continue on. The ground worn in were they ran, Gnom thought he could see the edge of the forest on the horizon.

Slowing their pace to a march the goblins approached the first tree all of them cackling. Un-sheathing his sword Gnom started hacking away at it chunks of wood flew in all directions as all the goblins joined in. As it fell an unlucky goblin was caught under it and squished. All laughing maniacally they started to feast on their half dead comrade. Yelling Gnom got their focus back, the squished half eaten goblin left still alive, but very much in pain. Climbing into separate trees they waited for someone anyone to enter.

{I am aware of you and your role in this land, ranger, and you have been tolerated for many years. However, today you stepped beyond your own lands and into our territory, treading on sacred ground, even were you not aware of it. Thus you must be taken into custody. This grove is not to be touched by the feet of those who are not Druids.}

It soon became obvious that none of the mail-clad rangers surrounding them had stepped within the clearing of the forest - indeed, Ravanys was the only one of Suldanessar who tread on the ground. Whjat had seemed a seemingly pleasant but otherwise unremarkable clearance was in fact a sacred glade, a convening point for the Druids of the local Grove.

Those with keen sight and a knowledge of the wilds would also be somewhat surprised to see that local animals of the area - a small spider, an owl in the lower boughs of a larger tree, and several others - all stared at the situation with cold, yet slightly fearful gazes. At least some of these beasts were younger or more reclusive Druids, fearful of the small party that had invaded their grounds. Ravanys herself slung her bow over her shoulder, then took the weapons of the group. She then indicated for the to walk towards a pair of trees, their boughs forming an unremarkable arch at one end of the circle. A group of four guards armed with long spears and open-faced helms waiting to escort them to the mysterious city of the Elves. A darkness had fallen over Suldanessar of late, that much was obvious - the faces of the soldiers were gaunt and long, all merriment banished from their faces from some recent trauma suffered by all their kind.

{I understand...}
He began to walk for the trees,No one told me I had been...tolerated, thats a laugh. He stepped between the pair of trees, he smiled though. The paladin might not be spared the same fate as him. Rarely did he see any outsders-city dwellers and other folk that spend little time in the wild- be allowed into elven cities.

Thoril wasnt worried in the least bit about being arrested by the Elves. He and their people had no ill feelings for each other. Tyr must have been smiling down on him today he thought to himself. Being an emmasery for the human race in a elvin city most of even the grimjaw paladins havent entered. He then followed the ranger to where the elves told him to go.

Seeing nobody come Gnom's patience wore thin. Every so often he thought he spied something on the horizon, but it always turned out to be nothing. The tree bark was starting to make his backside itch and the half-eaten dead goblin was starting to become more of an appealing morsel.

Finally giving in he climbed down the trunk of the tree yelling for the other goblins to come down too. As they slid down their claws dug into the bark of the tree making visual marks of their presence. Immediately they all rushed to the dead goblin. Kicking one out of the way he started to enjoy his meal. Every so often brushing away gathering flies, Gnom bit off the last edible piece.

Refreshed from his second meal of the day he licked his lips tasting the last remnants of his meal. Then yelling out he took his sword and started smashing it against the tree. At first only scratch marks were evident but eventually chunks of wood started to fly from the tree. As it fell all the goblins scattered not wanting to be the next meal. Felling two more trees in the same manner, the trees created a little square, chunks of wood, flesh and blood scattered all about. Then hoisting the dead goblin into the middle of the square, he climbed up the nearest tree, his fellow goblins doing the same, this time they would wait for their prey.
