Location: Nal Hutta

For several years, various planets in Hutt Space have been awash with the victims of the AMS virus. This has cost the Hutts dear, making it much harder to do business and hammering into the profits of these once majestically prosperous planets (for the Hutts, that is). Now entering into the next period of his reign as Supreme Mogul, Nor'baal Desilijic Fa'athra had decreed 'The Great Clearance', authorising the use of any measures needed to thin out the hordes on Hutt-occupied planets whilst leaving the Palaces and Manufacrories of Hutt Space intact.

You have been hired as part of this operation, which will see the rolling out of mass-assault tactics and measures to bring about the Great Clearance and return the Hutt Core Planets to their former greatness. A flat fee of one-thousand credits is offered, alongside a fee of fifty credits per AMS victim 'cleared'.

Wrestling the credits out of the hands of his peers to fund this mission had taken months. However, finally, Nor'baal could do what he had promised all those years ago - The Great Clearance.

For years Nal Hutta, the 'Glorious Jewel', considered by his species to be the actual Capital of the Galaxy, had been overrun with victims of the virus. Mindless, brainless drones that attacked on sight. Only the Hutt Palaces had been safe, Durr having ordered massive walls erected to keep their occupants safe. Yet Durr was no longer here, and Nor'baal intended to return the world to glory and watch the credits flow again.

This operation was one of many kickstarting today, with others across ey Hutt worlds due to commence on his order.

Each Clan had been reminded of their duty to keep their worlds in profit and encouraged (by force where needed) to invest accordingly. Nor'baal would lead the effort in a very real sense. Resting atop his Palanquin, flanked by around thirty Gamorreans, each wielding axes, shields and shotguns, he gazed over the assembled force, which stood just inside the gates of his palace, overlooking a vast plain on the planet, filled with AMS victims.

A row of Scorpenek] droids, stood behind rank after rank of B1 Battle Droids, positioned between the Hutt and his organic mercenaries, and the horde.

Clustered around, with rifle-armed mercenaries, could be seen cargo skiffs, technicals, and of course, his sail barge, onto which he was being carried.

Once aboard, he activated a hololink to his men, and gave the orders.

<Webai adgapka. Yabee jeejee gee wa dauau ketea; dopeha wata jeejee lwaa wogha bu dopeha wanga dah bu Lhonu Mogka, wa keuekey bai puohe doptkee, du wa lhonbau kaiou, bu biwahonka see tah nanan doi tee planeeto. OOC - Open to all Cartel characters and contracted indies. This is not open to the opposition at this stage and is a dice DMed PvE thread. Please bear in mind that the droids are there to 'mop up', it is up to you to break the horde and do the most damage. I shall post intermittently to advance the Hutt NPC troops, and adapt the hordes size and threat as we go on.

Jorge clenched the E-11 in his hands a little tighter. The Half-Breed wasn't afraid of anything! But... But maybe the undead were a little creepy was all. Maybe Jorge had no intention of becoming a zombie. Maybe he could use the fear to fuel his feral rage the festered within him. Maybe that came from the Grimlyn side of his genetic code.

<Mah Lorda, fa lwaa doth woy!> Jorge snarled as he awaited deployment into the dead abyss that was once the mighty Nal Hutta. Just don't think about their magot-infested faces slobbering on your face... They're just a bunch of spice addicts... Mindless spice addicts...that also want to eat you- no biggy. No biggy... Jorge was a little embrassed with himself. Nothing scared the Enforcer more than zombies. But, Jorge wasn't planning on fighting alone. There would be plenty of droids to keep him company along with a few other loyal members of the Cartel.

"I'm sick a'waitin'- Let's bludgeon these bastards..."

From the ranks of the thirty Gamorreans flanking the great Nor'baal, Supreme Mogul of the Hutt Clans and businesshutt extraordinaire, stepped a lone rodian who simple walked up to the palanquin, where he carelessly tossed his cigarra on the ground dusted by the footsteps of the giant slug's army. "Well," he said, looking at the swath of infected in the distance, "At least they don't shoot back." or have any skill in that frightful magic.

Preef unholstered his peacemaker and walked forward to join the main force of droids, which looked very similar to the droid army he had once lead in taking the Smuggler's Moon from Nor'baal's predecessor. How times had changed. On the way he encountered a mean-looking Gamorrean offshoot he knew to be an enforcer for the Hutt, too, and motioned for him to follow. "Stick by me, George-" he smiled, not sure if he got the name right, "-we'll show these droids how its done."

Everyone present would once again witness the skill of the legendary gunslinger that was Preef Callo, whose peacemaker had advanced him from mere scoundrel to that of the boss of the Crymorah Syndicate, Lord of Nar Shaddaa and twice-protector of Kessel.

Linjal found such work beneath him, and potentially far too risky for the rewards, but Nor'baal had risen through the ranks of Hutt leadership for a reason, and Linjal was keen to study his future rival in action. That was why he'd signed up for this mission to clear Nal Hutta of AMS victims; that, and the knowledge that such a service could be used to his advantage in the future.

Linjal fell in line next to the Rodian and the half-Gamorrean, making sure to keep the smaller alien between him and the hulking brute. Although he preferred to fight with his whip and his claws in order to inflict maximum suffering on his enemies, today it was critical that the AMS infected never reached melee range. With that in mind, Linjal drew his DE-10 and checked the sights and the power pack; green, green.

It was time to get paid.

<Bankobaaney!> his voice rolled through the still air, amplified by drones hovering over his head as the command to attack was issued. A chorus of 'Roger-Rogers' rose up from the assembled ranks of B1s. With methodical orchestration, the ranks moved forwards, the Skorpenek Units following suit, their shields deactivated - for now - to enable greater power to flood their weapons.

With a loud roar, the speeders on the flanks kicked into gear, heading out and around the horde on either side, as the Sail Barge kicked into life and moved forward behind the droid line.

Despite being a powerful vessel in its own right, bedecked with a heavy canon and side-mounted blasters, Nor'baal had no intention of using it for anything important besides his enjoyment and observation. As such, he slithered forward, pushing the guard manning the main gun to one side and taking the controls for himself.

He pulled the trigger, sending the opening shot into the horde, blasting a cluster of AMS victims to ash. As one, the B1's and Skorpenek droids also opened fire, salvo after salvo firing into the horde, which began a slumbering march to retaliate against their attackers. The speeders, zipping up the flanks, continued to do so - intended to get to the back of the horde and fire from there.

The advancing force, and most importantly, the Enforcers in their ranks, needed to keep the attention of the horde on them, and not on the speeders - the entire plan depended on it!

Linjal didn't want "Roger roger!" to be the last words he ever heard, so the Zygerrian did his best to look like he was enthusiastically participating (lest Nor'baal turn his laser cannon on anyone not following orders) while searching for a position that would provide enough cover to keep him from attracting too much attention from the AMS horde ahead of them.

A long-destroyed, burned-out hulk of a speeder on the left side of the street was the best he could find; safely (for now) behind the foremost ranks of the Hutt's forces, Linjal began firing. Even given the fact that he was firing at the extreme range of his blaster pistol, it was nearly impossible to miss. The Zygerrian was having fun, and it was only as he had to stop and reload did the Zygerrian wonder exactly how he was supposed to confirm his kills with the Hutt in order to get paid...

Kriff.

"Huh?" Jorge turned to face an older looking Rodian. "Holy shit..." Jorge was awestruck after he realized who had called him by name. "You... Ain't you... Dead? It's... It can't be... Damn straight- You're Preef Callo!" Jorge smiled giddily and gladly made his way over to fight by the gunslinger's side. If it wasn't already apparent, Preef Callo was one of Jorge's idols- besides Nor'baal, of course. But the Rodian Gunslinger was pretty high up on the list. .

"Yes, sir!" Jorge copied and prepared for the worst. The undead seemed to react too slow during the initial push, which gave Jorge the opportunity to slaughter the infected with his shitty blaster rifle that he really wanted to replace. After his gun jammed, Jorge drew his vibro axe and went apeshit on a trio of infected. After he felled the three, he tore off their thumbs and bound them together with string before placing them in his bag. He needed new credits so he could get a new gun.

"How was tha', huh?" Jorge said proudly to Preef, wanting to show off his skill with brute force. "Hahah... I wanna do it again..." And the more zombies Jorge disassembled, the more his fear of the virus went down. However, the Half-Breed wanted nothing to do with corpses and taking their thumbs seemed to make Jorge gag.

Preef really hoped that like him, George had also gotten the AMS vaccine beforehand. While the brute first shot and then engaged the zombies in close combat, the Rodian made sure to keep his distance. There was always a droid in between him and the nearest AMS victim as he used his peacemaker with terrific accuracy to all but blow up many heads.

They never slowed down their advancing strut and never gave quarter. The army that Nor'baal had assembled to clean up Nal Hutta would do its work rather easily. That is, if the grunts like George had indeed taken their AMS vaccine.

Some fellow gunslingers joined Preef and with the Hutt leading by example there was little doubt in the rodian's mind that they'd succeed. It would take hours at this rate, maybe even days, but they'd get rid of the AMS remnants.

So far, it seemed as if everything was going quite well.

Nor'baal watched as the droids advanced, the slow, methodical march and robust fire they issued, hammering into the horde ruthlessly. With the speeders having completed their loop around to the rear of the advancing horde, they began to fire into the rear of the 'army', causing it to split, some of the victims moving to attack the speeders at the rear.

<Ateema Callo, ateema!> his voice erupted across the field. He planned to drive a wedge in the now-divided army using his barge. The droid line opened in the centre, and the barge moved forwards, its deck seething with guards in case the AMS victims attempted to climb the side of the barge as it advanced. Around it walked the Gamorrean Phalanxes, axes in hand as they walked - lock step with one another - axes ready to pierce into the heart of the horde.

Linjal had been looking forward to a rich payday shooting at things that didn't shoot back. For some time, it was like shooting fish in a barrel... except these fish were fast, strong, and could tear you apart if they had the chance. Still, staying tactfully close to the Hutt's barge sure helped with the amount of danger one was exposed to.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, the comfortable success of the Hutt's forces was not to last. As the barge and its small army pushed forward, they passed a side street with an abandoned warehouse at the end of it. Linjal's sensitive ears picked up the hammer of zombie fists on metal as the rusty doors groaned under the weight of far too many bodies, before giving way and spilling far too many zombies out onto the street (Number of zombies roll: 99/100).

Linjal's ears wilted as he took stock of the oncoming horde, realizing in the same breath that they were all coming at him. Even his talent for quickly counting large numbers failed him in the moment, replaced by the certainty that his blaster didn't have enough shots to deal with this threat, and that he was simply too important to die. Instead, fear lent speed to his feet, and he took off with a singular mind to return to the relative safety of Nor'baal's sail barge, in the hopes that the Hutt might be convinced to split things 60/40 with him.

Seven... Eight... Nine... Oh damn it- That was like, three in one swing. Jorge grimaced. Hacking and slashing all of these bodies was bloody work. Now, raw meat didn't bother the Enforcer at all, but he was no fan of anything spoiled or rotten. That included children. Speaking of children, zombie children were also very high on Jorge's No-No list. Five of them sprang at the Half-Breed which made Jorge yelp in a fairly ironic higher pitch.

It didn't take long before Jorge reluctantly subdued and collect thumbs of the smaller undead. But, duty called with the Lorda himself ordering for a most strategic and brilliant wedge that would no doubt destroy any unwise undead. If only Jorge could be as smart as his master- maybe then he could be wise enough to make such tactful calls. With his axe in hand while he walked in his henchman armor, Jorge felt like a war-machine.

"You're double dead... And you're double dead- HA HA!" Jorge cheered triumphantly as he swept his axe across the AMS victims who dared strike too close to his beloved master and all of his fatty might. I guess I'll collect the thumbs later.

Preef's antennae picked up the charging horde coming from the warehouse a few seconds later than Linjal had, but their reactions, partly due to the Rodian's delusions of grandeur, were the opposite of each other. "Gunslingers on me!" he commanded as he level his peacemaker in the direction of the large new horde.

Then he started firing. Ten of the zombies went down unceremoniously during their charge until the peacemaker's power pack gave out. By now other gunslingers had started firing into the zombies as well, but they couldn't kill all of them in time to avoid a melee so Preef was forced to run sideways down the alley, slide passed a swinging Gamorrean zombie and exchange the spend powerpack for a charged one as he rose back to his feet. Meanwhile the zombies mauled and gashed three gunslingers to death, their eyes following Linjal yet as they scanned their surroundings the noticed the much closer rodian.

Preef counted them. There were a dozen or so left that couldn't easily be destroyed by anyone but him or the Supreme Mogul's Sail barge. "Kriff," he noticed that his stamina for a fight wasn't as good as when he was younger, "I'm too old for this shit."

Nor'baal hadn't had this much fun in years. He cackled maniacally as he manned the main cannon of his barge, firing blast after blast into the massing horde before them, which pushed toward the droid line. There was only so much fire on could lay down, before the horde reached the line of B1s and began to get to work, however.
The B-1 droids where not build for close-quarters combat, and they began to falter as the horde approached.

However, Nor’baal did not care. This was part of the plan, droids and minions could be replaced, and so he signalled for the Gamorrean Phalanxes to enter the fray, which they did with gusto. Marching forward, they stepped around the Skorpenek line, and through to the B1s, axes swinging as they did their gruesome work.

Naturally, all of this distracted the Hutt from the plight of his enforcers, who were being approached by a small horde of shambling assailants themselves. It had not escaped the notice of his Majordomo however, who spotted Preef and his team under thread off the starboard bow of the barge, and ordered the side-mounted blaster weapons to fire into the horde, to thin it out.

”Callo!” the Majordomo shouted down a commlink.

”Get to the barge, boss wants to push into the horde and ‘smash it’ once and for all.” he said, keen to ensure the enforcers were as close to him as possible for when the Hutt made his reckless final attack.

As he ran, Linjal considered the irony that he was actually grateful that guns were being pointed in his direction; in this case, it meant that he had some covering fire for his hasty retreat. Only once he had safely returned to "friendly" lines did the Zygerrian cease his noble retreat, and turned around to fire once more upon the approaching horde that seemed significantly smaller than when he'd last laid eyes on it.

A voice crackled out from a nearby commlink, and the fur on the back of Linjal's neck stood up as he recognized the name. Callo? Preef Callo? There was simply no way that the older Rodian nearby was the legendary gunslinger, but the casual ease with which he wielded his Peacemaker caused Linjal to reconsider; and to pretend like he wasn't as winded as he actually was from his recent sprint. Aiming his blaster in the direction of the horde, Linjal did his best Preef Callo impression; firing a bright array of shots into the zombies whilst refusing to admit to himself that he was hoping the Rodian might take notice. No, Linjal told himself; he deserved to shoot alongside Preef.

And so he continued firing.
