The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

So I just saw it and, I've got to say, it was probably the most beautifully filmed film of the year. Some of the shots were breathtaking and I loved how accurate to canon the movie was.

Saw it in 2D at 25fps because a friend of mine gets headaches from 3D movies. It was good enough though. I enjoyed it more than Fellowship and since I enjoyed the Hobbit book more than any of the others I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. Hopefully it doesn't end up dragging as much as the ring series.

Don't need to see a film in 3D in the absolute best HD settings to enjoy it anywho.

Nope, and in this case it might even be better to see it in 2D. From what I can tell people found the 3D/45fps version jarring.

It actually looks great in 3D. One of the few movies where I've seen it in both 2D, then 3D and thought the 3D actually added something visually. The 48fps thing is just jarring, I'm not really a fan.

A friend of mine who owns a TV with 120hz refresh rate says he's gotten "used" to watching stuff that was and says it looked gorgeous in the high framerate. I'm still not a fan lol
